I would really like to build one of these greenhouses for my plants that need more humidity. I love tropical plants, yet where I live gets far too cold to plant them out of doors. During the winter a small heater can be placed inside to keep them from dying. I think it would be great to have one.
Time for planting the flowers
This is my favorite time of the year. I love the green and colors after a dull boring winter. So we are going to start the flowers this weekend. I have already prepped the seeds and the seedlings are ready to go into the ground. This is the kids favorite part, because they are allowed to get dirty and dig with mommy. We really have a great time with this.
I have a couple of bio dome gardens that are just for them to use. One has carnivorous plants like the Venus flytrap. Boys absolutely love that one. There is also a butterfly garden as well, that the girls just adore. Our next door neighbors will join us with their kids and we will do both yards. I can’t wait to see how well it turns out.
The shed
Well we decided to buy a latch clamp for the shed doors instead of the old hasp that we had previously. The hasp just didn’t keep the doors shut as well as we would like. If there were high winds, it would sometimes jiggle loose and the doors would bang around something firce. This should put an end to that problem.
Oh no
My Aunt just called and told me that she has a busted water pipe. We need to find her a plumber calgary area or there about. She is elderly and doesn’t have anyone nearby any more. Most all of her kids moved back to the States and she refuses to sell her old house and come down here as well. I really wish that she would though, because she is just too old to be living that far away from all of the family.
Don’t get me wrong. She is not completely alone. The street she lives on is full of people who adore her. They stop by to check on her and see if she needs anything, but when she does, she wont ask. I will call the neighbor that is across the street from her and have him go take a look see. At the very least he can turn off the water until the plumber gets there to fix it. I am also going to call my mom and the other aunts for them to start campaigning for her to move back here again. Every so often they all start up and she almost agrees. Maybe this will be the lucky one and she will say yes.
Working on my classic car
I’m not sure if I ever told you guys, but I bought a classic car to restore. It is a 1973 El Camino SS. It has a 350 big block engine, with an Edelbrock four barrel carborator, Edelbrock cam and a super charged distributor. I am in heaven when I drive this car and yes folks it is drive able. I will clean up the motor a little bit, but the only real work that needs to be done, is to the body.
The floorboards are rotted through and need to be fixed, as well as a few other rusted out spots. Other then that, it really is minimal body work. I am going to leave the original color, but I will put a new one on it with one addition. I am putting the racing strips back on it, that some one decided to cover up. I cannot wait to see it when it is finished.
Keeping My Son From Losing His Things
I really love my child, but my son keeps losing his things. Somehow he managed to misplace his jacket at school, and this was not the first time that he did something like this either. He also managed to lose his shoes. How does a person lose their shoes? The answer to that question still escapes me to this day, and it really does not matter because it happened. What I need to do now is focus on trying to prevent him from losing his things. This is starting to get rather expensive!
I sat down and had a long drawn out talk with my son, but we all know how that goes. I am not even sure if he was listening to me. For some reason, kids seem to have this natural ability to tune their parents out. I don’t remember doing this to my parents, but I think I must have. It must be some kind of built in defense mechanism. Then it dawned on me. I needed to start using name labels for kids. This may not prevent my son from losing his things, but it certainly would make it a lot easier to find the items that he keeps losing.
With a label, I would not need to depend on my son to not lose his things. I could handle every single bit of it myself, and all I needed was something as simple as a label. So now it was up to me to find a label that I could use to label everything that my son owned. I had a plan.
Luckily I did not have to look very far. I found stuck on you and labelcity.com. They had a wide assortment of great labels that I could choose from. Now it was only a matter of getting a bunch of labels and adding the everything that my son owned.
Power cord
I had to get a new power cord for my laptop. It quit charging and I was unable to get online this morning. I had to go to a few different places before I found what I needed. It cost sixty five dollars for the cord. I tried to find a used one, but was unable to find one that matched my computer. A universal one was like fifty bucks, so I just got the brand new one for my lappy and had done with it. It is warrantied by the manufacture for a little while at least. Now it is time to get to work.
Christmas decorations
Well the time has come to put up the Christmas tree and decorations. I dug everything we need out of the attic yesterday and will go through all of it to separate and get ready to go up. Apparently last year when I took everything down, I didn’t do the separation as I should have. I really wish I had taken the time to do that. I will have to remember to do it this year.
I usually take everything down on January first, which is why it is a tangled mess. Like everyone else I am usually tired from being up late the night before. Maybe will will wait to take it all down the following weekend. Then I won’t have to deal with this mess next year. I think that sounds like a plan. Well wish me luck with this, because it is going to take the rest of today and all of tomorrow to do. We have a lot of decorations.
Cleaning time
Time for me to crank up the music and clean the house. I can get so much more done when the kids are not at home. I just play my favorite music and clean, clean, clean. I will be tired by the end of the day, because the house got trashed over the weekend, and yesterday I was out all day running errands so couldn’t do it. Okay, then. Off I go.
So beautiful
I think this is so beautiful. I would love to have one of these in my yard. I can just see it now, as it blooms in the Spring. It would look lovely. I am going to have to find out how much one of these are. That way I can order one and plant it as soon as Spring hits. I am sure they are expensive, but totally worth it.
