They’re installing new software at work

They just told us Friday that when we come back in Monday, they will have some new software installed that will not only help the office, but will help each of us individually and as a group.  Sometimes we have a project that we work on as a team and if we’re under a tight deadline, then we have to work on it over the weekend to get it completed in time.  Well this new software is going to be a huge help with that.  It’s a remote access software that will allow computers to ‘hook up’ to each other.

One of the best features of this software is the fact that if you’re having computer troubles, they can fix the problem by hooking up to another computer and fix it from that computer.  Anything from configuration issues to what ever else can go wrong and you know how computers can be sometimes.  I really think mine is a blond as goofy as it acts from time to time.  Another great thing about this software is the fact that PROXY Pro 6 Workstation Edition uses authentication and fine-grained permissions to make sure that only authorized technicians can access remote computers. It also has state-of-the-art 256-bit encryption which ensures that all communications are private and secure so you won’t have to worry that just anyone can access your computer.

We had a great time last night

Jayce took me to a really nice restaurant and we had a great meal.  Then we went over to his brothers house (who just happens to be a police officer)  and played cards for a few hours.  It was nice to meet his family.  His brother is a really nice guy.  So is his wife and their two kids.  They have a boy and a girl that are just the cutest and sweetest kids I have been around for a long time.  We left a little early so the kids would go to bed but that was okay.  They were really nice to me and I really enjoyed meeting them.  In fact, we had a great evening and I hope there are many more.

You learn something new every day

Jayce just told me last night that his brother is on the police force.  I really admire anyone that is in the military or on the police force because they put themselves in harms way to protect us.  One thing that blew me away is the fact that the police department doesn’t provide all of the tactical gear that they need.  Jayce was telling me that his brother gets most of his 5.11 Pants and other tactical gear online.  They have just about everything that a police officer would need to protect them and be able to carry the gear they need.  Anything to keep them safe is the way I feel about it especially since they put their lives on the line every day.

That was him!

Jacey just called and said that since it’s raining, maybe we should go see a movie or something.  I was so afraid he was going to back out on me.  I haven’t dated in awhile and I sort of feel like a high school girl who’s excited about a date with the quarterback of the football team.  Silly huh?  Well I think so too but it does sort of feel good at the same time.  He’ll be here about 12:30 and then we’ll decide what movie we are going to see.  Wish me luck that the date goes good.

Mom came over an saw the planters I have

Well as you should know by now, my mother is redoing just about everything inside and out at her house.  She came over last night and was commenting on the planters I have my plants in and decided she needed some new planters for her plants too.  One of the things she’s looking for the I love are window box planters.   I think they look great on a house especially when they have the type of plants that hang out of them.  Of course she’s wanting to get some high end planters because only the best is good enough for my mother.

We went online and she found some really nice decorative planters she wants for her inside plants.  Then she saw the outdoor planters and came up with all sorts of ideas of what to put in them.  She wants some of the garden planters for her patio too.  Not too many but just enough to grew a few herbs in.  She loves fresh herbs.  Then she went back to the indoor planters and picked out a couple of them.  She’s definitely on a buying streak.  I have to admit that I love the decorative planter she picked out for her living room.  It looks great.

As luck would have it

Well we were supposed to go to a carnival today but as luck would have it, it’s raining.  That means no carnival.  Now I’m wondering if that means the date is off or if he’ll come up with something else to do.  I sure hope so.  He hasn’t called me yet so I’m not sure what to do.  We were supposed to leave about 12 o’clock today and I’m dressed and ready to go.  I sure hope he doesn’t just leave me sitting here without a phone call or anything.  That would not be cool at all!!  I don’t think he’s that type of guy though.  Oh there’s the phone.  Maybe it’s him.

Here’s a good idea

Since we’ve been having so much rain, I need to get some  rain barrels to collect the rain so I can water my flowers outside when it quits raining so much.  That’s one of the best ideas I’ve had in a long time, don’t you think.  They have some really nice looking rain water barrels now and not just those old wooden type of barrels.  They not only are a great way to conserve water but they look great too.

Rain harvesting is really easy if you stop and think about it.  All you do is sit the barrel somewhere the rain can hit it and you’re collecting the rain.  How hard is that.  I found rain barrels for sale online and picked out a couple for myself and even told my mother about them.  She’s going to order some too.

Well it’s a rainy day again!!

Rain has become a real pain lately.  When it all first started, I was really glad to see it but after about a month of it, I’m kind of sick of it.  We had 11 straight days of rain before we had a nice day.  I don’t think we have to worry that we’re in a drought anymore but I’m not sure.  I haven’t heard the weather man say anything about it so we must not have to worry about that now.  I hope not anyway and I also hope that we get a few sunny days soon too.

Talked to Mom about getting an ADT Alarm System

Since my mother has been doing so much to the house I’m sure that people are noticing.  The problem is what people that might be.  See there was a house on the block behind hers that someone broke into and destroyed whatever they didn’t take.  I would hate to see something like that happen to Mom and her home.  I was telling her about ADT Home Security and how they monitor your home 24 hours a day and 7 days a week so there’s not one minute in one day that someone is not looking after her and her home.  I know I would feel a lot better if she had ADT installed.

She said that she has always felt safe in her home but I know that was because of Daddy being there with her.  Well he’s not there to protect her anymore so she really needs something like an ADT alarm system to keep her safe.  I then told her that with the ADT alarm system, they also monitor the house for floods, carbon monoxide as well as break-in or even personal emergencies.  What if she was having chest pains?  ADT has a button she would push and they would send someone right out to check on her .  Now that’s security.
