Busted pipe

Well this is not good. We ended up with a busted pipe in the basement and there was more damage than we thought. The pipe burst while we were sleeping and we had no clue. By the time I noticed that something was wrong, the basement was knee deep in water. The plumber came and fixed the pipe, as well as pumped the water out for us, but now we have to worry about water damage repair.

The carpets down there will have to come up or be professionally cleaned. The drywall is totally ruined as well. Fortunately, the furniture that is down there in the family room, is rather old so I am not really worried about it. I bought it used so that the kids couldn’t really ruin anything nice. Kids do have a tendency to make a mess and spill stuff so it was smart on my part. I will go find some second hand stuff and buy it cheap, just like I did the first time.

This is where I wish I was

I wish I was sitting by the water somewhere in warm weather with a cocktail in my hand. I think that the endless cold weather and constant problems from the past few months have finally caught up with me. I am ready for summer and BBQ’s and relaxation. *sigh*

Hot

I cannot believe the heat this week. It’s supposed to get up to 105 degree’s this weekend. That is hot. We don’t usually have heat like this, but this year looks like it is going to soar. Most times it only gets really hot during August, it is especially odd for June. Yesterday the weather was mild and the change is going to be drastic. It will definitely be a “do something in the water” weekend. I guess we will go to the river or down to the creek to keep cool.

I love my life

Things are looking up so far for this year and I am fabulously happy. Spring is here, the weather is awesome and I am so ready for summer to get here as well. All that I need is for the water to warm up, so we can swim in the river and boating season will be in full swing. I just want to put on my bathing suit and chill in the sun four days on end, and I intend to as soon as humanly possible. We are almost there.
