Ally and her latte moments
I think I am going bonkers today. These kids have been on it all day and I haven’t been able to get any work done at all other than laundry. The rain over the past couple of days has kept them indoors and they are chock full of energy. It has only just started to be sunny outside in the last 15 minutes. However, it is so muddy out now, that sending them outside is not an option unless I want to have to hose them down before they come back in. Blah!
One of the towns nearby wasn’t able to have their fireworks celebration due to rain, so they are having it today. I have decided to take the kids, so they can see another fireworks show. They don’t know yet and I am not telling them. We will load up and go there later on and let them be surprised. I really love surprising the kids with special stuff like this.
Oh the joys of rain non stop. I checked the weather and we are going to have rain for another two days at least. On Tuesday it will be a rain snow mix according to MSN. Such dreary weather is depressing. I can’t wait for spring, but I won’t be looking forward to the storms we get at that time. They have become more violent over the years with a lot of tornadoes. I am scared to death of those things. Anyway, before I scare myself silly, I will find something else to talk about.
Well the weather has turned a bit nasty outside. Not only has it been very cold, but now it is raining. Unfortunately it is not cold enough to snow. We just get this cold wet rain that makes everyone miserable. I hope that it doesn’t go down to freezing tonight, or we will have nothing but ice in the morning. That would not be good. Snow is good, ice is bad.
The kids are hoping that it will snow, but the weather man says that the rain is going to pass us by and there will be no snow. Poor babes want to build a snowman. I want to have a nice snowball fight with them. Hopefully, we can have a white Christmas and everyone will be happy.
Couldn’t find the umbrella for the kids this morning. They had to stand on the porch and wait until they heard the bus turn onto the street. Then they ran down the hill and got there just in time. We really should build or put up some kind of over hang or something. That way they can stand under it in inclement weather. It is a definite thought anyway.
It is a nasty day outside, with lots of rain. We have so many errands to run and so little time to do it all. I think it is time to start the morning off with a little music. Lets see if I can get my music to post on here, so you can listen in with me as well.
I just bought some decorations for the outside of the house. They are these really neat things called rain chains. I can’t wait to see them in action. You attach them to the soffet of the house and when it rains the water runs down them either off the drain catch or into a bowl or bucket. It depends on the look you want for your house. The chains rain at my house in the back, runs down into a series of bowls like a water fall. It is going to be so pretty.
The rain chain in the front will run off down where the gutter drain used to be on both sides. It looks really neat just the way it is right now and I can imagine how it will look when it rains. I may have to sit on my front porch and just watch the rain for a while. Well, I know I will do that anyway. I love to watch the rain so long as it is not a bad storm or anything like that.
The tornado warnings have kicked off spring with a heck of a bang. I heard on the news that there were at least five deaths in Indiana today. As if the rain all winter with no snow wasn’t bad enough, now we are going to have serious storms and lots of rain and hail to go with it. I hope we don’t get the flooding we had two years ago. Nashville was under water and still hasn’t completely recovered from it. There are lots of businesses that haven’t yet reopened yet. Not looking forward to spring, but I can’t wait till summer gets here.
I have discussed the weather before I am sure, but this is just annoying. Supposedly, it is going to snow this weekend, but they cannot say how much snow versus rain we will get. This winter has been so confusing that the weather people don’t know whether they are coming or going. I know that it must be driving them nuts, at least for our area. I cannot wait for spring, but I am not looking forward to the tornadoes and flooding…zzzz
Just got home from taking my youngest child to school at the Head Start program. The weather is really nasty out there, but at least it is not freezing as well. It is just very rainy outside. He was not happy about the rain because that means he can’t play on the playground today at school. He loves that playground and has so much fun at preschool. I am so happy that he is finally willing to go to school now. He used to scream when I had to put him in day care, but not anymore. What a good boy he is.
