Perusing more Wedding favors on the net. This is really fun. All women love weddings and love to plan them even more. I am having fun just looking at all of this stuff. The gowns, favors, cakes, invitations, and flowers are so beautiful. It is one of the best parts of being a girl. We dream of our weddings from the time we are just very little girls. We play wedding and plan all of it out in a million different ways as we get older, each year changing with the trends and times. Eventually the time comes to actually plan the real thing and every thing we have ever talked about goes out of our heads and we have to start from scratch. We don’t mind though. We love every minute of it.
Wedding favor bags
I found some neat Wedding favor bags that have little trinkets and some bird seed in it for the guests. People don’t use rice anymore because the birds eat it and it swells in their stomachs, which is bad for them. So now we use bird seed and it serves two purposes. Keeps the birds safe while allowing the tradition of throwing seed or rice for plentiful crops or fertility to continue.
I have always liked that tradition as it is so fun and signals the start of a new life for the bride of groom. It has a lot of romanticism and practicality within it.
Beach wedding favors
I have been surfing the web just looking around at different stuff and came across what I think are the neatest Beach wedding favors. Not that I am getting married, but for those of you who are, you might want to check these out. If you are having a beach themed wedding, the wedding favors that you give out will probably be beached themed as well. This site has a lot of different varieties of favors that can be customized or personalized as well. I think the little treasure chests full of shells are too cute. It adds a little bit of a pirate flavor to the beach theme. Your groom and his friends will love that!
Outback
I had the best dinner last night. I went to the Outback Steakhouse with the girls for dinner. We were supposed to go to a movie, but were enjoying the atmosphere so much, we ended up staying there after dinner. We just moved our party into the bar and watched the game that was playing on the TV. I am sure that their husbands are going to get a laugh over that one. I certainly am.
Too Funny
This is awesome ! I so would do this myself. It is definitely different and original for a wedding march. I hope everyone enjoys the video. I know that I did for sure. I might have to send this to my friend who is about to get married. She is gonna love it!
Travel to the UK
I hope someday to travel. I know that part of me is Scottish, I hope to unlock the whole puzzle of my ancestry before I die. I would love to visit the UK so I’ve been doing a little internet searching. Seems a lot of people live in apartments and they call them Flats there. That’s cute, almost as cute as their accents. I guess they would think I am the one with an accent. Anyway, my searches have lead me to Flats to rent in Glasgow, , Flats to rent in Edinburgh and Flats to rent in Aberdeen.
Although it’s been great fun looking at the photos of the homes, I have a lot more research to do as far as where I’d like to stay, whats nearby, etc. Also I am hoping more genealogy research will give me a better idea of where I’d like to travel and stay.
My particular genealogy is a bit of a huge puzzle as I hardly knew my father and know nothing about his family. Not for lack of trying on my part. I’ve actually connected recently with his youngest sister on facebook and hope (pray) she will unlock some family secrets.
Vacation Planning
I am planning a week vacation in Williamsburg, Va during the summer. I have a time share — long story –purchased years ago with a previous husband so that we had no reason not to vacation. It’s a lovely place, a five star resort and I’ve never had a bad experience there. Most people I’ve taken, wanted to live there! It’s about an hour away from Virginia Beach so I hope to spend a night in a hotel on the beach. Been awhile since I’ve had a vacation, and sadly too long since I’ve made fun plans so this is big news. Of course there is much to do in Historic Williamsburg, I love the town and the history. I have wanted to go on a Ghost Walk there, hope to get that done this trip. During the summer months an outdoor pool is open as well as the indoor pool There is a hot tub, and some rooms have saunas. Sounds super relaxing right about now, and just what I need.
Doctor’s Courses
I continue to be amazed at how much information we have available at our fingertips. I am helping a Doctor friend of mine who lives overseas do some research on Management courses she needs to take. She was going crazy trying to do the research herself considering her busy schedule. Luckily, I can help her from this side of the Pond. It didn’t take many searches to find the first class she needed information on. It was the GP Exam.
On the same web page, I also found information on the GP Application which is the first step of the program. There is more information on gp recruitment and gpst stage 3.
I have found this topic fascinating, they even have courses on Time Management and Personal Effectiveness, both issues I could certainly use help with! I may never get to the UK but my laptop allows me to feel as if I can travel to any country instantly and research whatever i’d like.
Now, I’ll email my friend with the information I found so she can look into it when she has time.
Another Blast from the Past
Found another photo that I found on Facebook from back in the day that gave me a blast from the past with lots of memories. This was the Putt Putt golf course, just a few block from the bowling alley where I used to hang out. The Putt Putt was very popular for children’s birthday parties and a nice place for dates on hot summer evenings.
The Putt Putt is also gone now. They built a huge office building in its place. I would hardly recognize the old neighborhood with so many landmarks torn down. I wonder how far the local kids have to go to find a miniature golf course where they can play with their families? Hopefully there is a place within an hour or so drive. To be honest, all I can think of might be the beaches, and those are a half day’s drive.
I’m glad that someone had the foresight to take photos of the everyday buildings and landmarks from those days. I carry my camera with me all the time and never really think to take photos of the grocery store or the fast food places, the schools or the churches. But I know that someone else is doing just that, and one day those photos will be someone else’s blast from the past.
Pre-Holiday Season
I love this time of year when people are just beginning to think about the Holiday Season. The last minute “I need to find the perfect gift” panic hasn’t kicked in yet, and people are leisurely putting up Christmas lights, door wreaths, and yard decorations. The weather has been mild lately, allowing a comfortable experience to decorate outside.
Unfortunately, before we know it, it will be panic and crunch time. People’s patience will be tested, their tempers short, and manners all but forgotten. Folks will be pushed and shoved waiting in lines, and probably more than a few toes stepped on. All of this insanity for a few minutes of opening gifts on Christmas morning.
I think it’s too bad that instead of one day, we can’t have Holiday week, allowing more time to relax and enjoy our family and friends.
