New tile

Well I just bought new tile for the bathroom from edenmosaictile.com. I hope it gets here before next weekend, because I am going to pull out the wall tile in there after work this week. I want to have it completely done by the end of the weekend so I don’t have to worry about it anymore. I made sure that it is exactly what I wanted and the right colors as well. I will be happy when I finish this bathroom up.

I really like doing the work myself on the house, because I can feel a certain amount of pride in it. Not many women will do the DYI stuff themselves. They typically let their boyfriends and husbands do it. Well, not me. Unless it is something I cannot possibly do or requires permits from a licensed contractor, I do it all myself. My father taught me to be self reliant and so I am. Have a great day everyone.

Neighbors mailbox

Well some kids messed up my neighbors mailbox two days ago and they came to me to find out where I got my mailbox and posts. I had to replace mine twice because of kids until I had custom mailboxes made for my house. Now they don’t mess with it anymore. I was very happy to help my neighbor as we are a close knit community here. I was even able to help them find out who did it since I have a security system that has video as well.

I know that they will be happy with the custom whitehall mailboxes they ordered today. I hope the police catch the kids destroying the mailboxes, but I doubt they will. They don’t seem to care about mailboxes very much when they have so many other things to worry about. Not that I blame them, they are very busy protecting the community.

Neighbor

One of my neighbors from around the corner stopped by. She wanted to compliment me on the changes to the house and ask where I bought the personalized address plaques I have on the front of the house and in the yard. Everyone really loves them and raves about how nice they look and how good they make the house and yard look as well. Custom address plaques are not hard to get. I found them by simply looking them up online. I don’t mind giving them the web address though. It makes me feel really good about my house when people stop by and admire it.

The bronze address plaques I put up were easy to install and didn’t take very long to arrive. I had them within a week of ordering them. Well it is time to get moving. I have to start dinner soon as the kids will be home from day camp in just a little while. They are always starving when they get home.

My projects

Well as you all know I always have some kind of project going on, and lately I have had a heck of a time getting some of the supplies I want or need. I have been searching for dowel pins for a couple of weeks now and finally found some that will suit my needs. I cannot believe how difficult they were to find. No matter though, I was able to order them online and now I can finish my project.

Ducks for our pond

We have a nice big pond on our property. The kids want to put ducks in it, so I have been looking around to see where to find Ducks for Sale. I have a place where we buy our Chicken Breeds, and I know they sell ducks as well. I found all kinds of neat Duck breeds online. The prettiest ones are the Mandarin Ducks, and they are really expensive. I would love to have a pair of them, but I don’t want to have to worry about anyone stealing them.

When I Buy Ducks, I will definitely be getting a breed that is pretty. The Mallards are most likely what I am going to buy. They are pretty and not so uncommon that we would have to worry about them disappearing due to theft. Maybe one day after I fence in the property, I can buy the Mandarin ones. I really would like to have a pair of those.

Time to get in shape

Okay, so it is definitely past time to get into shape. Between carrying children and type two diabetes, I have put on weight that I cannot seem to drop without more exercise than I am currently getting. I am going to use kettler fitness equipment to help me lose the weight I need gone. It really shouldn’t take very long to achieve and with any luck I can get rid of a lot of it before summer ends. It would be nice to be able to look a little better in my bathing suits.

My man says that the rowing machines would be my best bet. I have bad hips and this way it will not aggravate them. I certainly hope so. I am going to talk to my doctor first, before I actually buy anything. This way he can let me know what he thinks is best as well. wish me luck everyone.

Backing up files

This takes so long, and takes so many discs to do. I have to throw out all the old ones, because there are so many from doing it over the years. I estimate that between the three computers, this will take most of the day to do. I will have to stay near them to make sure I don’t miss the prompts when it is time to put a new disc in. Blah…going to be a boring day.

It’s lovely

Oh it is so lovely. I found the prettiest vessel sink. It is all rainbow colored and kind of clear too. I am going to redo my bathroom in the master bedroom. I need something different. I found it on www.edenbath.com. I am going to use a rainbow colored glass motif throughout the bathroom and make it a cheery place to relax when I want to take a leisurely bath. I love taking baths. I put bubbles or oil in it and just soak away my stress.

I can’t wait to show this off to my mom. She always likes to see what I am doing in fixing up my home. A lot of times we will collaborate on projects as she is redoing the old homestead as well. Our tastes run alike when it comes to the houses and we are always asking what each other thinks about something before we do it. Consequently we have some similarities, but not all.

My patio furniture

I really like my patio furniture, but it has gotten old and is in need of repair. I thought about buying new patio furniture, but then I found an outdoor furniture repair company and decided to just get my old furniture fixed. This will save me a lot of money since my patio furniture is wood not plastic or metal. I found out they can refinish patio furniture and make it look brand new again. I am so happy about that.

I bought this furniture a long time ago and I am very happy with it. I certainly didn’t want to have to get rid of it. My mom helped me pick it out the first summer I spent in this house after I bought it. It was one of those special moments that we women always remember. I am glad that I can preserve it. I will have to tell my mom about it so that she can do hers too. We bought similar sets when I bought mine and I know that hers needs to be fixed as well as mine. Once I have all of this done, I am going to have a little get together to show it off.

I think a Bar-b-Que will be the perfect entertainment. Maybe we can have it on a Sunday and watch the Nascar race on the back patio. I can move the flat screen TV out there near the bar. I have been thinking about getting a TV just for the back porch, but I haven’t entertained as much as I used to so haven’t been able to justify the cost. I will have to make a decision about that later. In the mean time I am just going to continue fixing up my house until I have the show place that I can be proud of.

There are only a few things left to do to the outside of it and I am hoping to have it finished in the next month or so. We shall see. Well I have to go take the kids to the park and let them run off some energy, so I will write more later. I hope everyone has a great day!

Cousins

I have cousins in Toronto Canada who just adopted a family of children. There are four of them, two girls and two boys. My cousins wanted to adopt a child and didn’t have the heart to separate them, so they took them all. This also means that they have to build an addition to their house to make room for everyone. Toronto home additions are not that expensive or difficult to achieve. Originally they were going to do basement renovations toronto, but decided to keep the basement as a family play room instead. They need only add some more furniture and toys for the kids.

They are going to have to find toronto bathroom contractors as well since they are going to add another bathroom to the house as well. I am so happy for them that they are doing this. They are helping children who have no one else to help them. I am proud of them and glad that they finally have the family they have always wanted. I can’t wait for the holidays to come around so we can all meet the children. It will be a very special Christmas this year.
