Recession hurting a lot of marriages

Everyone knows that one of the main things that destroys relationships is money.  It seems that this recession is not only taking it’s toll on investors and home owners but also on their marriages.  That’s not too hard to figure out is it?

If there’s not enough money to pay the bills, of course it causes major stress between the couple.  Of course they don’t mean to blame the other for being laid off but it’s hard not to sometimes.  I’m just really glad that I’m not in a relationship right now.  I have a hard enough time keeping myself happy, much less trying to keep my partner happy too.

Sure my dinners don’t have nearly as much steak or high priced meats as they did a few months ago.  You cut back where you can and hope for the best but when there’s two of you and a mortgage, two car payments and so on, it’s hard to cut back when you have next to nothing coming in.  I wish them all the best and hope and pray that the recession doesn’t break up as many families as it has displaced workers.

New Bedroom furniture for me maybe?

Helping Mom look for new furniture has gotten me interested in maybe getting a new bedroom suite too.  I found some ideal standard bathrooms online that really sparked my interest.  The selection was great so it took me quite a while to find just a couple that I could narrow my choices to.

Then I decided to check out bathroom accessories that would go along with my new look in my bedroom.  There’s nothing worse than having a master bedroom with a bathroom in it that doesn’t flow along with the bedroom decor.  I have seen that too many times in my friends homes.  To me, it takes away from the beautiful bedroom if the bathroom doesn’t reflect the same style, you know?

Then I came across the kudos showers and suddenly decided I needed a part time job to do what I wanted to do to both my bedroom and master bathroom.  But you know what, it’s going to be fabulous when I finish.  I can’t wait to get started.

Mom thinking about redecorating

Since my father passes, my mother has been in a bit of a slump.  I guess I should say that she has grieved for a long time.  My sisters and I had a long talk with her about it and I even told her about what I was going to do for her for Valentines day.  I really think all of what we had to say came as a shock to her.  She just didn’t realize it showed I think.

We told her she needed to make some positive changes so she could get on with her life.  Well she popped up and said she would love to get some new furniture.  We all thought that was a wonderful idea.  He said that she has always liked furnishing from Italy or Germany.  Daddy didn’t so they had what he wanted instead of what she liked.  They make some of the prettiest modern furniture and that’s what she was wanting to do, go modern.

I told her about a web site that carried furnishings from Spain and Belgium too.  She loved the thought and went straight to her computer and started shopping.  The best part is that the furniture is 100% guaranteed authentic.  Once we started looking at the furniture, all of us understood what it was Mom liked about furniture from there.  It’s absolutely gorgeous.  The first thing she picked out was a wonderful bed by Ruf Betten.  It is wonderful but sure was a surprise to us that it was something Mom wanted.  I can’t wait until she gets it.  I think Mom’s going to be just fine now.

I keep hearing this

My mother has tried to get me to write childrens books for years.  Then the other day, someone else told me that I should be a writer from a not that I had written.  Then in the same day, another friend told me that I could write a book.  I might be able to talk the ears off of a Mule but write a book?  ME?  I don’t know about all of that.

Maybe I’ll try writing a childrens book but once I do then comes the problem of what the heck do I do with it once it’s written?  I don’t have any idea.  I guess I need to do a little research and maybe a little writing too.  Why not?

I found what to give my mother for Valentines Day

Since Daddy passed away, Mom has not taken care of herself like she used to do when Daddy was still alive.  She used to always take good care of her skin, kept her hair fixed and wore some make-up.  Now she just sort of mopes around without fixing her hair and I haven’t seen her wear make-up in far too long.  In fact, she’s starting to really show her age and she’s not that old.

A friend told me about Atlanta med spa.  They said they sent their mother there for her birthday last year and it really made a big difference in her life.  She was in the same situation as my mother.  She had let herself go too.  They told me that they are a results-oriented medical facility and everything they do is without any type of surgery.

I liked the sounds of that because I know Mom won’t have plastic surgery but this sounds like something she would love.  What they do is help erase the signs of aging with state of the art technology to revitalize their skin. It helps to add fullness to your lips and face and shape your body to dramatically reduce the signs of aging. They only offer products, services and procedures that work, are scientifically sound but more important, they are totally safe.

Another beautiful day

I can’t believe how warm it is lately.  The wind is blowing like it does in March and I’m getting spring fever something awful.  I just hate cold weather and what it does to everything.  Everyone gets sick, your skin dries out and you just feel like going to bed, pulling the covers over your head and hibernating till spring.

Well hopefully spring will come early like it seems to be doing.  I sure hope so.  I’m ready to see the leaves on the trees and flowers blooming in the yards.  I’m tired of all the dreary days.  I want to get out and go fishing, go on a picnic or something besides sitting in the house shivering.

My friend is in financial trouble

She has a nasty habit of using her credit cards for everything from gas to groceries and usually pays most of it off when her statement comes but when gas went through the roof, she couldn’t do that.  Now she’s in over her head.  Not to mention, the credit card companies want such high monthly payments now that she’s gotten herself in a bind.

I told her she needs to check into some sort of Debt Settlement and they can help her to get through this rough spot she’s hit in the road.  It can happen to anyone and these guys help in more ways than most.  They will help keep you from having to file bankruptcy which is where she’s headed if she doesn’t do something soon.

They’ll help her to lower her monthly payments by fixing it to where she only has one lower monthly payment that is far more manageable.  She doesn’t even have to talk to the people she owes personally, they do that for you and she could be debt free in 1 to 3 years.  That sounds wonderful if you ask me.  She promised me she would check into it before she did anything else.  I think she’s making the right choice personally.

My cousin had Lasik sugery

I have a cousin that lives in Texas.  She has worn glasses since I can remember and finally got the nerve up to check into having Lasik surgery.  Someone told her that if she was going to have that done, then she should check out Jack Holladay because he’s the best around and just might be considered one of the best period.  Well since it was her vision she was thinking about having something done on, she decided she better check into the doctor to make sure she didn’t get a second rate doctor.

It seems that this is not one of those that claims to be all that.  This doctor is one of the best.  In fact, he’s had over 50 peer reviewed articles published so that says a lot right there.  Not only that but he’s also the past president of an international association of Lasik doctors.  That’s not national but international.  He’s also certified by nonprofit patient advocacy which is wonderful too.  Oh and get this, Jack Holladay teaches other doctors how to perform Lasik so with all of that in mind, he not only talks the talk but also walks the walk as they say.  If I decide to have that done, I’ll be going there too.

My boss is losing his hair

Bless his heart, he’s trying really hard not to let anyone see it but he’s starting to get that thinning on the back of his head at his crown.  You’ve all seen those men that only have thin hair on the back of their head.  It’s funny to see how they comb their hair to try and cover it up.  My boss is always going into the bathroom and stays for quite awhile and I know he’s checking to see if his balding spot is showing because all of a sudden, there’s a hand held mirror in the men’s rest room.

All he needs to do is check out toppik online. A friend of mind told me that her father uses their products and it has really helped his hair not look as thin.  She said they have all sorts of different products from a-z for not only hair loss but skin care too.  That’s how her father learned about the products.  They have good prices and a great discount prices on just about all of their products.  They also have super fast delivery but how in the world would I let my boss know about it without embarrassing him?

What were they thinking?

I just read the funniest article on today.msnbc.msn.com.  It was about some of the strange names people give their children.  I thought Frank Zappa held the record for the weirdest names to name a child between Moon Unit, Dweezle and Motorhead but some of these make those names almost sound normal.

The worst, most humiliating baby names

Ancestry.com shares the silliest, craziest and downright cruelest names of all time.

What would compel a parent to bestow a newborn with a name like “Tiny Hooker” or “Fanny Large”? Or an amusing choice like “Wanna Towell”? It’s not just Hollywood’s elite opting for unique, embarrassing names-throughout history, normal people separated their offspring from the masses with truly terrible names.

In “Bad Baby Names,” Michael Sherrod and Matthew Rayback, of the genealogy Web site Ancestry.com, share thousands of shocking names given to real people, as recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau. Discover the funny names based around common themes, like diseases (Fever Bender, Cholera Peace), food (Bread White, Pomegranate Purple), pets (Good Dog), and if you thought Wednesday Addams was unfortunate-wait till you meet Monday Monday.

I just don’t get it.  Don’t these parents realize what they are setting their child up for when they get school age?  They will be teased and humiliated by their classmates.  Is that what they want for their child?  I sure wouldn’t.
