Sounds like my kind of doctor

A friend of mine sent me this and I don’t know just how true it is or if this doctor even exists but he sure sounds like my kind of doctor!!

His practice has no room for new patients! Now, he’s a medical wizard! I love this Doctor

Q: Doctor, I’ve heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?

A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it… Don’t waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speed up heart not make live longer; that like say you can extend life of car by driving faster. Want live longer? Take nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does cow eat? Hay and corn. What are these? Vegetables. So, steak nothing more than efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef also good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And pork chop can give 100% recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine. That means they take water out of fruity bit; get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: If you have body and you have fat, ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?

A: Cannot think of single one, sorry. My philosophy: No Pain…Good!

Q: Aren’t fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU NOT LISTENING!!! …. Foods fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only do sit-ups if want bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: You crazy? HELLO …. Cocoa beans! Vegetable!!! Cocoa beans best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming good for figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! ‘Round’ is shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

AND…..For those of you who watch what you eat, here’s the final word on nutrition and health. It’s a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies:

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION…..Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

I can’t believe people still don’t have health insurance

I am very lucky – I get health insurance from the company that I work with, as a benefit. But a lot of my friends and relatives don’t have that, and they struggle to find affordable health insurance. I can’t believe that so many of them still don’t have any health insurance at all! I’m recommending to them to check out the information I found on the nc health agency web page to see if they can help them get affordable health insurance. Nobody should have to go without medical treatment!

Take care of your teeth

Your health is the most important thing you have. Ensuring your continued good health can be directly related to your teeth. We are taught very early to brush our teeth, our schools even advocate good dental hygiene as we are growing up, but did you know that your teeth can tell your doctor a lot about your health? A doctor can look into your mouth and see if you have one of several diseases from what he sees.

  • Tooth loss can tell your doctor that you have osteoporosis or bone loss or even kidney disease .
  • Pale gums can indicate that your are anemic or have low iron in your blood.
  • Loss of tooth enamel can indicate an eating disorder, such as bulimia.
  • Thrush (typically found in babies) can indicate in an adult that they might have HIV or Diabetes.
  • Gum disease could very well tell your doctor that you have rheumatoid arthritis. Or in pregnant women could indicate that they will have a premature birth for their baby.

This of course is not always the case but it is one way the doctor can gauge your health, with just a peek into your mouth. In order to keep your teeth healthier, you might want to use a softer toothbrush to start. It will help keep you from accidentally brushing away your tooth enamel. Chewing sugar free gum and brushing with baking soda will help keep your teeth healthy since they get rid of that pesky plaque and stains. Don’t forget to floss daily either. This will help keep the areas between your teeth clean, and keep your gums healthy in the process.

Did you know that brushing your teeth can help keep you from getting sick? Plaque is a bacteria and bacterial infections can give you pneumonia and other respiratory diseases. Brushing will also ensure a healthier pregnancy and help keep a woman from having a baby with low birth weight. Brushing your teeth after you eat will also help with weight loss since everything usually tastes awful afterwards and you are less likely to snack.

Gum disease has a direct correlation to how well you think. According to the American Dental Association “People with gum disease have more risk of having lower cognitive function than people with normal cognitive function” For men, brushing their teeth religiously can improve their sex life, or at least keep it from disintegrating. Oral bacteria can cause ED, otherwise known as erectile dysfunction, by narrowing the blood vessels that are needed for the organ to grow.

We all want our teeth to be healthy, white and have that winning smile, and sometimes even though we brush religiously we still need help from dentists like Dr David Morrow Orthodontist to straighten them to achieve it. But the end results are worth every visit and whatever we must go through. So don’t be scared to visit your dentist or orthodontist and make sure you have the good health and awesome smile that you want to have.

Healthcare is an important part of our economy

Healthcare is one of the most important parts of our economy. No matter where you live, the healthcare industry employs more people than any other industry. Likewise, when it comes to technology, the healthcare industry is at the head of the class. Medical technology helps in many different ways, from CAT scans, ultrasounds and MRI’s that diagnose problems inside the body or monitor a child before it is born, to the computers that keep our information and data organized. This technology allows us easier access in almost every possible way. Improving healthcare around the world has become a global focus. Information technology is on the forefront of that care. Sharing data from country to country and city to city to keep our citizens safe from disease and epidemics as well as normal healthcare.

The electronic medical records software is imperative for doctors and nurses to keep our records and monitor our progress. Without this software, we would still have to deal with lost or misplaced files that could mean a serious loss of time and test results. Today when you go to the doctor, you rarely ever see a paper file. There are laptops in every room, or the nurses carry I Pads to keep track of all your records and results. The new software and technology helps to cut down their time spent inputting data. This allows them to complete their jobs quicker and allow for the doctors to see more patients. Considering the rapidly growing population, it is imperative that time saving technologies be learned and used to the best advantage. Believe it or not, it also saves the environment as well, since they only print out what is absolutely necessary to give to you, thereby saving trees from being cut down unnecessarily.

As new technology is invented and implemented, sometimes we get to try new things. The new Google Glass is one such technology that looks to be very promising. This technology could help nurses and doctors to get information the very second it is uploaded and available. For instance; If a doctor in a emergency room or operation room is in need of certain test results and has the Google Glass, he/she can immediately access the results the minute the they are available. This could help to save a persons life, especially in an ER where finding out a persons blood type before giving them blood could mean life or death for that patient.

Not all areas of the medical fields are thrilled with the new gadgets that come out. They can be very resistant to “change”, especially in the older generations, but time has already proven that the more we go forward, the better off mankind is as a whole. The old adage that it is hard to teach on old dog new tricks simply doesn’t apply any longer. In a world of new and rapidly growing technology, it is a keep up mentality. While this may make it necessary for continuing education, the advantages are clear.

Choose Your Pain

One of my Facebook friends was mugged. He got beat up pretty badly. Because he does not have any insurance he refused to go to the hospital. But he posted this questions on his Facebook wall this morning:

“What hurts worse? A broken rib, an abscessed tooth, or a concussion?”

What a horrible thing to have to choose which pain you can take care of know that you will have to just endure the others. My heart goes out to anyone who has to neglect their health and well being because they cannot get health insurance.
