I think the world has gone a little crazy. I quite watching the news, because there is nothing but bad news on it and I seem to be happier without knowing. The schools want the kids to watch the news as part of their classes, but I would rather them not see all of that. I am going to have to talk to their teachers about it. I really don’t think they will mind finding a different project for my kids, but that remains to be seen. I can only try.
I can’t wait for Sunday
I am so happy! Danica Patrick took the pole for the Daytona 500. I have a feeling that she is going to be a force to be reckoned with this year. I am hopeful for my favorite driver Dale Jr as well. The new cars they are driving this year are a little loose it seems. Already there have been wrecks as they get a little loose in the rear end. The draft just doesn’t seem to be the same. We shall see how it goes on Sunday. I cannot wait!
Poor dad
My dad is getting hearing aid reviews , because he is losing his hearing. He has been fighting it for a long time now, but has finally given in over it. We all had to sit him down and tell him that we are tired of yelling just to speak to him. His life would be so much easier, if he gets a hearing aid. Not to mention, mom won’t have to worry about headaches from the TV being up too loud.
Loving the Vampire Diaries
I have become totally immersed in the Vampire Diaries show. I have been watching the seasons on Netflix and they are really good. I know that some of them are teens, but the rest are adults or two and three hundred year old vampires that feud with each other constantly. It can be a little monotonous sometimes, but the rest is very good. Time to get back to my Netflix. Later gators.
Center of the Earth
The kids are watching the Center of the Earth movie with Brendan Frasier. They are so funny. The fish in the movie scared them. My little guy started yelling and jumped about three feet into the air. I wish I had the camcorder out for that one. It would have made a great moment to save. I think I am going to have to keep it out more often.
New TV for the kids
Well the old TV the kids had fell and the port for the cable ripped out of the back. We are going to buy them a flat screen TV that can be mounted on the wall and cannot fall. The wall mount for it will be attached to the studs inside the walls and be much more secure for them. I am kind of glad that we are switching to the flat screen as the other TV fell on top of one of the boys and he could have been injured.
Bored
This week already sucks. I am bored out of my mind. I suppose I can watch TV, but I am not really a TV person. I do have a couple of books on my Nook that I haven’t read yet, so I may start one of those. Other than that, I haven’t much to do as I got all of my cleaning done yesterday. I guess it will be a day of just waiting for the kids to get home from school. Blah
Country music
Written by my friend Constance Hayden
I used to watch music videos very rarely. I used to watch MTV when I was in high school and enjoyed any kind of video. However, ever since we got satellite TV from www.expertsatellite.com, I watch country music videos pretty frequently. The other day, my son and daughter, who are both toddlers, were dancing to the music video for the song that says “Country girl shake it for me.” I was laughing so hard and luckily I was able to catch it with our video camera. It is so funny to me to watch kids dance because I always think about the fact that they learned their dance moves from someone. My husband was mildly concerned when I showed him the video of our kids dancing because he thinks that they should not be listening to that kind of music. I told him that country music is pretty clean and that I would much rather they dance to country music than rap music, or even rock music. Either way, they looked pretty cute dancing in front of the TV.
Weather
I have discussed the weather before I am sure, but this is just annoying. Supposedly, it is going to snow this weekend, but they cannot say how much snow versus rain we will get. This winter has been so confusing that the weather people don’t know whether they are coming or going. I know that it must be driving them nuts, at least for our area. I cannot wait for spring, but I am not looking forward to the tornadoes and flooding…zzzz
Are the Muppets still relevant?
Guest written by our friend Sergio Chaney
Last night I was watching the CMA awards on www.expertsatellite.com and I saw a commercial for a new Muppets movie. Not too long after that the hosts of the show did a sketch with Miss Piggie. It got me thinking. When was the last time I saw the Muppets on something? I think it has been at least 10 years or more since I last saw anything new come out featuring the Muppets. I don’t have children so I am not up on these things but I would think I would notice a commercial or a print ad or something. Do kids even like puppets anymore? I would think that with the new age of technology and Pixar they wouldn’t be interested in watching puppets on a stage. I guess you still have Sesame Street whose characters are basically huge puppets. I always loved Big Bird and Snufalupagus as a child but you never know with kids these days. They probably watch CSI and try to figure out who committed the crime. Or maybe they are watching some computer generated cartoon that has deeply involved plots with twists and turns that you wouldn’t expect. Gosh I am glad I don’t have kids yet. I am not ready for their advanced little minds.
