How to save some American jobs and we can help!

I got this in an email and thought it needed to be shared by any means possible. Here’s what the email read:

I want to share with you some great information that I found out purely by accident. I believe it can also save and create jobs in America while giving people better customer service.

So how many times have you called a company’s service phone line and found that the rep. can barely speak English? Once with a major mortgage company it was so bad I demanded to speak with someone who spoke English. Right at that moment I broke the code, the secret password for customer service.

Come to find out that every American company using overseas operators must transfer you to an American rep. by saying…….” I want to speak to a representative in America “. (Don’t take no for an answer on this)

This was confirmed by the American rep. that they must transfer you after that request. I’ve tried it on a half a dozen major companies including cable, bank, phone and mortgage companies. It works every time and I actually get my issues taken care of.

Last thing to help save even more jobs…. don’t use the automated check out lanes they are pushing at the big box stores. Once again I found out that if we use those check outs rather than cashiers people loose their jobs too. I’ve refused to use the automated check outs and have had two cashiers already thank me for help saving their job.

Neighbor next door

My neighbor next door has the sweetest 11 year old daughter, Kendall.  She loves to come over to my house and does as often as her mother will allow.  See, I have a computer and they don’t have one an she loves to play games online on my computer.  I always let her play as long as she wants.  She’s a huge Hanna Montana fan too which I think is great because she really writes some great songs to help young girls feel good about themselves.  Well I was looking for some new games to show her online and found a site full of Girl Games. I couldn’t wait to show her.

She usually plays different games that have to do with dressing up or cooking, you know, girl games!   I had even bought her the game Disney kitchen and she loved it but she’s about outgrown that and that’s why I was looking for more online games for her.  Her mother usually let’s her come over two or three times a week and when she does, I let her play for as long as she’s here which is usually a couple of hours before her mother calls for her to come back home.  I think my mother is going to get a laptop computer and she said she wants to give Kendall her old one if her mother will let her have it.  The only problem is I probably won’t get to see her as much then!

They’re installing new software at work

They just told us Friday that when we come back in Monday, they will have some new software installed that will not only help the office, but will help each of us individually and as a group.  Sometimes we have a project that we work on as a team and if we’re under a tight deadline, then we have to work on it over the weekend to get it completed in time.  Well this new software is going to be a huge help with that.  It’s a remote access software that will allow computers to ‘hook up’ to each other.

One of the best features of this software is the fact that if you’re having computer troubles, they can fix the problem by hooking up to another computer and fix it from that computer.  Anything from configuration issues to what ever else can go wrong and you know how computers can be sometimes.  I really think mine is a blond as goofy as it acts from time to time.  Another great thing about this software is the fact that PROXY Pro 6 Workstation Edition uses authentication and fine-grained permissions to make sure that only authorized technicians can access remote computers. It also has state-of-the-art 256-bit encryption which ensures that all communications are private and secure so you won’t have to worry that just anyone can access your computer.

I love movies

I guess I got my love of watching movies from my mother. She loves the old classics thought. I found out where you can Watch movies online. Isn’t that the neatest thing. No more renting from the local video store or ordering from an online movie club and then waiting for them to come to you only to have to send them back. All you have to do is sit back in your computer chair and Watch movies right there anytime.  They have all types of movies from animated for the kids or the kid in you to horror movies.  I’m not much on those.  Give me a good old fashioned chick flick and I’m happy.

Mom’s at it again!

Now she called me and wants me to come over and clean out her gutters Saturday.  I don’t want to do that on Saturday, I have better things to do.  I told her that she needs to check into getting Gutter Guard for her gutters so that the leaves and stuff like that can’t get in the anymore.  She’s wanting to make improvements to the house and that would be a huge improvement if you ask me.

Best of all, Gutter Protection isn’t just that mesh stuff that you used to only be able to get.  They even make gutter roofs too now.  There’s a company out of Chicago that keeps up on all of the latest ways to protect your gutters.  Because of that, they’ll always have the best state of the art products.  I suggested she check with them and see if they have a company somewhere around here.  One of my friends at work was saying their parents just had them do that to their gutters and they are totally satisfied.  This company has been in business for over 15 years so they must be doing something right.  Sounds like a heck of a good idea to me for her to check into it.  I just hope they have a company around here or can recommend one anyway.

A web host can make or break your site

I have found out the hard way that the web host you choose can make or break your web site.  Even it’s just a blog site, you want people to be able to access it at any time so your choice of web host is very important.  The way I chose my web host was by researching web hosting online.  They do all of the research for you.  They will tell you which ones are the best for blogs, ecommerce sites or whatever you are looking for.  They even will break them down by which is the best web host for your money so you can’t go wrong that way.

You have got to see this!!

A friend of mine recommended I check this video out but she also suggested I read the following before I watched the video. It is almost unbelievable. Watch how all of the balls wind up in catcher cones.

This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa — farm equipment!

It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it was WELL worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.

Sometimes I hate my computer!

You’re sitting in front of this thing that holds so much of your life within it just typing along and all of a sudden…………..nothing.  I have had this happen to me and I was absolutely horrified.  I called the computer manufacturer, the store I purchased my computer from and even my friendly computer geek and no one could help me.  I thought for sure all was lost and that was just hard for me to cope with.  Sure I back up everything but not always on a disk and besides, when the darn thing crashes to the point it says there’s no operating system, what the heck do you do?  Personally, I cried.

I just wish I had known about Data Recovery and how a simple disk can get your computer back along with all of the data you have stored on your computer.  It’s a lot cheaper to buy one of their many disks to recover whatever it is you have lost than it is to buy a new computer and then try to find everything you had on the one that crashed and get it back on the new computer.  Sometimes the cause is your own fault and sometimes it’s a virus but whatever the causes, they have a program that will solve your problem.

I don’t know if you are into things like this or not but even if you aren’t, you might enjoy seeing this. Is proves to me that they were here but I so still believe in creationism and not Darwin’s theory.

New security system for Mom’s house

I’m surprised that Mom didn’t think of this earlier but she’s having a Home Security System installed in her home and at the beach house too.  Since she lives alone now and is having a lot of work done around the house, she decided it might not be such a bad idea to have a little more security around the house.  Dad was the security system before but now that he’s gone, I think it’s a great idea.

She’s decided to go with an ADT security system.  They really do provide great security to home owners as and are considered to be the # 1 home security system.  That tells me that they’re doing something right them.  If not, they sure wouldn’t be considered #1, right?  They also provide security to a lot of the Fortune 500 businesses too.

I know I’ll sleep a lot better knowing that Mom has a good Security System watching over her.  In fact, I just might have one put in my home too.  You just can’t be too careful these days, especially if you live alone.
