I believe that spiritual beliefs should be personal. I have come to completely dislike organized religion. Everyday you hear things about one religion or another that is totally disgusting. People believing that others should die or go to hell, yet claim in the next sentence that their God is a loving forgiving God. It is hypocrisy in the highest order and drives me nuts. People should not be so worried with how other people worship and should be more worried with their own personal choices when it comes to religion. To bad they cannot seem to understand that.
Well this is new
We were supposed to be replacing our cluster mailbox that was ruined by a recent storm, but the post office has suggested that we may be allowed to have individual mailboxes at our homes. I really like this idea as my kids frequently like to go get the mail and this is a shorter walk. A mailbox at the end of our drive would be really nice and if I buy a pretty one that matches the other improvements I have been making , it will be adorable.
I can choose one with a flower box in it or possibly one that has scrolling decorations on it. Either way I am looking forward to the new residential mailboxes I will see lining the streets out where we live. It will give the neighborhood a newer look or at least a slightly different one. I am happy this decision has been made as I much prefer my own mailbox at home.
Election year
Well this election year looks to be full of the obligatory scandal as can possibly be. The back stabbing, wavering back and forth and taking side has officially begun and is officially making me sick to my stomach already. Our electoral process is broken as far as I am concerned. The two party system just does not work. I am beginning to think we need to go with a route somewhat similar to Jury duty, but with elections of the candidates that are chosen who no one knows.
So cute
I found these adorable window boxes to put up outside the upstairs windows. I might even put a few downstairs as well, but I am not sure. I already have flowers seeds to grow and they come in vinyl, wood, metal or fiberglass. I am thinking either wood or fiberglass, but the metal ones I really like the most. Hanging the windowbox will be easy as I can use my neighbors back hoe to lift me up and it is much more steady then a ladder.
My new flower boxes will look so pretty, that I am so excited. I have some nice perennials in varying colors that I am thinking about putting in them. Pinks, purples and blues look so lovely, but then again I love flowers of all kinds and colors. I have to remember to get some good potting soil for them as I want the best nutrients for my flowers. Oh and I have to get plant food as well. Must not forget that.
Game night
Tonight is game night for myself and the children. I love having a game night. We gather around the dinning room table to play a game and laugh a lot. I usually have to pick the game myself since leaving it up to the kids means an argument over which game we should play. The only time I let them pick is if they come to me having already agreed without a fight.
Friend moving
My best friend is moving to Los Angeles, California. I am going to miss her so very much. Her husband is being transferred with his job and the pay raise is worth the move for them. So of course we are looking for Los Angeles movers to help with her move. This is going to be so hard watching her leave. We have never lived very far from each other our entire lives. LA movers will be the ones doing their move when the time comes.
I think I will throw a big going away party for them and invite all of our friends and family. Thankfully we have had a mild winter and seem to be continuing that way. This enables me to pick a nice weekend and have the party out of doors complete with BBQ and maybe a game of softball like we love to do during the summer time. I have to do it before the Los Angeles moving company comes though and that is not very far away. so I have to pray for the rain to go away and stay away for a while.
Enlightenment
Buddha’s wisdom helps bring enlightenment and peace within. I thoroughly enjoy reading his words of wisdom as they are always correct and bring me serenity.
Rash of break in’s
Well do to a rash of break in’s around the area, I have decided to have a Home Alarm System installed in the house. I really do not like having to do this, but the children’s safety and peace of mind is more important to me then anything else. The kids have been worried about it since one of their friends houses was robbed while the family was in their beds sleeping. Home Security Systems provide the peace of mind that we need to sleep well at night. I don’t want my children having nightmares or jumping at every sound that happens in our home.
I have done research on different companies and systems and have decided that I want an ADT Home Security system to be put in. They were the most highly recommended system of all that I researched. I even asked various family and friends before I decided. it is my hope that this will make the children feel better.
Kids and School
Oh, I just love the after school homework routine. Okay, not really. Sometimes it can be a real challenge to get the children to do their homework. There is always one who doesn’t feel like doing it on any given day. Therefore there is never a reprieve. I always have to stand over one of them to make sure they don’t dilly dally about. It can be very grating on the nerves, but I am very good at holding my temper. I simply tell them that if it doesn’t get done, they will do nothing for the rest of the week that is remotely fun. It works most of the time, but not always.
Nice chat
Well my neighbor just came over for a little visit. We sat and talked for about an hour over coffee and some homemade pie she brought with her. We discussed our plans for our gardens this year and how big we had decided to go with it. Her husband is kind enough to bring his tractor over and plow my garden area for me since I don’t have one myself. I have thought about investing in one but just haven’t got to that point yet.
She said her husband suggested that we plow a whole field this year and set up a vegetable stand to sell the excess. We could take turns running it and split the county fees if we both contributed crops to sell from it. I think it would be a fine idea, but I also know that it would be a lot of work too. I will have to give it some thought before I commit to it.
