Girls Night Out

We are going for our monthly girls night out. I think we will hit the Blues bar this month. I have to see what the consensus is with everyone else first though. I do vaguely remember on our last night out, we had said Blues Bar this time, so we shall see.

My mother is going to keep the kids over night, so I do not have to worry about them. I can crash at a friends if I choose and not even go home till morning. That is a good thing, since one of my friends lives in town and I can park at her place, then take a cab to the bar. No drinking and driving for us.

Cheesy Goodness

One of my absolute favorite kinds of cheese is provolone cheese. I think that this cheese goes really great with almost any sandwich. Personally, I prefer to use it the most in my sandwiches. Provolone has a nice mild flavor that mixes quite well with turkey and roast beef.

Another kind of cheese that I use a lot in Italian dishes is ricotta cheese. The dish that I use ricotta the most in is lasagna. I have tried multiple types of lasagna recipes and I think that recipe that ricotta works the best in is crock pot lasagna. The cheese melts really well in the crock pot especially because it is able sit for hours and melt amongst the rest of the ingredients.

Amongst all of the delicious cheeses to choose from I usually try to pick low fat cheese. Cheese although, good for you is also very high in fat. In moderation cheese is good for you. However, many of us have a hard time because cheese is nearly found in all dishes we eat.

New Gum

Has anyone tried that new Stride gum?  I bought a pack of it a few days ago.  The package says it is a mystery flavor.  I was curious so I had to try it for myself.

After I tried the first piece I was pleasantly surprised.  It tasted pretty good.  It is a fruity flavor verses a minty one.  I will have to try another piece before I reach a conclusion on what fruit it might be representing.

Heat

This year I don’t have to guess what to purchase to give to my dad on Father’s Day. I have already found a great website with an awesome selection of Heat Guns, Soldering Irons and Hot Knives to pick from to order for him. Now I just have to decide on which one to actually purchase. Father’s Day is only a few short weeks away so I better hurry up and pick one. I’m sure he would love any of them.

Durham Air Conditioning

The days that I could call my kid brother for my heating and/or air conditioning issues are unfortunately long gone. He discovered that he has a real talent with computers and he hasn’t had anything to do with anything else since.

So on the down side I have to locate and hire my own Durham air conditioning service when I need help. On the other hand I can always count on him to help me with my computers!

Women in the movies

Tonight’s evening news revealed a surprising study with regards to women in the movies. The study overall showed that women still  have very few speaking parts compared to men. Men account for 67% of speaking parts according to this study. Women have very little leading roles.

The study accounts this data to the majority of film directors still being of the male gender. Naturally, these men lean more toward hiring male actors than female actors. I am kind of appalled but at the same time not fully surprised. It is very sad also that women who purchase more movie tickets in a year then men, according to the same study, view these movies and basically are subjected to their own equality.

That study also found that women are pealing off their clothes 1/3 more than their male counterparts. Again, it is women who are viewing these movies more than men. Something is wrong with this picture. Maybe in another 100 years women will finally have the upper hand or should I say lead?

Girls like sports too

It is true that girls can like sports too and I am a true sports fan, I played many sports as a young girl and I do enjoy watching most of the sports that all of the men like. Football is my favorite and baseball is not far behind. I have learned to love hockey since I moved here to Nashville, I have attended many of the Predators games and I love my hockey seats, we are right on the glass and you can hear the boys sweating.

Now that football is over and hockey is on break all I can hope for is spring training to get started so I can have some baseball to watch. One of the few sports that I do not follow at all is basketball, we went to one live pro game a few years ago and I tried to watch it but just could not make myself, so hurry up baseball season.

My sisters youngest daughter has had a beautiful baby girl and to get the perfect gift for this newest member of our family I have decided to go all out and get her some unique baby blankets for the baby. A new baby brings out the very best in most people and I am one of those who love the new babies. Learn About New Ringtones

I will have to admit that I am a late bloomer on the technology front and I am racing to catch up as quickly as I can. I have found an online creation app thats free and I seem to use it a lot almost every day I find something new and exciting online. The fact that a web site has so much information and a great selection of music to download to your phone for a ring tone is amazing to me.

What I really like about this very useful web site is the fact that you can create your own application from their list of different songs. I really like the fact that they have a much bigger selection than is on my phone, I have a ring tone that people in the south wold love.

Brinked has a huge selection of different music to choose from and I have made a couple of selections from the rock category and one from the R&b section, they even have themes from TV and movies on their web site. I even found the Imperial March from Star Wars, and anyone who is not a Star Wars fan like me is really missing out on this great series of movies and the great music from the movies is top notch.

Fix it up

Over the last few years the furniture in my home has become very out dated and stale, to help remedy this situation I had begun looking for some Modern Furniture to replace my old stuff. The main thing I want this new furniture to do is help liven up my living room and the dining room.
