Lift kit

So I bought my honey a lift kit for his 4WD for Christmas. He was so surprised by it. I knew which one he wanted and ordered it online. Hiding it was difficult to say the least. I had to get it up into the attic after I wrapped it, so he wouldn’t try to shake it to see what it was. When I took it down from there to put it under the tree, I buried it under the kids presents that we already had. He never even knew it was there.

You should have seen the look on his face when he opened it. That look was priceless. He didn’t think we had the money for it yet, but I had been putting away money for Christmas all year and didn’t let him know how much I had. It was a little trick but so worth the effort. Now his Jeep will look amazing with the lift on it. We are going to have to put some steps on it just to get into it now. Fortunately, they are not too expensive and we can get them buy the end of January. He will install everything at the same time.

I am so happy that I did this for him. It is hands down one of the best presents that I have ever bought him. He does a lot for us though, so he really deserved it. He asked me if I wanted one on my new Jeep, but I said no. I have to do the grocery shopping for the house and it would be too much to try and get the groceries in and out of it. Not to mention the kids have to be able to get in and out of it every day. Just too much trouble for an everyday vehicle.

Cleaning done

I have spent most of the day cleaning up after the holiday celebration. I even took down the Christmas tree a bit early. I just wanted it all done and out of the way this year. Usually I leave it up until after the new year, but not this time. I had the kids all help me and we got it done lickity split. It certainly made it much easier and I was able to pack everything away much more carefully then normal. Last year the kids were already back in school and when I took it down, I just tossed it in the boxes and had done with it. I promised myself that I would not do that this year and managed to keep my promise to myself. Woo Hoo! That makes me a very happy person. Hope everyone has a great day!

Holiday weather

Gosh there is some crazy holiday weather out there. I can see on the weather channel there is blizzards up north and tornadoes down south. We have been getting between rain and snow off and on today with no accumulation of course. The kids are not happy about that either. They want to play in the snow and that will not be possible. I am kind of hoping that we will have one good snow this year. God knows we haven’t had any for the last winter season. We barely got an inch last year. I am glad we aren’t getting that blizzard though.

His Jeep

My mans Jeep CJ7 is the bomb. Now that we both have Jeeps, we will have more room for camping equipment on our trips. Plus, we can now get another trailer for the four wheelers and take all of those with us as well. Most of the time we have had to have a friend carry two of them for us if they were going and had room. To be honest, we have only been able to take all of them one time. This will definitely be a bonus.

He said something about putting a rack on the top too. That way when we take our long trips to the mountains, we can take the kayaks as well. He wants to take everything with us. It makes me laugh and just shake my head. Oh well, we have the room now. I have a feeling our big trip next year will be a doozy and last much longer than usual.

There are still a few things he wants to do to his cj7 before spring hits, but I am confidant that it will all get done. Winter seems to be the season we up grade or buy our toys for summer fun. I have been thinking about getting him a snow mobile, but we don’t get enough snow here to actually use it very often. Last year we only got about two inches of snow. I know that he has always wanted one, perhaps we can get one and trailer it behind the cj7 up to a friends when they get snow. It is only about three hours away from us and they get a lot of snow. I know that it doesn’t make much sense for us to get so little snow and them a whole bunch. We aren’t that far away from each other after all.

Letters to Santa

Santa’s Village at the North Pole

Well the annual letters to Santa have been sent via the Northpole.com website. The kids love this site, because the letters are actually answered. There are also games and activities for them to do on the site as well. We have a lot of fun every year sending our letters to Santa.

So happy

My honey just bought me a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now we have to Jeeps and I am so happy. It is an early Christmas present from him and the kids. I don’t know how they were able to keep it a secret, because they went with him the other day to buy it. It was delivered today, just a little while ago with a great big bow on the top. The kids had just got home from school and he had just come home from work when it arrived. I was in shock. I never thought in a million years that he would get me such an expensive present.

It is a used Jeep, but it is new to me and I absolutely love it. Now we sort of have matching vehicles. His is a different model though. I can’t wait to go show it off to my friends and my mom. She is going to flip. He must have been saving for this for a long while and I had absolutely no clue. He has worked a lot of over time this past year though, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise to me.

I cannot wait until tomorrow. I have a lot of errands to run and I will be able to drive my new Jeep. I have to go to the DMV and make it legal first thing in the morning, then I will be all set to go. I hope that they are not very busy. I have to be home by lunch time. The kids have a half a day tomorrow and will be home much earlier then normal. After that, it will be a mad house for two weeks. By the end of the Winter break, I will probably be stark raving mad. Hehehe.

Baking a cake for the kids

I decided to bake a cake for the kids. They love Red Velvet cake and a few weeks ago I bought the stuff to make it, but hadn’t done it yet. So tomorrow when I go to do the Christmas shopping, I am going to buy a couple more cake pans to get that done. Today they are eating the Ginger Bread house we made on Sunday. They are so funny about it, picking apart the house meticulously the way they put it together. Here’s a picture of a similar one to theirs.

Cleaning today

I have been scouring the house today. I just finished with the bathrooms, which were in desperate need of a good cleaning. I have been so busy, that I have let a few things slide and have to make up for it today. That is no biggie though, I just want it done before Christmas vacation hits and the kids are home all day every day. Keeping up with it after that is going to be challenging enough, what with the holidays and such. Tomorrow I am going to get a bunch of the Christmas shopping done when my check comes in. After that, I will have to wait until next week to get the last minute stuff. At least I was able to pick up all of the stocking stuffers today. I really don’t think I need anything else for those. Honestly, I cannot wait for the Holiday’s to be over. I am impatiently waiting for the new year to begin. I hope that it will be better then this one has, because this one was not very good for anyone that I know.

This look amazing!

The kids are going to love these! They will love helping to make them even more. I am going to send some to their classes for their Holiday parties. I know that they will be a really big hit with the kids. Baking with my kids is a lot of fun. They really enjoy creating little treats like this to take to class with them.

Joy joy

Well the weather has turned a bit nasty outside. Not only has it been very cold, but now it is raining. Unfortunately it is not cold enough to snow. We just get this cold wet rain that makes everyone miserable. I hope that it doesn’t go down to freezing tonight, or we will have nothing but ice in the morning. That would not be good. Snow is good, ice is bad.

The kids are hoping that it will snow, but the weather man says that the rain is going to pass us by and there will be no snow. Poor babes want to build a snowman. I want to have a nice snowball fight with them. Hopefully, we can have a white Christmas and everyone will be happy.
