That wonderful hat!!!!

Check out what’s going on about Aretha Franklins hat she wore to the inaugration.  I thought it was great but I have heard a lot about it in both ways.  Anyway, check out this:

From the moment it appeared at the inauguration, Aretha Franklin’s hat, with its oversize woolen bow bejeweled with Swarovski crystals, has invited commentary. It has its own Facebook page. It has been the subject of YouTube spoofs. Its designer reportedly received 3,000 requests for copies. But now things are getting serious. The Smithsonian Institution – you know, home of the Mercury capsule and a triceratops – wants the hat. The Queen of Soul’s response: I’m thinking about it.

I think that’s quite an honor for her.  At least none of these museums called her wanting it:

Far stranger things have landed in museums, or had museums dedicated to them. So we started searching for some candidates.

In the wearables category, if you’re just interested in hats, there are thousands at The Hat Museum. And the Liberace Museum may have more spangles than … well … anything on Earth. Sometimes the sheer breadth of a collection is what gets noticed. Amass more than 9,000 picture postcards, and you too may find your collection at the New York Met, where it’s now showing.

It goes without saying that there’s a banana museum, but once you get into virtual museums, things really get weird. Consider the Air Sickness Bag Museum. Less disgusting, check out these collections of moist towelettes and Soviet calculators. Add that to your virtual travel itinerary, comrade.

Anyway, here’s to Aretha and her hat.  You gotta love it!!!!
