You have got to see this!!

A friend of mine recommended I check this video out but she also suggested I read the following before I watched the video. It is almost unbelievable. Watch how all of the balls wind up in catcher cones.

This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa — farm equipment!

It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it was WELL worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.

Sometimes I hate my computer!

You’re sitting in front of this thing that holds so much of your life within it just typing along and all of a sudden…………..nothing.  I have had this happen to me and I was absolutely horrified.  I called the computer manufacturer, the store I purchased my computer from and even my friendly computer geek and no one could help me.  I thought for sure all was lost and that was just hard for me to cope with.  Sure I back up everything but not always on a disk and besides, when the darn thing crashes to the point it says there’s no operating system, what the heck do you do?  Personally, I cried.

I just wish I had known about Data Recovery and how a simple disk can get your computer back along with all of the data you have stored on your computer.  It’s a lot cheaper to buy one of their many disks to recover whatever it is you have lost than it is to buy a new computer and then try to find everything you had on the one that crashed and get it back on the new computer.  Sometimes the cause is your own fault and sometimes it’s a virus but whatever the causes, they have a program that will solve your problem.

Cousin in England has some really cute clothes

My cousin that lives in England came for a visit and I swear she has some of the cutest clothes I have seen in a long time.  You know how us girls are about clothes.  We had a blast going through each others clothes and sharing them just like we used to do when we were teenagers.  Luckily we are still the same size just like always so I got the pleasure of wearing some of her clothes.  I had to ask where they came from so she got on my computer and brought up Plus Size Clothing where she shops for most of her clothes.

No neither of us are what you would call ‘large ladies’ but we are built a bit large with broad shoulders so plus size clothes fit our shoulders and body type better than other sizes.  The ‘Homespun’ collection is my favorite.  It’s sort of like back in the 70’s type styles and I love those style of clothes.  They’re comfortable and have a ‘free’ look to them if that makes any sense to you.  The ‘Bohemian’ collection is perfect for an evening out or for work too.  My cousin and I have the same taste in clothes so she let me purchase some of her clothes and she’ll buy them again for herself when she gets back home.  I really need to learn how to convert their money into ours so I can buy from their site too.

I love Blomus stainless steel

There’s just something about stainless steel in your home that makes a statement.  That statement is class to me.  I have a Blomus stainless steel mailbox on my front porch and it looks wonderful plus it will last a long time too.  My fireplace is the center of my living room because of the Blomus stainless steel fireplace accessories I have.   They really make the fireplace the focus of the whole room.

Divorce hurts children too

It’s sad when a family breaks up.  Sure it’s hard on the couple but what about the children?  They are sometimes treated like property or a bargaining chip which only hurts the children even more.  Luckily in this day in time parents are beginning to realize just what divorce does to their children and are trying to make it as painless as possible for their children.  Usually it takes lawyers and sometimes mediators to come to  reasonable visitation or time-sharing if you will, for both parents.  With lawyers or the court system, there’s a lot of money involved also which can lead to even more arguing.

Now there’s a software called Parenting Plan which acts as a mediator would but saves the parents a lot of money. It’s also recognized in all courts so it could save your children a lot of heartache, you a lot of money and the courts a lot of time trying to make two adults act like two adults instead of two children fighting over their children. Can you imagine how a child would feel in that situation? I have seen it happen too many times and with the divorce rate so high, I’m going to recommend this to anyone I know getting a divorce that has children.

My friend is so very into this game

I have a friend that is so very into this game called world of warcraft battle chest that it’s his main form of entertainment.  I personally don’t get into games but he sure does.  In fact, he’s always playing battle chest it seems.  To each his own I guess.  But he’s been looking for a wow cdkey and I found where he can get one online a lot cheaper than he’s been able to find.  Now I am his new best friend.

Looks like Mom’s remodeling more than the house

Like I have been telling you, Mom is doing a lot of new things to the house like new blinds, new furniture and even some remodeling of the beach house.  Well it seems that she’s even doing a little remodeling of herself too.  She started complaining about having some discoloration on her face.  I guess you would call them age spots and she’s not liking what she’s seeing.  Daddy was always telling her how beautiful she is and now all she gets to hear is how she thinks she looks and she’s starting to think she looks old.  I think she looks great for her age but when I said that, she didn’t appreciate it.

Next thing I know, I find Obagi Clear in her bathroom cabinet. No I wasn’t snooping, I was looking for a bandage. In wanting to make sure my mother had bought a good product, I decided to check it out. She couldn’t have gotten a better product after what I read. Mom’s getting new blinds too

Boy once I finally talked Mom into doing some redecorating and remodeling, she’s going at it full blast.  She was searching for next day blinds because she hates to wait and found some great sites.  I didn’t realize she knew so much about doing searches online.  She’s really amazing me with not only her computer skills but also her skills in finding next day blinds.

She has started in the living room and sure enough, she did get her next day blinds just as promised by their web site.  I loved the ones she picked for the living room too.  They made such a difference.  I didn’t realize that by simply changing the blinds with the ones she found on next day blinds that it would make that much difference but it sure did.

She’s taking one room at a time and now said it’s time for her to check out the next day blinds site to find just what she wants for the dining room.  I’m sure that she won’t stop there either now that she’s on a roll.

What beautiful flowers

I have a cousin that lives in New York City and for Easter, her mother had some of the most beautiful flowers delivered to her since she couldn’t come home for Easter.  She ordered them online from New York Flower Delivery and had them delivered to her at her work on Friday.  Of course, everyone wanted to know who was sending her flowers.  They thought she had a boyfriend hidden somewhere or something.

I checked online to see just how much my aunt paid for the flowers since they were absolutely beautiful.  I was surprised at the price too.  It was very reasonable and cheaper than anything even slightly similar around here.  They do custom arrangements and are really great at it too.  The flowers were very fresh and my cousin said they are still beautiful today.

Work boots and more

I don’t know about you but I love to wear work boots when I’m not a work.  I don’t think they look quite right with a dress in the office, ya know?  But I guess about my favorite boots of all are Wolverine Boots believe it or not.
