He did stuff like this too

Remember me telling about the comedy club?  Well this guy was a lot like him.  In fact, for all I know, it might have been him but I don’t think so.  Listen to what he’s singing, he’s got it nailed!!! I personally would have to kill my husband if he did some of the things this guy sings about.

This is too amazing

I know that someone had to have been standing outside of our house while we were growing up and wrote this song.  It sounds just like my mother.  Oh I hope she doesn’t read this.  Love you bunches Mom!!!  Knowing her she would laugh and not be mad so don’t worry.  I won’t be grounded!

This is the coolest thing I have ever seen

Animals absolutely amaze me.  The Cameleon is one of the strangest creatures God ever created.  I knew they changed colors to camouflage themselves to their surroundings but I had no idea just how fast they could change colors or the extent of the colors they could adapt to.  You have to watch this video.  It will blow your mind.  I know it did mine.

You have got to be kidding me!

My sister had me stop by after work so she could show me the American Idol finale.  I just knew Adam would win.  Did you see it?  I thought he out sang the lead singer of Kiss!!!  He was great.  Then when they announce the winner, it was Kris?  The judges thought for sure Adam would win and even Kris said that Adam should have won.  That’s okay, he’ll make it huge, you just wait and see.  In fact, I bet Slash will have him as the lead singer of his new group since he doesn’t have a lead singer yet.  I just had to share Adam with Kiss with you.  Enjoy!!!

American Idol

I don’t watch a lot of TV and you already know my favorite show is Dancing with the Stars but American Idol is one of my sisters favorite shows.  She always records it on her DVR so if something really good is on that show one night, she can show it to me.  Well that boy on the show…Adam something, has the best voice I have heard in a long time.  Man is he a cutie pie too.  I figured he would win the show because I thought he was the best, most versatile and had a range that would blow you away.

Guess what?  He came in second to someone that is also good but doesn’t hold a match to Adam.  I’m sorry but that’s my opinion.  I think I know why the other guy won and Adam didn’t.  I think it’s the fact that Adam may not be heterosexual, he could be homosexual but what does that have to do with the fact that the boy is amazingly talented?  Nothing at all.  He reminds me of Freddie Mercury of Queen.  He’s very flamboyant and puts on a heck of a show.  I really think it’s a shame that America is still a bit homophobic.  I have several friends that are homosexual and that has nothing to do with our friendship at all.  I love them for who they are, period!!!

Lousy weather

Well yesterday it rained most of the day and not today, it’s dreary and chilly on top of it.  This is the type of weather that’s only good for one thing and that’s laying around the house watching movies or listening to some good music with a nice pot of homemade soup in the slow cooker.  I don’t know where the heck spring when it sure left here.  Hopefully it will be back tomorrow but I haven’t watched the weather to know.  Guess I’ll find out later on what I need to wear to work tomorrow.  The way it feels right now, I would say a coat!!!

Dance yourself around the world

Today I learned that Matt existed. I never knew Matt before; in fact I still haven’t met him in person. I have, however, learned that he exists and that he has traveled around the world making videos of himself dancing. He actually know he has a website about his trip around the world, showing clips of himself dancing at the different locations where he went. Now I don’t mean tap dancing, or break dancing, or any kind of formal training “gee he’s great” dancing. He does not happen to be a good dancer, but what is remarkable about this is that eventually he got a sponsor to pay for him to travel around the world dancing and videotaping himself. Twice! In real life, he has never cared much for work and is not rich, so the fact that he managed to travel around the world at all is remarkable! If you can watch the video, I encourage you to do so. It is entertaining to see.

You have got to see this!!

A friend of mine recommended I check this video out but she also suggested I read the following before I watched the video. It is almost unbelievable. Watch how all of the balls wind up in catcher cones.

This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa — farm equipment!

It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it was WELL worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.

My favorite show starts back tonight

I am a ‘Dancing with the stars’ freak.  I absolutely love that show.  I didn’t watch the first season and I’m not sure why but I did watch the second season and have been hooked ever since.  There have been some pleasant surprises on the show like Cloris Leachman.  She was absolutely wonderful!!  I have to admit that I am not a fan of Jerry Springer but when he did the waltz that he wanted to do with his daughter on her wedding day, it was very touching!!  Layla Ali was great and when her father came to one of the shows, I cried.  I have always been a huge fan of Muhammad Ali.

There have already been some stars that have had to drop out because of injuries.  I have seen several injuries throughout the show but this is the first year that some have had to drop out before the show ever started.  I’m just so excited, I can’t wait.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss?

That is about the most unlikely pairing I have heard of yet when it comes to music.  Everyone knows Robert Plant from Led Zepplin and Allison Krauss started off as a Bluegrass singer.  Talk about opposites when it came to music but somehow they clicked together and won a total of 5 Grammy’s.  Go figure.

The 51st annual Grammys was an all-ages affair ultimately dominated by a rock legend who took up with a younger bluegrass singer on a whim.  The unlikely pairing of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss that produced the hit album “Raising Sand” won five Grammys on Sunday including album of the year. The former Led Zeppelin front man, previously best known for his high-decibel shrieking and rock star theatrics, found more docile Nashville melodies with Krauss.

While accepting the Grammy for album of the year, the 37-year-old Krauss – perhaps wanting to remind the audience that Plant’s rock star hadn’t entirely matured – said there’s “never a dull moment” with the 60-year-old singer.
