Well darn, this isn’t available here

Here I was just looking around the Internet trying to find the best deal on Mobile Broadband and came across a great site.  I decided to check out what they had to offer and found out they actually give away a FREE HP Laptop- 15.4″ screen. Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor. 1GB RAM. 120GB hard drive with their 550 Broadband Package.

I was thrilled to find Three Deals until I realized it was a mobile company in England.  Well darn it, here I thought I had found the best mobile broadband company of all and apparently I did but it won’t do me any good.  I emailed my cousin in England and told her to check out their site.  At least one of us can benefit from their great deals.

Another set of geniuses at work

Early this year, some Boeing employees on the airfield decided to steal a life raft from one of the 747s. They were successful in getting it out of the plane and home.

Shortly after they took it for a float on the river, they noticed a Coast Guard helicopter coming toward them. It turned out that the chopper was homing in on the emergency locater beacon that activated when the raft was inflated.

They are no longer employed at Boeing.  Does that surprise you?  Well it doesn’t surprise me one bit.  Sometimes I wonder about people, ya know?  I wonder if the joy ride was worth losing their jobs for?  I bet not.

I found more mailboxes!!

That’s the good thing about the Internet, if you keep looking, you’re bound to find what you need.  Well I happen to be looking for mailboxes right now and found more.  I didn’t realize how many different sites there were or how many different types of mailboxes there were either.  That makes it hard to choose just one.

I was also trying to find address plaques and they had some really nice ones too.  Living in a townhouse, I don’t need any mailbox posts but my mother does since she’s also looking for a new mailbox.  She found a couple of sites I hadn’t found yet too.

I really think I like the Whitehall mailboxes the best of all now that I have checked out so many.  They are available in a lot of different styles and materials too.  I just wish I could make up my mind.  My mothers having the same problem I am too.  I wonder if you can have more than one mailbox???  I don’t think my mailperson would appreciate that, do you?

Some people just don’t think

I don’t know how true this is but it was sent to me as true anyway.

There is a medical student currently doing a rotation in toxicology at the poison control center. Today, this woman called in very upset because she caught her little daughter eating ants. The medical student quickly reassured her that the ants are not harmful and there would be no need to bring her daughter into the hospital.

She calmed down and at the end of the conversation happened to mention that she gave her daughter some ant poison to eat in order to kill the ants. Then the medical student told her that she had better bring her daughter in to the emergency room right away.  What was she thinking????

Do you shop online like me?

I really hate to go shopping in stores anymore than I absolutely have to.  Especially during a holiday, no matter what the holiday is.  The crowds, the crying kids, the whole thing gives me a headache.  Not to mention, I can sit right here in front of my computer and find just about anything I’m looking for.  If I’m looking for something for my home or garden, I go straight to ShopWiki because I know I’ll find it there.

It’s time to start thinking about my flower beds outside so I was looking for flower bulbs online and found exactly what I wanted.  They were even cheaper than at a local garden center or any other store around here.  Trust me, I called around to see where to get the best price too.  I even found bird baths too.

Then my darn coffee maker went kaput so I needed another one.  I wanted a good one but as usual, I didn’t want to have to pay a fortune for it either.  I found just what I was looking for online again.  You can find just about anything from furniture to grills and paint or hardware and tools.  The best part is all of the money you save and you didn’t have to leave the comforts of your home.

This should be posted in every workplace and school

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this! Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair – get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent ‘s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.

I love plants, don’t you?

Plants not only clean the air in your home but they just add something wonderful I think.  But the planters they are in have to be considered too.  Without nice indoor planters, the plants just aren’t as pretty.  They have to fit your room just like furniture does that’s why I always buy decorative planters for my plants.  They add that something that the pot they come in doesn’t, especially when you buy a high end planter.

I even have outdoor planters on my patio too.  They make my patio look so much more dressed than just plain.  I don’t like plain.  You can also get garden planters.  I use those in the summer to grow tomatoes so I can have fresh tomatoes instead of having to buy them.  I get quite a few off of them too.

I also have window boxes on the front windows of my house.  They look great and add so much to the look of your home.  In the fall, I plant pansies in them.  In the summer, it depends on the mood I’m in as to what type of flowers in them.  I try not to use the same flowers every year to give my home a different look each year.

Turn unusable space into usable space

My mother has an attic that she wants turned into a room for her computer and her crafts.  That way she doesn’t have to convert a bedroom just in case we come home to visit.  I told her that I would check online and find her a good company that does things like that.  Well I found one.
