I finally found what I want

I have been looking for a new laptop computer but just haven’t wanted to spend that much on one.  I guess you could call me frugal or a tight wad if you prefer but I like to hang on to as much money as I can and still get what I need.

Anyway, I was on Dell.com looking around and accidentally came across their refurbished computers.  Now you’re talking!!!  I found a great deal on a Latitude and saved about half of what a brand new one would have cost me.  I like Dell because you can count on them.  They make great laptops.  I have known several people that have had them and some that have had other brands.  If someone that had a Dell ever did have a problem, Dell made it right.  I can’t say that about the others.  Oh I’m sure they’re good computers too but I like Dell Computers personally.

Things I ordered just arrived

Boy was I glad to see the UPS truck pull in.  I had ordered a bunch of stuff from abcdistributing.com and it was getting a bit too close to Christmas for my comfort.  I was scared to death that something had happened to my package because it was supposed to be here three days ago.  They had never let me down at ABC Distributing before so I kept my fingers crossed and hoped for the best.  I almost gave the UPS guy a big hug when he knocked on my door.

I kept remembering one Christmas when Mom ordered just about everything we girls were getting from JC Penney’s and they promised her that she would have the items by the beginning of December.  Well it didn’t come and it didn’t come and Mom called and called and all they could tell her is it was shipped and should be there and IF it isn’t, then give it a day or two and it will be there.

Just four days before Christmas, Mom had to go out and try to find presents for us for Christmas.  It was crazy and we didn’t get hardly anything we had asked for but it was still a good Christmas.  Then in February, the UPS guy knocked on the door with a package……………you guessed it, our Christmas presents.  Mom told him to take it back and make sure they took as long to get it back to JC Penney’s as it took for them to get it to her.

I always plan ahead, usually

Well I have already started my Christmas shopping list.  Have you?  I try really hard to get all of my Christmas shopping done or mostly done by Thanksgiving.  That means I have to plan ahead.  Since there’s only one little fella in our family, he’s easy to buy for.  He loves Mater from the movie ‘Cars’.  Well I have seen an alarm clock with Mater on it and it says some of the cutest things to wake a kid up.  I know he’s going to love that.

My mother really needs a new camera.  She still has a 35 mm Kodak that she’s had for as long as I can remember.  Well I have thought about getting her a new digital camera.  I’m not sure if she’s ready for a digital video recorder or not.  She’s not technologically advanced at all.  In fact, she’s technologically challenged to put it gently.  Don’t even mention computer to her either.

My sisters aren’t hard to buy for.  We all have similar tastes so if I like something, they usually do too.  Even with that, I’m going to have to do some thinking about what to get them.  Daddy left each of us enough money to get what we needed and that doesn’t leave much room for others to get much for us.  I’ll come up with something more than a gift card.
