Wedding invitations

So themed Wedding invitations or generic is the question. If it is a normal wedding with no apparent theme, then generic wedding invitations will do, although you can choose the invitations in the wedding colors if you like. If there is a theme to the wedding then you have to decide if you want the guests to know ahead of time what that theme is, or if you want it to be a surprise.

No matter what you choose, RSVP cards are definitely necessary. This helps to know how much food and drink will be needed for the reception. After all, you don’t want to spend unnecessary money on too much food that will only go to waste. Careful planning can save money to be used on other stuff for the wedding, or for the honeymoon afterwards.

Human again

Finally I feel human again. I was having trouble waking up and just felt dragged down, so I went and got a nice long hot shower. Instead of working in my pj’s, I am now dressed and ready to rock n roll. There is so much to do today and the time has come for me got busy. When I am done with my computer work, I will work on the house itself, but not until I am done here.

The kids are happily content watching the new Batman movie for now and I should be able to finish all I have to do on here before they are done with the movie. At least, I hope so. So let me get something to drink and then I can get down to work.

Wedding favors

Hmmm, the Wedding favors are a thank you gift to the guests, but should not be too expensive. They are a token of appreciation, that also serve as a memory of the joining of two lives. Some people settle for something simple, like a match book with the bride and grooms names and the wedding date on them. Others, have gone more exotic and put little glass containers with Beta fish in them. The guests end up with a pet to take home with them. That is actually a pretty neat idea. Finding something unique is usually a brides first intent, and affordable is the second.

Big breakfast

I made a big breakfast this morning for the family. I usually do every Sunday, but lately have kind of dropped the ball on it. Sometimes life seems to get in the way and our normal routine gets all messed up. It takes a lot of concentrated effort to put everything back into place. So, I am putting things back into place one step at a time.

Routine is important to kids because it makes them feel safe and secure. I know that is going to be difficult with the holidays here, but I will do it anyway. Usually we already have our tree up and that hasn’t happened yet either. Hopefully that is one other thing I can accomplish today as well.

Unity candle ceremony

So I think she has decided on a Unity candle ceremony. It is a very beautiful ceremony that makes a lasting memory. Plus, when the ceremony is over, you have the candles to use as decorations for your house. It is a win/win situation. Plus the candles are amazingly beautiful. I hope she doesn’t change her mind about this part, because I really like the idea. I have seen one of these ceremonies before and it was great. I have thought that if I were to ever get married again, I might have to do this particular ceremony, or something like it. I will keep you updated on what we are doing and maybe it can help some of you as well.

Favorite child
We have a winner!

Not really, but I will definitely be happier when my youngest quits getting up at the crack of dawn on the weekends. I would really love to be able to sleep in late sometime. My eldest will help once in a while and get up with him, but he still comes into my room every five minutes so trying to sleep is really pointless. Ah the joys of motherhood!

Wedding decorations

I am helping a friend plan her wedding and the wedding decorations are what I am working on right now. We are still unsure exactly what colors she wants and may end up with a tye dyed rainbow if we can’t pick one soon. It is really too funny, because just when we think we have it, something better looking pops up and we have to start from scratch again. This isn’t easy to do when you aren’t really sure what you want. I am sure that a lot of brides are like that though. I am beginning to understand the thought process behind Bridezillas.

Back to bed

I was up really early this morning to get some work done and I am tired. I got the kids off to school and the bus was late as usual, but I think a couple more hours sleep is just what I need. I will warm my coffee back up later and drink it. This girl needs some beauty sleep. Wish me sweet dreams and say goodnight. Hasta la vista!

Thinking about moving

I have been looking at real estate louisville ky and seriously thinking about moving there. It’s not really that far away and most of my family is there. My parents live halfway between here and there, so it wouldn’t make a difference one way or another. The kids aren’t too keen on it though. They would miss their friends and schools and such. I will take their feelings into consideration before I uproot them. After all, it is their life too.

For the boys

For Christmas this year, one of the presents I am getting the boys is Tuff Hedeman Cowboy Hats. They have been asking for a cowboy hat for a while now, but since they are kind of pricey, I didn’t want to get them until I knew they would take care of them. Like most boys, mine have a tendency to drop whatever they have in their hands or one them right on the floor. Then they step all over whatever it is and if it wasn’t dirty before they dropped it, it is afterwards. Now that they are a bit older, I think they will be able to take care of the hats. I will put up some hat pegs in their room, so they can hang them up. That should work nicely.
