Cousin in England has some really cute clothes

My cousin that lives in England came for a visit and I swear she has some of the cutest clothes I have seen in a long time.  You know how us girls are about clothes.  We had a blast going through each others clothes and sharing them just like we used to do when we were teenagers.  Luckily we are still the same size just like always so I got the pleasure of wearing some of her clothes.  I had to ask where they came from so she got on my computer and brought up Plus Size Clothing where she shops for most of her clothes.

No neither of us are what you would call ‘large ladies’ but we are built a bit large with broad shoulders so plus size clothes fit our shoulders and body type better than other sizes.  The ‘Homespun’ collection is my favorite.  It’s sort of like back in the 70’s type styles and I love those style of clothes.  They’re comfortable and have a ‘free’ look to them if that makes any sense to you.  The ‘Bohemian’ collection is perfect for an evening out or for work too.  My cousin and I have the same taste in clothes so she let me purchase some of her clothes and she’ll buy them again for herself when she gets back home.  I really need to learn how to convert their money into ours so I can buy from their site too.

Some of you might have seen this before

With spring busting out everywhere, it brings to my mind this video that I had gotten.  Life is so precious and so beautiful as is nature but the things we take as the 7 wonders of the world are all man made in some form or another.  Watch this and you’ll see the 7 wonders a bit differently.  I sure did!!!!

BLOND FLYING TO HOUSTON

THE PLANE IS ON ITS WAY TO HOUSTON WHEN A BLOND IN ECONOMY CLASS GETS UP AND MOVES TO THE FIRST CLASS SECTION AND SITS DOWN.  THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT WATCHES HER DO THIS AND ASKS TO SEE HER TICKET.  SHE THEN TELLS THE BLOND THAT SHE PAID FOR ECONOMY CLASS AND THAT SHE WILL HAVE TO SIT IN THE BACK.   THE BLOND REPLIES, “I’M BLOND, I’M BEAUTIFUL, I’M GOING TO HOUSTON AND I’M STAYING RIGHT HERE.”

THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT GOES INTO THE COCKPIT AND TELLS THE PILOT AND THE CO-PILOT THAT THERE IS A BLOND SITTING IN FIRST CLASS THAT BELONGS IN ECONOMY AND WON’T MOVE BACK TO HER SEAT.  THE CO-PILOT GOES BACK TO THE BLOND AND TRIES TO EXPLAIN THAT BECAUSE SHE ONLY PAID FOR ECONOMY SHE WILL HAVE TO LEAVE AND RETURN TO HER SEAT. THE BLOND REPLIES, “I’M BLOND, I’M BEAUTIFUL, I’M GOING TO HOUSTON AND I’M STAYING RIGHT HERE.”

THE CO-PILOT TELLS THE PILOT THAT HE PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE THE POLICE WAITING WHEN THEY LAND TO ARREST THIS BLOND WOMAN WHO WON’T LISTEN TO REASON. THE PILOT SAYS, “YOU SAY SHE IS A BLOND? I’LL HANDLE THIS. I’M MARRIED TO A BLOND. I SPEAK BLOND.”  HE GOES BACK TO THE BLOND AND WHISPERS IN HER EAR, AND SHE SAYS, “OH, I’M SORRY.” SHE GETS UP AND GOES BACK TO HER SEAT IN ECONOMY. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT AND CO-PILOT ARE AMAZED AND ASKED HIM WHAT HE SAID TO MAKE HER MOVE WITHOUT ANY FUSS.

I TOLD HER, “FIRST CLASS ISN’T GOING TO HOUSTON.

Dancing with the stars

I keep getting up from my computer to watch ‘Dancing with the stars’.  I have to admit I absolutely love that show.  Shawn just danced and she is an amazing competitor.  She’s cute as a button and boy has that little girl got some muscles which comes from her gymnastics background.  She’s developing into quite a little dancer too.  You know who has really surprised me?  Ty, that’s who.  He’s a cowboy and has really worked hard to turn into a pretty darn good dancer.  Everyone is doing so well at this point that it’s really hard to predict a winner.  Lil Kim is great and Jilles is wonderful.  Chuck and Julianne are just so cute together.  Your guess is as good as mine as to who will come out the winner.

Cutest maternity clothes I have ever seen

The lady at work that is expecting is really starting to show now.  She has gotten some of the cutest maternity clothes I have ever seen.  She said that she has gotten all of her maternity clothes online.  There are even some clothes on their that I wouldn’t mind having and I’m not expecting.  The prices are really good, the clothes are adorable and guess what, if you put in the code “blogfriends” as a coupon at check out, you get an extra 20% off on your purchase.  How cool is that!  Now aren’t you glad you read my blog.  I even told the lady at work about the coupon so she can save some more money.

My friend is so very into this game

I have a friend that is so very into this game called world of warcraft battle chest that it’s his main form of entertainment.  I personally don’t get into games but he sure does.  In fact, he’s always playing battle chest it seems.  To each his own I guess.  But he’s been looking for a wow cdkey and I found where he can get one online a lot cheaper than he’s been able to find.  Now I am his new best friend.

Speaking of security

Since we are talking of security, I had suggested Mom get a dog for protection.  Well I got some pictures of some poodles that were in an ‘Extreme Grooming’ contest.  After seeing these, I’m not so sure they would provide much security other than making the intruder laugh and therefore incapacitating them until the police could get there.  See what I mean?

I would like to think I might do this too

I just read an article on msnbc.msn about a man that won $10,000 in the lottery.  Well what he did with the money is amazing and I would like to think I might do this too but I’m ashamed to admit I probably wouldn’t.  I might do that with part of the winnings but here’s the story and it should be an inspiration to all of us:

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A Kalamazoo-area man who won $10,000 in the Michigan Lottery’s Club Keno game has donated his winnings to a charity.

Soon after winning the money on March 11, Jim Dancy of Richland decided others needed it more than he did. So he gave it all to the Greater Kalamazoo United Way.

“I was heavily influenced by my close friend Julie, who taught me to think of others first, and to stop and think about what life is really about. I know the needs in the community are great right now, so for me it was the right thing to do,” Dancy said in a statement released by the Michigan Lottery.

Dancy is co-founder, vice president and chief operating officer of Innovative Analytics, a biological research company in Kalamazoo. He said he felt good about his decision and was confident that United Way was the correct recipient.

This is COLD!!!

It’s never a good time to get a pink slip or lay off notice but this one takes the cake.  See if you don’t agree with me.

MADISON, Wis. – A nurse was called out of surgery so a manager could tell her she was being laid off. Dean Health said the surgery was minor and the patient wasn’t affected, but the manager who summoned the nurse from surgery violated medical protocol. Dean Health spokesman Paul Pitas said the incident happened at Dean’s West Clinic in Madison on Wednesday or Thursday.

Pitas said there was a period of time in which a nurse wasn’t present during the procedure. He said while there were other clinical staff present, the absence of a nurse is a violation of patient care procedures.

The Madison-based health care provider announced Wednesday that it planned to “immediately” lay off 90 employees. Pitas declined to name the employees involved or what type of surgery the nurse was attending when she was called away.

Like I said, this is about the coldest lay off notice I have ever heard of.  I can’t help but wonder if they put the patient in any jeopardy by calling her out of the surgery.  I sure hope not but if it was me or one of my family members that they were doing the surgery on, I would want to know.

Mom’s getting new blinds too

Boy once I finally talked Mom into doing some redecorating and remodeling, she’s going at it full blast.  She was searching for next day blinds because she hates to wait and found some great sites.  I didn’t realize she knew so much about doing searches online.  She’s really amazing me with not only her computer skills but also her skills in finding next day blinds.

She has started in the living room and sure enough, she did get her next day blinds just as promised by their web site.  I loved the ones she picked for the living room too.  They made such a difference.  I didn’t realize that by simply changing the blinds with the ones she found on next day blinds that it would make that much difference but it sure did.

She’s taking one room at a time and now said it’s time for her to check out the next day blinds site to find just what she wants for the dining room.  I’m sure that she won’t stop there either now that she’s on a roll.
