It’s a date!!

Ever since the new guy started at work, I have had a crush on him, and I have been dreaming of him coming up to me asking me out, and by golly he did! Not exactly in those words, but the other day was very rough and hard on me, and I felt like I needed somebody to talk to. He must have seen it in my eyes and asked me if I needed someone to talk to.

After I told him about my day and how it went, he had full intentions to make me smile and feel better for the rest of the day. All he did was give me advice and gave me a shoulder to lean on, and that got me to finally open up to him that I sort of have a crush on him.

He took my news very well, and had asked me to go with him tomorrow to a Carnival that was held about an hour away from where I live, and I of course said yes! I would be a fool to say anything other then yes. I cant wait to see how everything works out, I’m sure it will all go smoothly and heavenly! Or I hope it will anyway.

I’m watching the banks

I used to dabble a little in the stock market until that all went down the tubes.  That’s true of a lot of people too unfortunately.  Now I have been checking online to find the Best CD Rates so I will at least know my money will be there and even gain a little anyway instead of worrying it’ll all be gone.

Mom’s at it again!

Now she called me and wants me to come over and clean out her gutters Saturday.  I don’t want to do that on Saturday, I have better things to do.  I told her that she needs to check into getting Gutter Guard for her gutters so that the leaves and stuff like that can’t get in the anymore.  She’s wanting to make improvements to the house and that would be a huge improvement if you ask me.

Best of all, Gutter Protection isn’t just that mesh stuff that you used to only be able to get.  They even make gutter roofs too now.  There’s a company out of Chicago that keeps up on all of the latest ways to protect your gutters.  Because of that, they’ll always have the best state of the art products.  I suggested she check with them and see if they have a company somewhere around here.  One of my friends at work was saying their parents just had them do that to their gutters and they are totally satisfied.  This company has been in business for over 15 years so they must be doing something right.  Sounds like a heck of a good idea to me for her to check into it.  I just hope they have a company around here or can recommend one anyway.

Wow this is great for New Jersey

New Jersey has a new web site to help people find jobs. New Jersey Jobs helps companies to find employees and help the unemployed to find companies that are hiring.   It’s through the Chamber of Commerce too so that just gives people another way to search for a job.  I know New Jersey has always had a bit of a bad reputation but how bad can it be when some very famous people are from there.  Bruce Springstein is just one of many that grew up there.  It’s really a beautiful state if you’ve never been the and also has one of the highest per capita incomes of all 50 states.  You just might want to consider checking it out if you’re in need of a job.  I sure wouldn’t hesitate if I needed a job.

$50 Lesson

My cousin just sent this to me in an email. I thought it was funny. No I’m not a dedicated Republican or Democrat either. I vote for the person not the party, just so you know.

I recently asked my friend’s little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, ‘If you were President what would be the first thing you would do? ‘She replied, ‘I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.’ Her parents beamed.

‘Wow…what a worthy goal’, I told her. ‘But you don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.’

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ‘Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work,and you can just pay him the $50?’ I said, ‘Welcome to the Republican Party’.

Her parents still aren’t speaking to me.

Stocks might be scary right now

With all of the mess dealing with the stock market and the banks not doing so well either, online trading might be the last thing you would want to consider.  Well it’s never too late to get started saving for retirement either and I’m sure a lot of people have lost a lot of their retirement they thought was secure.  I have heard a lot of economist say that now is the time to buy stocks.  Maybe you should check into online trading.

I’ve been checking into an online broker and have learned a lot about stocks from them.  I honestly wish I knew and understood more but these guys are working real hard to help me understand all of this.  Stock trading was always my fathers thing and when I had questions, he would explain it to me.  Since he’s gone now, I have to trust someone else and I think I have found them.  Maybe they have something to offer you too.  It’s worth a shot to at least check it out.

The IRS does not email you so beware!!!!

Do not fall for this.  The internal Revenue Service does not email you even if you have e-filed your taxes.  It’s just a scam and they’re trying to steel your identity.  I got this in my email and now I’m scrambling to make sure I didn’t mess up by not realizing this was a scam.

My sister moved to Raleigh

My sister and her husband moved to Raleigh, North Carolina.  They bought a really nice house that has a two car garage attached to it but it doesn’t have any garage doors on it, can you believe that?  That just floored me that it didn’t have them.  She was telling me that they wanted to have some installed but since they just moved there, she wasn’t sure how to find someone reputable to do the work for them.  Her husband isn’t the most handy of all men but he’s a good man just the same.

I suggested she check Raleigh garage doors and she would have a better chance of finding someone that was not only reputable, but would do the job right and possibly find one that will do it at a fair price too.   In this day in time we all need to watch our pennies as they say so finding someone that will do the job right and not charge you an arm and a leg is just about as important as finding someone to do a good job.  I can’t wait to visit her and see her new house.  She sent me a picture of the house and when they get the garage doors installed, it’s going to look absolutely beautiful for sure.

So many need help

With so many people losing their jobs these days, a lot of them are looking for a new career.  I think that’s a wonderful idea too.  So many people have had jobs that are simply disappearing and once they’re gone, they’re gone so going back to school and taking classes and possibly getting a degree or new career is the best chance they have.  I know several guys that are now going to a heavy equipment operator school.   Not only do they train you to operate heavy equipment but they also help you find a job.  That’s a huge plus to this school I think.

One of the guys that I know that’s going to school there even got a scholarship to help pay for his school.  He was working for a textile factory in the south and we all know how fast those jobs are going away.  There’s not much hope of him finding another job in that same industry.  Another friend works in a low paying job and really needed a better job since he’s getting married and wants to start a family.  Well these jobs as a heavy equipment operator pay very well so that was his best chance of getting a better paying job.  Even women are taking classes with them which I think is great.

Lots of people waiting for their tax refund

I know so many people that are hoping and praying their tax refund comes soon so they can get out of the financial bind they have gotten themselves into just trying to make ends meet.  Some of them have gotten into trouble because of credit cards and are trying to stop what they feel is the only option which is to file bankruptcy.  The economy has hurt so many good people that have never had financial trouble before and they just don’t have any idea what to do but bankruptcy isn’t the answer all of the time.  There are other options available that not enough people know about.
