Bitter Cold

It snowed yesterday and got very cold. The snow was blowing around from about 1:30 in the afternoon until I went to bed. But when I woke up this morning, there was hardly any snow on the ground.

Now we are expecting more snow tomorrow. They are forecasting about an inch to an inch and a half. I wonder if it is going to stay cold enough for the snow tomorrow to stick around for a few days. I would love to make a snowman, but I won’t have time until the weekend.

No Shadow – Yay!

The groundhog did not see his shadow this morning. That is great news!

According to the Groundhog Day legend, if the groundhog sees his shadow when he first comes out of his hole this morning, the shadow scares him so badly that he runs right back into his hole and stays there for 6 weeks.

But if he does not see his shadow, he stays outside and we all get to enjoy an early Spring.

So, we are hoping for an early Spring and the groundhog is saying that we will have one!

Hot Apple Cider

Winter makes me crave comfort foods, like meatloaf or chicken and dumplings. I also crave hot beverages, like hot green tea, hot chocolate and hot apple cider. I just tried the Caramel Apple Spice drink from Starbucks, and I LOVE it! If you like apple cider, I hope you give this a try next time you go to Starbucks. It’s dee-lish!

Toothache

Woke up this morning and ate a sausage biscuit. But there must have been a small piece of bone or grissel in the sausage, because I bit down and hurt my tooth. I can’t tell if it is broken or cracked or what, but I hope I can get in to see my dentist today – this is painful.

Cell Phone Rechargers

My cell phone recharger got stepped on and now it doesn’t work. I have to get to the store and buy a new one ASAP. My phone battery doesn’t last long any way, so if I don’t recharge the phone every night I run out of battery charge before the day is done.

Sobes On Sale

Love it when my favorite drinks go on sale. This week Kroger has the Sobe drinks for a special price of just 50 cents per bottle, with a limit of 10 per customer. Usually the Sobes are $1.59 at the grocery store and $2.59 at the convenience stores. So 50 cents is an incredible bargain. I will have to go to Kroger every day this week and buy the maximum 10 bottles to stock up!

Lets Grill

Its too hot to cook dinner in the kitchen. If I turn on the oven the temperature in the kitchen will shoot through the roof. It’s already over 100 degrees outside. Yuck.

I think we should grill a couple of steaks and have a nice salad. What do you think?
