Hey Cammy

One of my friends from work was talking about her blog while we were in the kitchen taking our lunch break. I didn’t know Cameron even had a blog! I have told all my friends at work about my blog – but I bet no one even cares. My work friends are good people to work with, but once 5:00 roles around they are gone.

Photos on the Internet

A friend of mine was talking about her photographer friend up in Illinois. He has been doing part time photo shoots for years and she says some of his work is really good. I asked where to find samples of his work and she says that he just puts a few up on Facebook. I think he should make a photoblog and put a new photo up at least once a week. He’ll get a good fan base and referrals that way.

Old Sayings

My grandmother used to have some favorite sayings about things and I never hear those phrases any more. I wonder why people stop using the cute catch phrases? She used to say, “That’s for the birds.” She also used to ask if “Anyone need to tinkle?” before we left the house to run errands or visit friends. I miss some of her little sayings.

TV for Sale – Cheap

My girlfriend has a big screen TV that she needs to sell. It is an old one – it needs the digital converter. But it is a big, huge screen on a black cabinet. The picture is still really good. She needs the money, so if you want it, let me know and I will put you in touch with her.

Useless Cops

So this girl and her boyfriend stole a bunch of DVDs and CDs from my house. I know it was them and I know they took them to the pawn shop. I called all the pawn shops in this area and found the one who has my stuff. So I drove over there to get them and the pawn shop owner says that it’s too bad, unless the police tell him to give them to me, I can’t have them and they are out on the shelves of the pawn shop selling for $5 a piece. Now, most of them cost me anywhere between $16 and $29 when I bought them. If the pawn shop is selling them for $5, that means he gave this girl about $2 a piece for them.

So I go to the police station and tell them what happened and they say, too bad. Nothing they can do. WTF?

Hot Dogs!

There are so many different brands of hot dogs at the grocery store. It is very tempting to try all the different brands and see what the difference might be. But most of the time I buy the Ball Park brand. I know they are going to taste good, they are big and they plump up even bigger when they cook. I’m sticking to the good ones that I know already.

A Little Burning Sensation

I know there is a commercial about a little burning sensation and that’s not what I’m talking about! This morning when I woke up, as I sat up I noticed an odd feeling in the corner of my eye. My first instinct was to rub it, and when I went into the bathroom to look in the mirror, I was shocked to see that half my eye was bright red. Evidently a bunch of the little blood vessels in the corner of my eye burst. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s ugly. Guess I will have to wait a bit and see if it gets any worse.

Two Mondays

Yesterday was the Monday, but since we did not have to work on the Memorial Day holiday, today is the first day of the work week. But I did have to work, because we have a big problem that I had to deal with.

So today feels like a Monday, even though it is a Tuesday. This week I feel like I’ve had to deal with two Mondays. That should be illegal. No one should have to live through two Mondays in the same week.

Brushing Up On My Spanish

Last night I hit a button on my remote control accidentally. It was not a bad thing – I discovered that I can watch movies with subtitles shown at the bottom of the screen. That is so cool! Now I can watch all my movies and display the entire dialogue on the screen in Spanish. This way I can brush up on my Spanish skills for free!

Reduce Trash

Our neighborhood has two different companies service our area for trash collection. They are private companies that send out monthly bills. If you don’t pay these people, you have to carry your trash to the landfill, which is about 20 minutes from my house. The amount I would spend in gas alone is more than what I have to pay the trash company.

I decided to try to reduce the amount of trash that I put at the curb. If you have any tips on reducing and reusing household items, I’d love to read them as comments here. Thanks!
