Thanksgiving

Well, Thanksgiving is in a few days.  I really wish that Thanksgiving was given a little more attention.  Years after years retail stores like to drag out the Halloween candy immediately after the Fourth of July and as soon as Halloween is over they spend what feels like only a week on Thanksgiving decorations before Christmas is taken out.

In the future it would be nice to see the stores spend more time celebrating this important holiday.  This holiday is the foundation of our country.  We should give thanks not only for all we have been given but also to the pioneers who came before us.

Shopping

Today I have to go to the grocery store to buy all of my Thanksgiving fixings.  I hope I am shopping early enough in order to avoid the rush.  Crowds are the worst when you are trying to get the items you came for and leave.

One thing I absolutely cannot forget to pick up two kinds of cranberry sauce.  One kind is the whole berry and the other is the jellied kind.  There are several people coming to dinner that prefer one or the other.  I have to make my guests happy!

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

I love Charlie Brown television specials.  They always make me feel happier after the show is over.  Charlie Brown is very lucky to have such caring friends.

Charlie Brown’s friends made sure that they were all able to eat Thanksgiving dinner together despite not having a turkey.  This television special shows that as long as people gather with others who care about them they can have a great meal and holiday even without the traditional fixings.

Harvest

Today I helped a family member harvest the remaining vegetables from their garden.  They asked me to help due to the chance of a frost.  If we leave the remaining crops out in the garden they will be soft and potentially ruined.  It is better to take the time today and get it done.

My family enjoys my help when I gave give it.  I do my best because it is important to help people whether they are your family or not.

Big Weekend

This weekend has been awesome!  Labor Day weekend is always a blast.  It is a chance to have an end of summer party.  It is a great time to enjoy the final days of warmer weather.

I had a lot of people over to my place this weekend.  We even let the children camp out in the backyard.  They always love this.  Sitting around the camp fire and reminiscing about past summer memories is perhaps the most enjoyable of all.

Happy birthday sis

Today my baby sister turns 47, I know she will kill me for telling everyone how old she is. I guess she will just have to get over it. I am past thinking about getting old and I just turned 51. I know that I fell good and she is in better shape than I am. I wish I was a skinny as she is, I have never been skinny and I never will be but I am happy and that is all that matters. Happy birthday sis and I hope you have many more. I love you and hope you have a great day.

Winter

The one season that I dislike the most is the winter time, I would say that I hate it except winter has Christmas and that I do love as much for my kids sake as mine. The family seems to get closer at Christmas time and that seems to make winter a much more tolerable to me. After Christmas it will be back to the winter blues. I can not wait for spring, it is my favorite season and every year spring pulls me out of my winter funk and puts a smile on my face. Come on Spring we are waiting on you!

Happy birthday sis

Yesterday would of been my sisters 49th birthday, and she is in my thoughts today. Well she is always in the back of my mind but today she is in the front, and I miss her a lot. We could always talk and I miss that a lot. She was the rock who made my life much easier to take. Being the oldest is a tough job and my two little sisters made that a whole lot easier for me to deal with. Happy birthday Robin I know that you atre still watching over me.

The plan

My best friend Beth has decided to have the Breast Augmentation surgery and I support her decision 100%. She did a lot of soul searching and got a lot of input from me, I do not know if that was much help or not. One web site that she has used to help herself with this important decision was the web site Looking Your Best. They have a great web site with so much useful information.

After a lot of talking and checking information Beth has decided to go forward and I think she made her decision from the web site at Looking Your Best and I know she will be alright from what I have learned from their very helpful web site too. I will be thinking about this life changing procedure myself and when I start to make that decision I too will be checking out the web site at Looking Your Best.

Safe and sound

In these very troubled times I want to make sure that my home and family are safe and sound.  I use ADT Home Security to make sure we are safe and all of our property is safe at the same time. Being a single mom that has two jobs and does work a lot my kids being safe while at home is very important to me and I strive to make sure they are very safe.

I use ADT Home Security to make sure my home is safe because they have the best name in home security and I trust them with the lives of me and my kids. Not to mention the property we have worked to have, the protection of the things in your home is very important too.
