New spice rack

I am so happy. I bought a new spice rack for my kitchen. My old one just seemed to fall apart. I seem to be a bit hard on my spice racks for some reason, but to be honest, I do a lot of cooking. I have a large family and we get together a lot on the weekends. I am constantly cooking food for one family get together or another. Add my friends get together’s and I am always in the kitchen.

You would think that kitchen spice racks would hold up better then they have, but maybe this new one from a different company will. I certainly hope so. Then again, I have kids and they like to cook for themselves sometimes too. That is actually how the last one broke. My new one is made of stainless steel, so I am confident that it will last a long while. I have instructed the children to be more careful of course, but then I do that all the time and it usually doesn’t help much. They are a rowdy bunch.

Always something

There is always something when it comes to kids. I have one who has been consistently sick for the last few weeks. I had to take him to the hospital last night because he was coughing so badly he could barely breath. Of course, the ER doctor was about a moron and didn’t do much for him. The nurse however went and got him something to help alleviate his cough and help him sleep. Gotta love nurses.

So pretty

Oh I found something so cool. I was surfing the web and found a site about designer fireplaces. It was so amazing to see all of the different concepts the designers come up with for a fireplace. Of course the company isn’t near my house, but my cousin lives out that way, so I sent the link to her so she could check them out. Wouldn’t you know it, but she needed to find fireplace inserts San Francisco for her house. She had been looking for fireplace inserts bay area for a couple of years and hadn’t found one she liked at all.

She was using the wrong search for what she wanted. She was searching fireplace mantles instead of inserts. Although, by all rights that should have found her this page too. She did tell me that she was really happy to find wood stoves for sale on the site as well. Now she can get everything she wanted for her house.

Crowded with Easter Shoppers

I have a bad feeling that when I get to the grocery store this afternoon it will be extra crowded because of Easter. I know that a lot of people like to have a big dinner on Easter Sunday, and so do I.

Most of the time I do the cooking and go all out with the big meal. We get a half ham – I make sure to get the butt end and not the shank – and then we have all kinds of side dishes and desserts. But this year my sister in law says that she wants to cook and the deal is that if I go do the shopping, that she will do the cooking.

That sounds great to me1 I’d love to have a day off from cooking and cleaning and just enjoy myself for a change. I’m really looking forward to Easter – now I just have to deal with the crowds at the grocery store and buy all the food for tomorrow’s dinner.

Sick of Doing Laundry

Around here I try to get the laundry done just about every day. I don’t like it to build up and become a nagging problem, but I also try to make sure I run a full load so I’m not wasting water and electricity.

Most days I can do one load of colors. I have to let the white things add up for 4 or 5 days before I have enough to make a full load. Usually whatever day I do the whites I will also get all the bath towels and sheets rounded up and just do a couple of extra loads of laundry that day.

Today I am looking at four piles of dirty clothes, towels and sheets and I can’t help thinking that it would so much nicer to spend the day outside getting my garden started. But I need to make sure all the clothes get clean instead.

Good idea

I really love this idea. I sent the picture to my mom and she really likes it a lot too. I think I am going to do this in my living room and I know that it is going to look awesome. Mom is going to help me with pictures, as I want really good ones. This is a great way to show off my family.

Big order

Well, I had to order more supplies for my cousins hotel. I am the one who does his books and such. It is a part time thing to help him out since his wife died and he is now a single dad. They have a hotel franchise and I spend at least two days a week in the office there. This week was order week. The Hotel Bathroom Supplies & Restaurant Supply Company that we order from is great though and I never have a problem with our orders. You would not believe the amount of stuff that I had to get though.

I needed Hotel Product Supplies & Catering Supplies for both the hotel and the restaurant that is attached to it. Technically we don’t own the restaurant, but I do the ordering for it as well. PeachSuite Wholesale Hotel Supply & Restaurant Equipment Company are really good to me. I never have a problem with their products or the ordering process. I have even made a few friends there as well over the time I have been helping my cousin.

What a storm

Wow, last nights storm as raging. It knocked over trees all over the neighborhood. We are really lucky one didn’t fall on our house. Our mailbox got crushed though. I guess I will have to order a new one. The kids were a little frightened last night, but the storm passed by quickly and they were able to fall asleep fast. What kind of mailbox should I get this time? Residential mailboxes can actually be fun if you like to shop.

I haven’t decided whether I should get designer mailboxes or one of the victorian mailboxes. I am thinking about ordering two of them, just in case. We get some really bad storms during the springtime that consist of high level straight line winds and tornadoes. I usually have to replace the mailbox once a year because of them. It might be prudent to just order an extra one, so I don’t have to worry about it later. This storm season started very early and is going to be a long one I think.

Woke up with a headache

I can see that my day is going to be a bad one already. I woke up with a headache, then stepped in dog pee on the way to the bathroom. That is a sure sign that my day is going to really suck. I don’t know why the dog was in the house to being with, but someone is going to get their rear chewed out for that. These kids know better then to let the dog stay in the house.

Upset

I am really upset. Mom was supposed to come pick up the kids on Sunday and take them to spend spring break with her and dad. Then she said Monday and then Tuesday and guess what? She just called and said tomorrow. WTF ? I was looking forward to some time with my honey for just us and the kids were looking forward to spending time with her. Now the kids are disappointed and I am pissed off. I didn’t take anything out for dinner because they weren’t going to be here and now I don’t know what the heck to feed my family. I am so not happy right now.
