So happy

My honey just bought me a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now we have to Jeeps and I am so happy. It is an early Christmas present from him and the kids. I don’t know how they were able to keep it a secret, because they went with him the other day to buy it. It was delivered today, just a little while ago with a great big bow on the top. The kids had just got home from school and he had just come home from work when it arrived. I was in shock. I never thought in a million years that he would get me such an expensive present.

It is a used Jeep, but it is new to me and I absolutely love it. Now we sort of have matching vehicles. His is a different model though. I can’t wait to go show it off to my friends and my mom. She is going to flip. He must have been saving for this for a long while and I had absolutely no clue. He has worked a lot of over time this past year though, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise to me.

I cannot wait until tomorrow. I have a lot of errands to run and I will be able to drive my new Jeep. I have to go to the DMV and make it legal first thing in the morning, then I will be all set to go. I hope that they are not very busy. I have to be home by lunch time. The kids have a half a day tomorrow and will be home much earlier then normal. After that, it will be a mad house for two weeks. By the end of the Winter break, I will probably be stark raving mad. Hehehe.

This is pretty

I think I will make this my desktop picture for a while. It is amazingly beautiful. I have seen a few roses in real life that look like this. The florist was able to use food coloring in the water to get them to turn such pretty colors. I might have to try it on my roses and see how it goes for me.

Personalized napkins

I had to re order the personalized napkins, because there was something wrong with the printing. I am not sure what happened, or if we got the wrong ones. It is no big deal, because we made a change to the order when we re ordered it. Now we just have to wait for the new ones to come in. I am sure that it was a simple mistake, but it is fixed now. I will put them in the storage with every thing else when they arrive. I wonder if I should check on the wedding favor bags as well, just to be sure? Nah, I think it will be fine.

Baking a cake for the kids

I decided to bake a cake for the kids. They love Red Velvet cake and a few weeks ago I bought the stuff to make it, but hadn’t done it yet. So tomorrow when I go to do the Christmas shopping, I am going to buy a couple more cake pans to get that done. Today they are eating the Ginger Bread house we made on Sunday. They are so funny about it, picking apart the house meticulously the way they put it together. Here’s a picture of a similar one to theirs.

Wedding centerpieces

Well the Wedding centerpieces have finally arrived. There is so much stuff that we decided to rent a small storage unit for all of it. The storage place is right around the corner from my house and I can take the stuff there whenever I have to run out. That is part of the reason we decided to do all of the planning from my house. That and my house is bigger than her apartment. The only concern she had was the kids getting into some of it, but I assured her that wouldn’t happen, plus we have to storage unit. That made her feel much better about it. I love her dearly, and I am so happy to be able to help her plan her wedding.

Cleaning today

I have been scouring the house today. I just finished with the bathrooms, which were in desperate need of a good cleaning. I have been so busy, that I have let a few things slide and have to make up for it today. That is no biggie though, I just want it done before Christmas vacation hits and the kids are home all day every day. Keeping up with it after that is going to be challenging enough, what with the holidays and such. Tomorrow I am going to get a bunch of the Christmas shopping done when my check comes in. After that, I will have to wait until next week to get the last minute stuff. At least I was able to pick up all of the stocking stuffers today. I really don’t think I need anything else for those. Honestly, I cannot wait for the Holiday’s to be over. I am impatiently waiting for the new year to begin. I hope that it will be better then this one has, because this one was not very good for anyone that I know.

Wedding favors

I think that we have finally narrowed down some of the Wedding favors. It has been a long road already with the planning. We had a few set backs, but are trying to catch up again. Since I am not doing much else today, I will work on re organizing the planning folders. That will not take very long though. I think I should spend some time doing something special with the kids. I am not sure what to do as it is raining off and on. It is very warm out side, but the rain is going to keep us indoors. That really is too bad.

Sunday

Well today doesn’t seem to be like our traditional Sunday. Usually, we have a big Sunday breakfast to start our day off, but no one wanted a big breakfast today. The kids just wanted pop tarts and cereal, but should not have surprised me. We just bought new cereal an pop tarts yesterday. They always have to try the new stuff as soon as they possibly can.

I think it is going to a lazy Sunday. I don’t really feel like doing much. I was going to do laundry, but I am not sure I really need to yet. I just don’t like for it to build up though. Oh well. I’m off now. Later Gators!

Dad’s toy

My father has gotten too old to ride four wheeler’s anymore, so he bought himself something that he can still play in. He bought a Yamaha Rhino for him an mom. Now he is looking for yamaha rhino accessories to customize his new toy. The weather is supposed to clear up and warm up as well. As soon as it does, we will take out the four wheeler’s and his Rhino to go riding through the preserve. It is part of a state park that allows you to ride on trails that are specifically made for them. We have gone there many times before.

Occasionally we like to camp there too, but it really is not that far from the house. I think we are going to plan a trip as soon as spring hits, to the Smokey Mountains. That way we can camp out in the mountains and ride all over them. There are a great many places to ride. Including the Shenandoah trail. Dad wants to go right away and just rent a cabin. He says we can ride all day, then relax in front of a fire. I am not too sure about that, but I will think about it. If we do, I think I might wait until it snows. That would be really fun.

Sad day

I don’t usually write about stuff that is on the news, but today I have to. Today so many children died in a shooting at an elementary school, as well as several adults who were trying desperately to save those children. My heart goes out to the parents and families who have been devastated by this tragedy. I cannot imagine what it is like to have to bury your child and I hope that I never find out. I know that it has to be the hardest thing anyone ever has to do. For these families, this holiday season should have been exciting and fun, but now will never be the same again. Those children were still babies, just little kinder gardeners. When my little guys got home, all I could do was hold them and cry. I cried for the children and for the mothers who’s arms are now empty. I can only pray that God holds them in his loving embrace and comforts them while they grieve over this tragic loss.
