If I have any options to review a product and/or service, you can bet that I will be utilizing every type(s) that I can get my hands on. It’s a whole new world out there. It’s amazing to think that we managed to live our lives without computers. At some point in the late 80’s we have become more and more reliant on what used to be referred to as the World Wide Web. I mean when is the last time you have even heard the words World Wide Web?
With all that the Internet has to offer almost all of us in the 21st century, it still surprises me that there are still some of our senior citizens who are bucking, kicking and screaming all the way to any computer who just can’t wrap their heads around even some of the most basic functions, even explaining all that they are missing by not using e-mail can’t entice some people to get on board.
My grandmother was a bit slow at getting used to the whole computer concept, but it didn’t take long once she starting realizing how useful it can be. One of the advantage that came into play during the holiday gift buying season. She actually took her time and checked out different acoustic guitars that she found at one of the major music websites that have just about anything that is musically related. It seems that a friend and neighbor told her about Musician’s Friend, which Grandma felt safe enough to go online, find a particular buying guide and actually ordered a wonderful guitar at a great price. Free shipping is always a plus when ordering anything online.
Last year was such a great holiday season for the family. I can only pray that this year works out just as well. The Martin guitar that I got for my kid sister was such a big hit with her. I am not sure what I could possibly get her this year that will thrill and delight her just as much. But I know that her expectations are high and I don’t want to disappoint her. She deserves the best of everything.
I have been thinking that she might like a gift card so that she can buy some type of accessory for her guitar. Maybe a new travel case, or a Capon, or possibly some type of a new special effects item . Part of me thinks that boss me50 Gift cards are a great option. But honestly, a gift card does not give you the thrill of opening a present and holding something fabulous in your hands right then and there.
If it was up to me, I would give everyone a gift card and be done with it all with one full swoop. But for my kid sister, I’ll make an extra effort.
Most of the gas stations near me have gasoline that is almost up to $2.00 a gallon, I use my Kroger card and get .10 a gallon off but it still takes me a good chunk of change to fill up my truck.
I was really hoping that I would not see gas prices getting this high and I can not understand why we can not get a break on the gas tax from the state. Even a few cents would make us feel better and make us look at the government with a little less hate. I hope gasoline drops soon, it is getting hard just to pay for the gas to get back and forth to work.
Easter has finally arrived! A sure sign of spring! I am very excited for this Easter because I will be visiting both sides of my family and having two dinners! I love Easter dinner. But it’s not just about the food, family and friends sharing the meal are what count most.
I have been busily preparing the dishes I will be bringing to each dinner. Easter morning is going to be super busy. I promised my best friend I would attend her church’s sunrise service and afterwards I have to get on the road. With all the activities planned on Easter I had no choice but to start preparing ahead of time. Desserts, vegetables and appetizers are all part of the menu items I am to bring with me.
The best part of Easter that I am going to enjoy is watching the little ones search for Easter eggs during the Easter egg hunt. They always have so much fun looking for those eggs. The looks on their faces are also a joy when they go to open the eggs to see what treasures are inside. I am not sure who started this tradition but I do not truly believe they knew the impact that would be on the children’s parents. Sugar, is the primary impact I am referring to towards the parents. Luckily for all of us the weather is suppose to be decent and so the solution to the sugar high the little ones will be experiencing is so keep them running around outdoors!
I have never really checked into a lot of “holidays” that are written on the many calendars that I rely on to keep me on track and on time. When I saw that today was “Flag Day” down in Mexico I felt the urge to see what the Mexican flag actually looks like and to find out a bit more about about it (which was zilch).
Sorry, I haven’t been posting much since the Holidays. They went by so quickly but took so much time to prepare for. It doesn’t seem right that Christmas should be one day, or one morning actually. Seems we should have more time to relax, enjoy, and spend time with our families. It feels that the true meaning of Christmas has been lost in the hustle and bustle, of the finding the perfect gift, and preparing the perfect meal.
Christmas has changed so much in my lifetime. As a little girl, we’d go downtown and look at all the big department store windows. They would have mechanical displays that were simply adorable. Wish my kids could see what I saw.
Anyway, I am back and will be blogging more. Happy New Year Everyone!
Just a little more than a week until Christmas and the holiday season hustle and bustle in surely in full swing. It came to me today how much Christmas has changed in my lifetime and how commercial it’s all become.
It seems most families spend way too much money for items their friends and loved ones probably don’t really need. Weeks and months of shopping and preparation turns into a few minutes of present opening frenzy. My immediate family takes a laid back approach to the holidays and mostly just enjoy a nice meal and the time together. I’m also sentimental enough to believe that Christmas should be an attitude we have in our hearts all year.
To be perfectly honest, I had absolutely no idea what any of the Luna Guitars were, much less – where to find a good one at a decent price. I am glad I discovered the WWBW’s website, which gave me many options and ideas to toss around before making a final decision. I mean really it’s already December for heaven’s sake. Christmas seems so far in the distant that I just can’t seem to get into the mood of thinking of anything that goes along with the holiday season, but I am a procrastinator.
I think if my two sisters pitch in as well we can purchase an affordable Luna Guitar much like the one below for Jason for his birthday, which unfortunately falls on Christmas Eve. Poor kid gets robbed of his birthday every year no matter how hard anyone tries. He is a good kid and we want to make sure he gets a good gift this year. Being 13 is hard enough.
I found a walgreens photo coupon for Walgreen’s at 50% off photo books, cards, prints and a lot more. I am going to use mine to make holiday Christmas cards to send to my family. I also have a couple of other projects that I want to use Walgreen’s photo for. The photo books I am making for family gifts of the children, I am going to give to their grandparents. All grandparents love photo’s of the grandchildren and my parents are no exception. Photos are easy to do at Walgreen’s with the new technology they have. I can put my card from my camera right into the monitor and select only the pictures I want to use, without having to have extras to store and take up space in my house.
The walgreens photo code I found for this project will help my costs stay to a manageable level, making it easier to save money for other Christmas gifts. Walgreen’s does the best photo’s of all the photo shops out there. Looking for promotional coupons is something I do all the time, because saving money is important when you are raising kids. It helps me to be able to buy more of the extras we all want to give our children.
I go to Walgreens for a lot of stuff. Their deals on Holiday decorations, costumes, etc are always worth the trip there. We even get out prescriptions there too. I am going to make sure that I share this discount with all of my friends and family, so everyone can take advantage of this promotion this holiday season. I encourage everyone to do so as well. You will be surprised at just how many different projects you can do with Walgreen’s photo shop. So give it a try and see what you can create for your family too.
Well the transmission went out on the truck. That really stinks. Transmissions cost a lot of money, unless you get one that is used. Of course, if you get one that is used, there is no telling how long it will last. If you know how, you can rebuild yours, but a lot of people don’t have that kind of skill. I have to do a lot of research today and see what I can find for a transmission. I may be able to find a re manufactured one. That is actually my best bet. It will still cost almost a thousand dollars though.
