Japan

Have you ever wanted to visit Japan? I want to. There is so much to see in Japan. They have such a rich history and culture. I have picked out two hotels that I would love to stay in during my visit. The first is Keio Plaza Tokyo Hotel. I really like the way it looks. I have checked it out online and the rooms and such are just plain awesome. I thought they would be small since the Japanese are into small space living, but these are not in the least bit small. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I am sure that they are as large as they are, because of the world travelers like lots of room, so they can feel at home.

The second one is actually The Ritz Carlton in Tokyo. The Ritz Carlton is very famous for their hotels as you know and who wouldn’t want to stay in one of them. I really think that either one would be great. I want to experience Tokyo in style. I would love to just travel around the world and take my time in each place I visited. I play the lottery with that thought in mind.

I would really take an entire summer to just go from place to place. I would see all of the historic sights there are as well as the natural landmarks and such. Mount Fuji would be a great sight to see in Japan as well. I have seen pictures of it’s imposing heights and the movies love to portray it as erupting in a few of them. I believe that it is an active volcano. I would have to look that up though. I don’t believe that it has erupted in a very long time though. I did see something on discovery about the park that is part of it. They say it is haunted. I wonder if that is true.

Weird news

Passengers on a flight from Australia’s northern most city of Cairns had an odd occurrence. During their two hour flight to Papa New Guinea they watched a ten foot python struggle to stay on the wing of the plane and not get tossed off by the high speed winds. One man took video of it as it happened. As the cold winds pushed it backwards, the snake would inch back up and cling to the wing of the plane. I am pretty sure that the passengers where happy that he was outside the plane rather then inside it, but I feel sorry for the snake since he did not make it. By the time they landed the snake was dead. Probably from the battering it took from the wind. It does remind me of that movie “Snakes on a plane” with Samuel L Jackson. I am rather happy that I was not on the flight myself though.

I have always had an affinity for dolphins, whales and sea turtles. I was originally born in Miami Florida and being so close to the ocean, I spent a lot of time at the beach. I went to Sea World and the Miami Seaquarium growing up and for a while, I wanted to be a marine biologist. I wanted to work with those beautiful creatures I saw at those places. They always seemed so happy and peaceful.

There is a place in the Florida Keys where you can pay to swim with the dolphins. The money goes towards research and rescue facility. They have a family of Atlantic bottle nosed dolphins and a family of California sea lions. Dolphins are very sociable mammals and love to interact with humans, both in captivity and in the wild. They have been known to save sailors and other people from drowning throughout the ages and even today. One day I hope to take my kids to the Keys to swim with the dolphins. It will be a fun and educational trip for them that they will remember forever. Perhaps this coming summer I will make a trip down there for just that. I know that they will love it.

In Australia

I didn’t tell you guys that my second cousin moved to Australia. She got an amazing job offer and they paid for the move and everything. She also found a new cellulite treatment Sydney has to offer. It is something she has fought with for a long while. She always has wanted to do something about it and now she apparently can. I am happy that she will be able to feel better about herself. When a woman doesn’t feel good about herself, it has a negative effect oh her life. I don’t want that for my cousin. This www.cellulitetreatmentbysia.com.au should help her immensely.

I am seriously thinking about taking a trip to Australia to visit her. I might even go when she has this treatment. That way if she is sore afterwards, I can give her a helping hand. Then when she is all better, we can go do the tourist thing and see all of the sights. There is so much to see there too. My mother has already offered to watch the kids if I decide to go. That way I am free to enjoy the trip to the fullest. After all, how often do you get to travel to the other side of the planet for a vacation? Not very often in my life.

To be honest, this is probably a once in a lifetime chance and I would be stupid not to take it. Add to that, the fact that my cousin needs a little help after this treatment. I can take care of two birds with one stone and feel really good about my trip. Especially, since I usually don’t take trips without my kids. I will have some latent guilt over that, but I know that I will get over it quickly. Wish me Bon Voyage’!

A cruise

A seven day cruise for the honeymoon is awesome. I can’t tell my friend about it though, because her groom wants it to be a surprise. They will be going through the Caribbean or something like that. I have never been on a cruise before. I have always wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise. Those are definitely cruises for summer time, because of the weather obviously. The Pacific is way too cold and volatile for a winter cruise.

I think I am going to check out cruises for myself. I would really like to go have a little bit of fun sometime. Perhaps my sister and I can take off together and go to Mexico. I hear the cruises to Mexico are some of the absolute best available.

The old homestead

I am at my grandparents farm for the weekend. The kids wanted to visit and spend a little time here and since they are on fall break, I thought it was a good idea. I am helping my granny do some canning and such. I love spending time with her doing this. My daughter is learning this old time skill and surprisingly enough, she is enjoying it too. There is something to be said for old school skills like this, it makes for really good family time.

I want to visit this place

Right about now, I would give just about anything to be on this beach relaxing. Winter is fast approaching and I am not looking forward to it at all this year.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be a really  hard winter, since last year was very mild. We had a lot of rain and practically no snow or ice. Calgon take me away !

Vacation Planning

I am planning a week vacation in Williamsburg, Va during the summer. I have a time share — long story –purchased years ago with a previous husband so that we had no reason not to vacation. It’s a lovely place, a five star resort and I’ve never had a bad experience there. Most people I’ve taken, wanted to live there! It’s about an hour away from Virginia Beach so I hope to spend a night in a hotel on the beach. Been awhile since I’ve had a vacation, and sadly too long since I’ve made fun plans so this is big news. Of course there is much to do in Historic Williamsburg, I love the town and the history. I have wanted to go on a Ghost Walk there, hope to get that done this trip. During the summer months an outdoor pool is open as well as the indoor pool There is a hot tub, and some rooms have saunas. Sounds super relaxing right about now, and just what I need.

It is always something!

I guess it will always be something! I go tomorrow morning for testing to see if I have Lyme Disease! Yes, i’ve been feeling poorly but attributed it only to getting older. Had a routine check up and yes, I just may have Lyme Disease.

I used to camp a lot, every other weekend. We had a little travel trailer that we pulled behind the pickup truck and would go all over the area, from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Eastern Shore. It was the best time of my life, and I still wouldn’t change it for the world.

Thankfully, Lyme is treatable, but sounds like a pain, as the antibiotics are not given in pill form but shot form. Because of the frequency, a port has to be installed, in my chest, I assume. I’ll have more information tomorrow. Stay tuned!

One invite too many

About a month ago I received a bridal shower invitation to a bridal shower I was hoping I would not have to attend.  The reason for this is because my connection is to the groom not the bride. Therefore, my level of excitement is non- existent.

I contemplated just not attending and sending a gift card instead however; I would feel   really guilty if I did this course of action.  The second biggest
problem I have with attending this shower is that I am going to be surrounded by strangers and only a few people I am familiar with.  I do not enjoy being placed in an environment that makes me uncomfortable unless it is necessary.  This situation is unnecessary.   For this one time I am going to just “buck
it up” and make the best of the party.  I know it will make the bride happy and I would want some “stranger” to do this for me.
