I just found the Shell packs my son wants. He is going to be so happy. He has been asking for a drum set forever and all of the ones we saw, just weren’t right. After talking to his band teacher at school, he gave me a really good site to look on and there they were. Just what we need and the price is just right. I can’t wait to show my son.
Tomorrows the big day
Well the kids go back to school tomorrow and the house is going to be very quiet during the day. On one hand I am looking forward to the peace and quiet during the day, but I am sorry that summer is over.
The back to school grind is going to be a little hard at first. The kids won’t want to get up after the first day and it will be a struggle, but they will get over it soon enough.
Another instrument
Well my daughter just told me that she wants to learn the flute next year in school. She has apparently decided to join the band. One of her friends is in the band and told her that the teacher didn’t get enough students to sign up, so there are still slots open for other students. One of the instruments that they need is a flute player, so she has decided to give it a try. I really hope I don’t spend a lot of money for something she will drop later. Wish me luck !
Three day weekend
I completely forgot that this was a three day weekend. I started to get the kids up for school this morning, but fortunately I started with my eldest who informed me that it is MLK Jr. day and he has no school. He then told me to go back to bed and rolled over and went back to sleep. I had to chuckle over that. Made my day though, I went back to bed and slept in for another four hours. When the kids woke up, they didn’t even wake me up. My kids made themselves some pop tarts and have been playing games ever since. They are such good kids.

Seascape
I have always had an affinity for dolphins, whales and sea turtles. I was originally born in Miami Florida and being so close to the ocean, I spent a lot of time at the beach. I went to Sea World and the Miami Seaquarium growing up and for a while, I wanted to be a marine biologist. I wanted to work with those beautiful creatures I saw at those places. They always seemed so happy and peaceful.
There is a place in the Florida Keys where you can pay to swim with the dolphins. The money goes towards research and rescue facility. They have a family of Atlantic bottle nosed dolphins and a family of California sea lions. Dolphins are very sociable mammals and love to interact with humans, both in captivity and in the wild. They have been known to save sailors and other people from drowning throughout the ages and even today. One day I hope to take my kids to the Keys to swim with the dolphins. It will be a fun and educational trip for them that they will remember forever. Perhaps this coming summer I will make a trip down there for just that. I know that they will love it.
Keeping My Son From Losing His Things
I really love my child, but my son keeps losing his things. Somehow he managed to misplace his jacket at school, and this was not the first time that he did something like this either. He also managed to lose his shoes. How does a person lose their shoes? The answer to that question still escapes me to this day, and it really does not matter because it happened. What I need to do now is focus on trying to prevent him from losing his things. This is starting to get rather expensive!
I sat down and had a long drawn out talk with my son, but we all know how that goes. I am not even sure if he was listening to me. For some reason, kids seem to have this natural ability to tune their parents out. I don’t remember doing this to my parents, but I think I must have. It must be some kind of built in defense mechanism. Then it dawned on me. I needed to start using name labels for kids. This may not prevent my son from losing his things, but it certainly would make it a lot easier to find the items that he keeps losing.
With a label, I would not need to depend on my son to not lose his things. I could handle every single bit of it myself, and all I needed was something as simple as a label. So now it was up to me to find a label that I could use to label everything that my son owned. I had a plan.
Luckily I did not have to look very far. I found stuck on you and labelcity.com. They had a wide assortment of great labels that I could choose from. Now it was only a matter of getting a bunch of labels and adding the everything that my son owned.
DIY no sew dress
I found this awesome video that is a DIY for making a no sew off the shoulder dress. Not only can you make it yourself, but it costs under five dollars. I am going to start posting DIY videos to help everyone find these neat projects. I am going to buy some material and stuff to make myself this dress for the New Years celebration that is just over a week away. I know that it is going to look amazing. Hope you like this video.
Well the kids are home
The kids got home from school and of course, there has already been a problem on the bus now that the bus driver is back. I am going to the school first thing in the morning to deal with my son being attacked by another student. I have had enough of this. When I am done at the school, I will be going to the school board to file a complaint. I will bring an end to this problem immediately. I have never had this kind of problems with a school bus driver before. Ugh!
Repair manuals
Gosh, repair manuals are expensive. It cost like thirty dollars for a repair manual for a vehicle. Some are more than that, but basic cars and trucks are averaged about the same. I cannot believe how much they charge for them. I guess we don’t have a choice though if we are going to re build this car. It is a project for us to do together. Yes, as a woman, I like to work on cars and learn more about them. It makes it much easier to know what is going on with mine and not to get taken in if I have to take it to a garage.
