As you all know, my boyfriend and I have been engaged for a while now. We just haven’t set a date because we are saving up money for the wedding. However, since I have been helping my friend plan hers, I decided that I should get an idea of what I want. As I go through the wedding favors we have chosen for hers, I have found a lot that I like as well. I am putting together a list of the favors I like the most, and when I start to do that actual planning, I will be ready. My boyfriend thinks this is a great idea and has decided to help me pick them out from the list when the time comes. That way I don’t have to make all of the decisions on my own.
Wedding decorations
Well more of the wedding decorations keep coming in through the mail. It seems like every day we have a ton of packages. Plus with the holidays, there are Christmas presents coming in for the kids as well. I have to keep them from opening everything that comes in. Their grandmother has ordered stuff online and just had it shipped to us. I have to wrap it and then put her name on them, so the kids know that she got them something.
Wow, there are a lot of packages under the tree already and so much more to get for various family members. I am already exhausted. I love the holidays, but I also love when they are over.
Wedding flutes
I found the loveliest Wedding flutes for the toasting. They are an absolute necessity for any wedding. I still have mine from my wedding to the kids father. I will pass them down to my daughter someday. She says that she will use them at her own wedding when she grows up. I cannot wait until the day comes when we can plan her wedding, even though I don’t want her to grow up yet. One day I will look up and that will have happened already. I know that it will seem like it happened over night, because it seems like yesterday when she was born. She is already halfway to womanhood and I begin to feel old, just looking at how much she has grown and changed.
Wine wedding favors
Oh these are really cool. They are Wine wedding favors that are wine stoppers with heart shapes at the top of them. They are really classy. There are several different styles, like the snow flake one, or the one that looks like a martini glass. I didn’t know that there were this kind of wedding favors available. I told you that I am obsessed with the wedding favors. I just keep finding all kinds of neat stuff. My kids think I am crazy because I keep looking through them, but I don’t mind. If I ever get married again, I will have a good idea of what I want for that wedding.
I already know that I would want an elegant wedding, not just your run of the mill one. I have so many ideas, that my daughter will be hard pressed when she grows up to be able to plan her own wedding without my interference. That sounds bad, but I mean it in a good way. After all, I am a mother and we only want what is best for our children. Nothing but the best is good enough for mine and I freely admit it. Okay, back to work. Later gators!
Wedding favors
Well the Wedding favors we picked out have to be changed, as well as a whole lot of other stuff. The entire theme was changed. This is very annoying. It wasn’t my friend, but her soon to be mother in law that threw a fit over the theme. I told her to ignore the mother in law, but she wants to keep the peace. That is starting a bad precedent, allowing his mother to throw a temper tantrum and force her to change her own wedding.
She is now going to have nothing but trouble from that woman, because she let her get away with it. She should have put her foot down and let her know that she will not cow tow to her over bearing behavior. I feel sorry for her.
Wedding favors
The Wedding favors will be so cute when we finally get everything picked out. We have chosen a few things, but are not quite finished. The bags will be randomly filled with different stuff, so that people mostly get something different. Only, one item will be the same in all of the bags. It has a more personal touch to it and we are sure that the guests will really love it.
I for see some trading back and forth or bartering, which will make things interesting. I am hoping that the disposable cameras we will put on the tables will catch some of the bartering. I think it will make for humorous pictures and stories.
Wedding invitations
I am back to looking at Wedding invitations. I just can’t seem to let it go. I was not happy with the ones that have been chosen and I am hoping that we might find something better. Planning a wedding is not easy. There is so much that has to be done and half of it hinges on the invitations getting out and the RSVP’s coming back.
We can’t really order anything at all until that happens and if the invitations are sub par, we will not order them either. It is a time consuming hassle. Of course, in the end it is definitely worth it, but takes forever.
Wedding favors
Oh, I got the cutest little Wedding favors at a friends wedding. They were miniature gum ball machines. Of course you don’t have to put only gum balls in them. You can put mints or chocolates in them. The wedding was a fifties style wedding with decorations to match and the gumball machines were the party favors. The kids loved it when I brought one home. It now rests on a table in the living room, filled with peanuts. My littlest guy is always going and getting a peanut. I doubt he will ever grow tired of it.
Wedding invitations
The Wedding invitations had to be re ordered. We apparently made a mistake when we gave them the information that was supposed to be on them. As it was our mistake, we will have to pay for new ones, but not all of them. Someone at the printing company noticed the mistake and stopped the printing before half of them were done. They saved a lot of money for the wedding budget by being attentive to their job.
We decided to send a thank you to the employee who is on his toes. We are sending a nice gift basket of cheeses and meats to show our appreciation. It is only the right thing to do.
Wedding decorations cont.
Apparently there were more than a few things we forgot. That is okay though, because I am on it. We were concentrating on the wedding decorations for the reception and totally forgot the church. We have the flowers and such to get for the church as well as the ribbons and greenery that will be on the pews. I have to match her colors to the available ribbons and make a list of what kinds of flowers and such we need.
I also need to call the church and see how long the isle is. With as many weddings as they perform, they should know the length that is needed to loop down the isle. I hope they do or I will have to go and measure with some yarn or something.
