Must We Wake Up Already?

Last night was so much fun. I had a blast in the restaurant where a bunch of Facebook friends decided to meet up. We all got together at Puckett’s Grocery downtown. It’s not really a grocery – it s a bar, restaurant and place to hear live music every night of the week from local talent. The food is great and reasonably priced, and it’s a casual, friendly place. I had a blast!

This morning I am paying for it, though. I am SOOOO tired! I think I am allergic to mornings anyway, but this morning it is especially hard to wake up and get started on my day. Ugh. But I have a long list of errands and chores, so I had better get off the computer and get busy. Later, taters!

Be Careful What You Share

dont put it on FB

Sometimes it seems like Facebook has been around forever. I use it every day and I love to keep up with family and friends. Facebook makes me feel closer to the ones I love and I have met some new friends, too.

Smart people will use Facebook like the tool it was meant to be and should be careful about what they share. You never know who is reading what your share and what they will do with that information.

On His Way Home – For Real This Time

The Army told my cousin in Afghanistan to pack his gear and report to the air field in 4 hours. Of course, he was already mostly packed – he thought he was leaving for home several days ago. Then they told him he can’t leave that quickly. Then they told him the day AFTER he was supposed to leave that he can leave. The Army works in mysterious ways.

So, he and 8 other men were put on an airplane and delivered to a staging area away from the war zone. This place has real restaurants with real food and ice cold beers. He and a couple of his friends spent the first night there eating and drinking beer for the first time in many months. He posted a photo on Facebook so we knew he was really out of there.

outta there

I’m so glad that they made it out of there safely and can’t wait for them to be back on American soil.

Beware the Ides

Never took Latin in school but I’m pretty sure that the Ides of March is March 15, that’s today. I know the Ides of March was a bummer for Caesar – his friends turned on him and killed him. I have been betrayed by people who I thought were friends, too. I think of that horrible moment that Caesar actually realized that all his friends had betrayed his trust.

So how do you like my new theme?

I was getting tired of my old WordPress theme and decided to shop around for a new, more lively theme.  I love this one.  It fits me better than the old one.  The old one sort of looked so lonely to me and I am anything but lonely.  In fact, my life is full of wonderful friends and a wonderful community so here’s to my new theme!!  What do you think?  I personally love it!!
