I was up really early this morning to get some work done and I am tired. I got the kids off to school and the bus was late as usual, but I think a couple more hours sleep is just what I need. I will warm my coffee back up later and drink it. This girl needs some beauty sleep. Wish me sweet dreams and say goodnight. Hasta la vista!
Thinking about moving
I have been looking at real estate louisville ky and seriously thinking about moving there. It’s not really that far away and most of my family is there. My parents live halfway between here and there, so it wouldn’t make a difference one way or another. The kids aren’t too keen on it though. They would miss their friends and schools and such. I will take their feelings into consideration before I uproot them. After all, it is their life too.
Blah
When I bought this house, I wanted it to be close to the kids schools. However, I didn’t realize that they would be the first ones on the bus and the last ones off of it. They are on the bus for at least an hour every day and have to get up really early to catch it. I have had constant problems with the new bus driver too. She is inattentive to the kids and what they talk about. The other driver had much more control over the kids and could manage to get here on time without calling out sick constantly either. This has gotten ridiculous to the point that I had to call the transportation department and make a complaint about her. I told the director that he needed to put the old bus driver back on this bus and right away.
So cold
It is amazingly cold this morning. I had to bundle the kids up really good before they could go catch the bus. I think I will make a big pot of Chili for dinner tonight. I love making stews, chili and such when the weather is cold. It seems like it really warms you up from the inside out.
Time to clean the carpets
The time has come to do some carpet cleaning. It has been a long while since I have had this done and the carpets are looking ragged. Kids have a tendency to track in everything under the sun and spill everything they hold in their hands. Mine are no different. I try to keep them from doing this with certain rules about removing muddy shoes or no carrying food into other rooms, but we all know how well that works. Pretty much not at all. I am considering cleaning them more often.
My carpets are not that old. I had them put in when I bought this house five years ago and they should last a long time. Keeping them cleaned will help with that. I am also going to have to be firmer with the kids about taking drinks into the living room. I have such a weak spot when it comes to them. I wonder if I should have to couches done as well? That might be a good idea, as they are a couple of spots on them from spills. Although those were not from the kids. Those happened when an outdoor BBQ got rained on and everyone had to move inside. Oh well, I will decide later on that.
Cool planetarium
I would so love to take my kids here. This is a really cool looking place. The kids love to go to the planetarium. They have been on field trips there before and are always begging me to take them back. I would really like to take them to a larger one, but even more, I want to take them to an observatory. That would be amazingly cool.
Pow wow
I took the kids to the Indian Pow wow this past weekend. We had so much fun and the kids learned so much. A friend of mine has a daughter who was the Pow wow princess this year and last year. The kids thought it was really neat that they knew someone who was actually in the ceremonies. They made me promise to bring them again next year. I told them that there would be another one in the spring and we would certainly go.
Center of the Earth
The kids are watching the Center of the Earth movie with Brendan Frasier. They are so funny. The fish in the movie scared them. My little guy started yelling and jumped about three feet into the air. I wish I had the camcorder out for that one. It would have made a great moment to save. I think I am going to have to keep it out more often.
Big bonfire tonight
With the turning of the weather, bonfire time is definitely here and the kids are so excited. We just love this time of year. We will roast marshmallows and such tonight after dinner as we gather around the bonfire. My family is coming as well. I think we will have the last BBQ of the year, even though it is cold. I haven’t made up my mind about what to cook yet, so that is not set in stone, so to speak. We shall see.
New TV for the kids
Well the old TV the kids had fell and the port for the cable ripped out of the back. We are going to buy them a flat screen TV that can be mounted on the wall and cannot fall. The wall mount for it will be attached to the studs inside the walls and be much more secure for them. I am kind of glad that we are switching to the flat screen as the other TV fell on top of one of the boys and he could have been injured.
