Roll On

Every morning as I return home from work I see people in such a rush to get to work or where ever they are going that they will almost run you off the road if you have the audacity to go the speed limit. God forbid you try to save money and drive less than the posted limit like I do some times, I am not a person who is in a hurry most of the time and I am getting very tired of getting the one finger salute as these jerks go by. Makes a girl want to carry a firearm with her sometimes. Good thing I do not own a firearm.

Yesterday, my sister and I were on our way to Wlamart when an 18 wheeler decided that she didn’t like us and tried to run us of the road. I was so upset that my sister called the cops and they said that they couldn’t do anything. Boy was I bent out of shape with that.

Changing Uniform Styles

There are multiple varieties of uniforms in the United States.  One of my favorite types of uniforms are nursing uniforms.  Every time I visit a doctors office or hospital I see the medical staff wearing these and they seem to be quite comfortable in their attire.

The history of medical scrubs and uniforms has changed greatly throughout time.  Forty years ago when my grandmother was a nurse they never would have dreamed of dressing in scrubs.  They wore extremely white uniforms with a cap on their heads.  Today it is an entirely different story.

The part of scrub uniforms that is always the most interesting to look at is the
nursing scrub tops.  There is a large variety of designs to choose from.  From flowers to cartoon characters, almost anything a person is looking for exists in a scrub top pattern. Perhaps the most interesting patterns seen are at pediatrician’s offices.  The pediatric nurses can often be seen wearing children’s designs on there scrub tops.  I think that this is a nice addition to the pediatrician’s office.  These designs can help put the children at ease during their visit.

Laziness

I recently did a favor for some friends. The girls husband was adamant about wanting her to do something specific, but she is so lazy that I ended up having to do it for her and now he is angry with me. I am not doing favors for anyone else anymore. I refuse! This is total stupidity, kind of like shooting the messenger. I am so over it.

My advice to others, think very hard before you help others. It can backfire on you and you will end up feeling used and being angry yourself. Oh well, I am going to get over it and move on, but I doubt I will talk to either one of them for a very long time.

Evil black insects

The other morning I decided to get a jump on my gardening that I has been neglected for the last couple of weeks.  The one thing I didn’t expect to have meeting me outside was a little black insect; hundreds to be exact.  There are multiple measures next time that I know I need to have in place.

The season is young and I didn’t expect to have such an encounter.  I was only outside for two hours and I was completely bitten from head to toe.  I was miserable afterwards.  In fact, I still am itching.  The next time I decide to do dome landscaping I will have to be sure to not wash my hair first, wear a hat, put on some bug spray and equip myself with knee pads!  Maybe this is the magical combination to reduce being attacked by black flies!

At any rate these bugs are evil and I wish I could garden in a bubble.  Unfortunately that will never happen so I must arm myself the next time I decide to go outside in order to fight their army.

Wedding invitations

I have gotten a lot of RSVP’s from the Wedding invitations we sent out. I am beginning to think we will have everyone accept. So far they have all responded with an affirmative. This is a good thing, the more people who come to the wedding, the better it will be. The reception is always a lot of fun if there are a lot of people in attendance. There will be a full liquor bar too, so it will be really interesting to see what happens.

We are hiring someone to video everything as well as a photographer. They are both from the same studio and have an impeccable reputation. I am so excited! This is definitely not going to come soon enough for me.

Juicy goodness

Usually I dread going to pick up groceries every week.  However, this week I was pleasantly surprised.  While shopping the produce section I discovered watermelon!

Watermelon is extremely nutritious, not to mention delicious.  I have always been surprised at how thirst quenching this melon can be.  Personally, I have been known to eat watermelon to not only quench my thirst but also my hunger.  The major reason for this quality is that most hold 92% water by weight.

The watermelon does have a large number of carbohydrate,s but next to no fat.  The fat that does exist merely comes from the natural sugar found in the fruit.  I highly recommend this fruit to anyone who wants a refreshing and versatile fruit.

Christmas Shopping

Although it is still summer, I can’t help but think about how winter is right around the corner and all of the things that come along with the winter months. I am not a fan of winter. The cold, the snow, the icy roads and then of course there is always all of the holidays that come along with winter. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.

Now is a good time to start thinking of who I am going to feel obligated to purchase Christmas presents for and how much money I plan on spending on it all. I am going to start now. There are a lot if things on sale right now because stores are trying to get rid of their summer stock and make way for items that are needed for back to school and for the cold weather that we all have to prepare for.

Last year I managed to purchase every single gift online. I got a lot of my shopping done at musiciansfriends website since so many of my friends and family are into playing music. I didn’t have to actually go to any of the old brick and mortar stores, except for the food items that I needed for the various family holiday dinners. I would love to be able to brag about doing the exact some thing about for this year’s celebrations.

ZZ Top

Woo hoo! ZZ Top is coming to concert! I can’t wait. I have always wanted to see them in concert and now I have my chance finally. I love their music and really grew up with it like most people my age. This is going to be so much fun!

So Many Shoes

Shoes have always held a special place in my grandmother’s heart. She is always looking at the newest shoes on the market.  Many of the ones she looks at she would never be able to wear but she still enjoys looking at them.

One type of she really likes is the Minnetonka shoes. They have many styles on moccasins.  All colors are nearly available including with or without fringe. My grandmother isn’t especially concerned with fringe but she does like the color purple.  I am not sure if she has any purple moccasins but I’m sure she will soon.

Frye shoes, I do not believe she would care for as much. I, however, think they look pretty cool. I particularly like the boots. I think I may look into their boots when I get my motorcycle. The other style that I really liked was a pair of sandals from Josef Seibel shoes.  They will be perfect for this summer when I go out on the town!
