Notes from Abigail
I know it is a little early, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day now, just in case I forget or get busy. I know that my weekend will be busy with my own children, plus my mother and mother-in-law. So here’s to all you awesome mothers out there! Keep up the good work. =)
I would really like to build one of these greenhouses for my plants that need more humidity. I love tropical plants, yet where I live gets far too cold to plant them out of doors. During the winter a small heater can be placed inside to keep them from dying. I think it would be great to have one.
Well our lives are all looking up lately. Things have gotten much easier to deal with work and children wise. Work has been running along smoothly compared to the winter months when things we so crazy. My boss is tremendously happy with things and I received a raise as well as a bonus for outstanding work. That is where the “looking up children wise” comes in. That bonus allowed me to pay off the car and also put some away for a trip (I hope) to Disney. The travel agent I talked to was very helpful about it, but I haven’t committed to it yet. I will I am sure though.
This is my favorite time of the year. I love the green and colors after a dull boring winter. So we are going to start the flowers this weekend. I have already prepped the seeds and the seedlings are ready to go into the ground. This is the kids favorite part, because they are allowed to get dirty and dig with mommy. We really have a great time with this.
I have a couple of bio dome gardens that are just for them to use. One has carnivorous plants like the Venus flytrap. Boys absolutely love that one. There is also a butterfly garden as well, that the girls just adore. Our next door neighbors will join us with their kids and we will do both yards. I can’t wait to see how well it turns out.
This is an amazing song. I love these two and having them do a song together made me so happy. It’s not the only one that they have done together, but it is the first and best as far as I am concerned. Maybe I will post the other one later. I know everyone will love it.
Well we decided to buy a latch clamp for the shed doors instead of the old hasp that we had previously. The hasp just didn’t keep the doors shut as well as we would like. If there were high winds, it would sometimes jiggle loose and the doors would bang around something firce. This should put an end to that problem.
Some of my daughters friends are coming to spend the weekend. I forsee me pulling my hair out by the roots before it is all over. The boys will want to hang out with the girls and the girls will want to be left alone to do their thing. Ah well, I will have to find something to keep the boys occupied and out of their hair. Might be a good idea to go rent a few X-Box games for the boys.
Well work seems to be drying up everywhere. Everyone I know are either laid off or about to be laid off. This is just rediculous. My online work has dried up almost completely. I only get a few jobs per week now and it is very difficult to make ends meet. If this continues, I will have to break into the kids college funds to pay the bills and that is something I definitely do not want to do. My rainy day, Christmas and emergency funds are almost depleted and we are only in the third month of the year. I am pretty good at managing money, but I am finding it difficult to do so, when there is so little money coming in. I shudder to think about what the rest of the year will be like if we don’t get some kind of reprieve soon. *sigh*
It is always fun to be able to spend quality time with your family if everyone is always on the go. Many families don’t vacation together anymore because it has gotten very costly and with the economy coming out of a recession, it’s no wonder why only parents will take a vacation or if the family does take a trip, it’s only for one or two nights. You can find cheap Cape Cod hotels when you search on Expedia’s website. There are many travel deals that you can look up when you search on the internet. So if you want to have fun and relax with your loved ones, then here’s a few ways you can do that while you are on vacation.
Go to the Beach
If you don’t live near a large body of water or the ocean and you want to take a vacation with your family to someplace warm, then you should find a city that has a nice beach. There are many things you can do with your family when you head down to the beach so everyone will have a fun time. Several activities you can do with your family include swimming, water skiing, jet skiing, laying out in the sun, volleyball, and fishing. This is just a partial list of the many activities that you can do with your family while you are on vacation.
Have a Barbeque
Everyone likes food, especially if it’s made on the grill. If you’re family likes to hang out and eat, then you should have a barbeque. If you rent a villa or a condo for the entire family to stay in, then you can either take your grill with you or use the one that comes with the place and grill out. You can have everyone in the family choose what they would like to eat and then bring it to the barbeque. If you are camping or are renting a cabin in the country, you could even start a bonfire and roast marshmallows with your entire family.
As you can see, these are two of the many ways you can relax with your family while you’re on vacation. You don’t have to bring electronics or work with you when you go on vacation and just spend some quality time with your kids and partner.
Apparently there was a problem with the processing on my payment for my cable/internet bill. I am smart enough though to write down the conformation number when I make a payment online. I woke up this morning to no cable or internet and was not happy about it, but once I called with the number, they were able to fix it. They said they were having problems with their payment system and for some reason it is not picking up all of the payments. They apologized and gave me a free On Demand movie rental for my trouble. The kids are going to love that, because I always rent the movies they want first. Yaay for us!
