Autumn fashion

Autumn is here and the fashion world is abuzz with all the new fashion houses showing off their new lines of clothing. We women are now in the clothing frenzy time of year after having bought the children their school clothes, now it is our turn. Finding good fashions when you are pregnant can be disheartening sometimes, but not to worry, even the maternity lines are much better then they used to be.

Comfort is the most important part of fashion when you are pregnant. Whatever you buy for your maternity clothes should be able to be worn for your entire pregnancy and also be very comfortable at the same time. You body is going through a lot of uncomfortable changes as you grow larger and restrictive clothing will make you feel as if you are being smothered. Nor will it do any good for your temperament when your hormones are already going crazy on you.

If your budget is already strained, there are several things you can do for maternity clothes to start, like

  • Raiding your husband or significant others wardrobe. Large t-shirts and such will help you immensely in the interim.
  • Borrow from friends and family that have just gone through their pregnancies. There are a lot of them if you sit and think about it a few minutes.
  • Go to thrift stores for your pants and skirts. You can buy a larger selection for less money.
  • You can actually lease maternity clothes. After all, you only need them for a little while until you lose that weight, so why not.

Some items are a little more difficult to manage, but there are companies that specialize in them. For instance, you can buy ruPreggers.com maternity tights online and have them delivered right to your door. Utilize as much of your own accessories as possible. No you can’t wear that belt with an outfit like you used to, but you can use a large scarf instead.

As you shop for your maternity clothes with the new fall fashions in mind, remember that all trends come back eventually and if there is something that you miss this time around, well you can always get it later. Don’t stress out over it. Look for the new maternity fashions instead and see what is trending there and you will definitely be happier for it.

Keep in mind, that after you give birth, you may not fit in those maternity clothes any longer, but still be unable to wear your normal clothes right away. Make sure you have a couple of outfits that are in between sizes so that you aren’t at a loss for something to wear. Believe it or not, sweats or something like it are the best thing to have after the baby comes. You will be very busy and very tired, so looking good is the last thing that will be on your mind. Comfort and ease of access will be the only thing you care about at that point.

Mother’s Day

Well Mother’s Day is this weekend and I am getting a surprise ready for my mom and my boyfriends mom. I have invited them out to breakfast on Friday and we are going to meet here at my house. After breakfast I am taking them to a day spa for a full day of “the works”. My father and my boyfriend have helped pay for it. I am paying for my mom, my hunny is paying for his mom and my dad is paying for me. That helped a lot for sure. We all get to have a relaxing day and enjoy ourselves. I am so looking forward to this.

We are going here

I just had to share a laugh with you!!

Granny is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car. She writes:

Dear Grand-daughter,

The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a ‘Honk if you love Jesus’ bumper sticker. I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting. So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.

Boy, am I glad I did; what an uplifting experience that followed. I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn’t notice that the light had changed.  It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn’t honked, I’d never have noticed. I found that lots of people love Jesus! While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, ‘For the love of God! Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!’ What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus!

Everyone started honking! I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those loving people. I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love! There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach.

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant. He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something. Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii, so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back. My grandson burst out laughing. Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!! A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me. I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed. So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on through the intersection.

I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that. I had to leave them after all the love we had shared. So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!
Will write again soon,
Love,
Granny

Ball with the kids

We had a great day today. We decided to get out of the house while we can before winter gets here, and go to the park. There is a couple of baseball diamonds there and we played ball with the kids for hours. The little guy got to go play for a little while on the playground as well. We did lose one ball over the back fence. As we were in the back field that butted up to the woods, we had to go search for it and found a ton of baseballs as well as a couple of softballs. Some had apparently been there for a long time and were about ruined, but the kids were happy to find them anyway. They will play with them with the dog and that way he won’t get their good baseballs and tear them up. It was a great day.

Bucket list

Do you have a bucket list? Ever since the movie came out people are always telling me what is on their bucket list. I have a few things and have had to remove one or two over the years.

  1. Dancing ( a waltz) with Sean Connery.  I mean what woman wouldn’t want to do that?
  2. Skydiving. Personally I think this is on just about everyone I know list.
  3. Travel around the world. Not sure how that is going to work out as it is a little dangerous to travel right now.
  4. Attend a Hollywood A list party. Okay meeting all your favorite entertainers would be fun. Admit it.
  5. A cruise and or deep sea fishing. I have never been out on the ocean only to the beach.

What’s on your bucket list?

My new motto

I think I am going to adopt this as my new motto. My friends and family might think I am crazy or have totally lost it, but hey, who cares. I am going to be positive from now on no matter what. I don’t care what life throws at me, I plan on weathering the storm with as much calm as possible. I think it is a better way to be then to get upset all the time.

awesome
Be awesome all day!

Jason Aldean

I love Jason Aldean. I really want to see him in concert if I can. I am not sure when he may be coming back here, but I am keeping my eye out for any news and plan on buying tickets the second they go on sale. Hopefully, it will happen soon because I am really looking forward to it.

Kids

So the kids decide to play in the woods… great. One comes back with blood down his leg and can’t figure out how it got there. After cleaning it up and looking closely at it to make sure it isn’t a snake bite, I have come to the conclusion that he must have gotten it from thorn bushes that abound out there. I have told them over and over to STAY OUT OF THE WOODS. There are snakes and they could be bitten. Do they listen? Nope.

Can I go back to bed? I want to start this day over. *smh*

Diabetes

Okay so some of you are aware that I have type two diabetes. I “control” it through my food intake rather than medicine. I don’t believe in taking a ton of meds when it is not necessary. However I have dropped the ball here lately since I have been so busy. I really haven’t been eating right. I decided to change that and to add some vitamins to my daily intake as well. I found a daily packet that has five different vitamins that are good for women my age. Believe it or not, age is a factor when taking vitamins. At different ages you need different ones for different things. Like for heart and bones and such. I am happy that I made this small but important change in my life.

Conference for work today

I had a conference with the CEO a little while ago about policy and procedure. Things have just not been working right and there has been a lot of miss-communication between departments. There needs to be a set parameter of how things are done and there used to be, but no one seems to be following them now. Apparently they are trying to find better ways to work things and messing it all up in the process. It has been driving me absolutely crazy all week. *sigh* I need a vacation!
