Ducks for our pond

We have a nice big pond on our property. The kids want to put ducks in it, so I have been looking around to see where to find Ducks for Sale. I have a place where we buy our Chicken Breeds, and I know they sell ducks as well. I found all kinds of neat Duck breeds online. The prettiest ones are the Mandarin Ducks, and they are really expensive. I would love to have a pair of them, but I don’t want to have to worry about anyone stealing them.

When I Buy Ducks, I will definitely be getting a breed that is pretty. The Mallards are most likely what I am going to buy. They are pretty and not so uncommon that we would have to worry about them disappearing due to theft. Maybe one day after I fence in the property, I can buy the Mandarin ones. I really would like to have a pair of those.

New decorations

I just bought some decorations for the outside of the house. They are these really neat things called rain chains. I can’t wait to see them in action. You attach them to the soffet of the house and when it rains the water runs down them either off the drain catch or into a bowl or bucket. It depends on the look you want for your house. The chains rain at my house in the back, runs down into a series of bowls like a water fall. It is going to be so pretty.

The rain chain in the front will run off down where the gutter drain used to be on both sides. It looks really neat just the way it is right now and I can imagine how it will look when it rains. I may have to sit on my front porch and just watch the rain for a while. Well, I know I will do that anyway. I love to watch the rain so long as it is not a bad storm or anything like that.

New park

I am so happy they re did the park down the street. It was looking raggedy and needed a makeover. We got new park benches that look amazing, and believe it or not they are actually comfortable. I took the kids there after school today for a little while to unwind. They really enjoyed it and want to come back over the weekend for a picnic or BBQ. I think that just might be possible if the weather holds nice.

They put in brand new commercial picnic tables for us to have our picnic on as well as new grills to cook on. I am so happy about that. We can have birthday celebrations there again. Before we couldn’t because the equipment was just plain falling apart. I think it is supposed to be a bit windy but not too much. That means I can buy some kites for the kids to fly. I know they will absolutely love that. We haven’t done that in so long, I can’t even remember when the last time was.

So happy

I am so happy. I just ordered some new things for the house. I am putting in window boxes on the front of the house. They are going to look so pretty and make the house look much better out front. Just because I have kids and yes they leave their toys and stuff outside all the time, doesn’t mean that the house has to look run down. I have seen how nice the flower boxes look on other houses and cannot wait to put some up here.

A window box is easy to keep up and the dogs cannot get into it and tear the flowers up. That is a major plus. My dogs are constantly digging in the flowers and such. I have to keep fencing up around the garden to keep them out or they will dig up all of my vegetables. I am so stoked. I cannot wait until they arrive. I just love shopping online.

Not this year

I am determined not to lose power this year when the storms come through. Last year was horrible. It seemed like every week we were without power for anywhere from a couple hours to a couple days. I am not going through that again. If we lose power I will have generatorsAtoZ to thank for us not losing power ourselves. I am buying a generator and having it set up to direct connect to my breaker box. GeneratorsAtoZ have a lot of models to choose from and my dad has told me which ones are good for my needs.

Having kids and losing power from a storm is not a good thing. Kids need to have something to keep their minds off of the deadly storms and the aftermath, at least for a little while each day. With generatorsAtoZ, I don’t have to worry about dealing with storm damage and bored or upset kids. They can be easily distracted so long as we have electricity.

My house

I am still fixing up the outside of my house. I want it to look really nice, because I think it has been the shabbiest house on the block. Not that it is from me, because I just bought it and have been continuously renovating since I got it. I had to start on the inside and have gotten a lot done that I wanted. Anyway, I ordered custom address plaques for the front of the house and the side drive. It was really hard to choose exactly what I wanted, so I ended up buying two different ones.

The first is a bronze address plaques for the front of the house next to the door. I has the house number and street on it. The second one is for the end of the side driveway. I live on a corner lot, so the house sits on two streets. It is easier to get here from the other street, so I put custom address plaques there for people to find easier. I am very happy with it and it makes the house and yard look so much better.

The park

I just found out that the local park was completely renovated with all new equipment. The county put in new park benches and picnic tables for our residents to use. They also put in new play ground equipment as well. I am happy to see that they are finally spending our tax money on things we can see and touch. I know that my county does a pretty good job managing things but it is always nice to be able to see the progress they make as well. I researched the documents they published regarding the issue and found that they were very thorough and even let us know what company they used to purchase all of the stuff.

I liked the company so well I decided to order some Adirondack chairs from them, for my back yard. They are really nice looking and I cannot wait till they are delivered. I am going to enjoy relaxing in the garden where I am putting them, especially first thing in the morning with my coffee.

Maybe a tiki hut

Maybe I should put up a Tiki Hut for outdoor entertainment and us to use by the pool. It doesn’t have to be really big, but I like the thatch look. It is exotic like a tropical island and reminds me of trips I have taken to the Keys in Florida. I remember one trip to a place called Holiday Isle. We had a blast. There were bands on the weekend, one playing reggae and another playing Jimmy Buffett style music. It was an amazing vacation. We had dinner at a restaurant that was the largest seafood buffet I have ever seen. Almost everywhere we went had those little tiki huts, even indoors.

The bamboo matting was really neat and actually kept you dry if it rained. I inquired then about those little huts, because I had it in mind to build one in my back yard at the time. I think it is time to get around to that. I can make a little tropical oasis in the back yard with plants that will thrive even in the winter and some that I can put in pots to be moved indoors later.

Windows

My mom built a conservatory onto the house and wants to get all double glazing cost for the windows. The double glazing helps keep the heat in during the cold months of the year, so that the plants and flowers do not die. My mom has the greenest thumb and loves to grow flowers and plants. I love it when she brings me clippings from her garden for my yard. We have placed so many of her plants in our back yard garden that it looks like a carefully cultivated jungle in the summer. Of course the children like this as it gives them plenty of places to hide when they are playing.

We have grown the various flora and fauna so that there are quiet arbors of solitude for anyone who wishes to enjoy nature with peace and tranquility. I intend to put in a small pond that crosses the garden via a little stream that ends in another pond this year. I have to figure out how to heat it so I can add some Koi to it as well. I might just put up a green house and have it connect to there as well so that I can move the Koi during the winter months so they do not freeze. I would of course double glaze those windows to keep the heat in.

So comfy

I have fallen in love with sheep skin. My mom bought me sheepskin rugs for the living room of my house. I put it directly in front of the fire place. I had been looking forever for some kind of comfy rug to go there for those romantic winter nights when my honey and I like to light a fire and relax in front of it with a glass of wine.

I loved them so much that I decided to buy some sheepskin products for our vehicles. The sheepskin seat covers look awesome and feel delicious when you slid into the car and sit on them. I really like that when it is cold out, because the leather seats are really cold when you first get into the car. This way, I don’t totally freeze before the car heater warms up. The kids really like it as well because they were constantly complaining about cold seats. Now we never have to worry about that again. If you have never tried them, you don’t know what you are missing.
