Celtic style jewelry

I have always loved Celtic jewelry. I love anything Celtic, actually. I think I was born a Celt in a previous life. Yes, I believe in reincarnation and subjects such as this. To me it’s very real and also many times proven. I am a big collector of anything that deals with the original Celtic era and also artifacts of such.

A friend of mine gave me a beautiful ring last year and I wanted to add to my collection of celtic jewelry. She suggested I go online and look for places that would deal with lines of what I was looking for. I hit the jackpot just by typing in certain words.

The Celtic jewelry site I found is awesome. They carry everything! Wedding rings, broaches, necklaces, bracelets and Claddagh rings,  (something I have been looking for) that is of very high quality. These are just a few of the items they have that one can buy. It’s the perfect site to find exactly what you are looking for if you are into the Celtic ways. I even found a perfect 17th Century Claddagh ring that I have wanted for sometime and it looks totally original. I’m going to treat myself to it. Heck, why not? My birthday is coming up soon and it will be my birthday present to myself. I’d be so proud to wear it also!

Started a new book

This week, I’m reading a new book I got at a used book store, so I guess it’s one of those “new to me” books, actually. It’s titled Sizzle and Burn, and the author is Jayne Ann Krentz. It’s great to pick up something at the used book store for only 50 cents and have something new to read. Even if I don’t like the book I don’t have all that much money invested in it and I can trade it back in for another one.

From the jacket cover and the information about the author, apparently she writes under other names also. Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle. She has written more than 50 New York Times bestsellers, everything from contemporary romantic suspense novels to futuristic and historical romance novels.

I’m not much into romance novels, but so far even though I’m only on page 106, this book is indeed a page turner. I’ll save the recommendation if I have one, until I finish, but for now…this seems to be well written and also very interesting.

Wet coffee grounds

First thing in the morning is coffee. I’m totally dependent on coffee to wake up and get myself in gear.

This morning I woke up early as usual, but wasn’t quite “with it” when I went into the kitchen to make my morning cup of coffee. I had forgotten to empty the coffee filter since I was in a hurry yesterday, and when I grabbed the basket out of the coffee maker, coffee grounds flew all over my kitchen. What a mess. If anyone has ever tried to clean up wet coffee grounds, they will tell you that it’s super hard to do. I should have just let them dry and swept them up.

Never again will I ever forget to empty the coffee filter basket before going to bed for the night.

Doggy discipline

Disciplining my dog is something I do believe I’m going to start having to do more of when it comes to people coming to the door. He’s a great watchdog and will bark like crazy, but as hes getting older, he’s also getting a bit mean when it comes to people he hasn’t seen in awhile coming over. This is not cool, considering the holidays are upon us and visitors are coming and going. I worry that he is going to bite someone who is a friend or family member. So, a bit of doggy discipline in in order for him. Not too much, as I still want him to be a watch dog, but well…not for him to bite people unless they are breaking in or unless someone hurts me.

Happy Sunday

Oh what a happy Sunday. I finally got to sleep in for a change. I miss the days when I used to get to sleep in all the time. Oh well, at least I got to today. I am going to have a lazy Sunday. I don’t intend on doing anything, but veg out on the couch and read a book. I need the down time so very badly and since today started off so well, I am keeping with the program. Hope everyone has a great day.

Finding room for our wine in our home

Guest post written by Annie Kemp

Now that we’re empty nesters it seems that just about the only thing that we don’t have room for in our home is the wine that we’ve started collecting as a hobby. We have all of this empty room in everywhere else but the house. But we want to be able to use our home as we see fit now and are renovating several parts of the house as we see fit.

When I was looking around for some info on how to make a wine cellar, just out of curiosity, I saw some info on sears vinyl siding and realized that our home could also use that upgrade.

I’ve explored lots of different options and I think that we’re going to maybe bump out our kitchen and get a wine storage shelf built into the room. I think that it will be such a nice looking addition to the room. I guess that I’ll also have to buy some more wine to fill up all of that storage space.

Early Lunch

Most days i try to wait until noon to fix a sandwich or maybe a bowl of soup for my lunch. But I’ve been hungry all morning. I guess my regular cup of coffee and bowl of Shredded Wheat was not enough to keep my stomach satisfied. I had to eat at 11:00 instead of waiting until noon.

Come to think of it, noon is actually a long stretch between when I wake up and first eat something. Maybe I should move the lunch time back an hour and see if that helps. I find that when I am REALLY hungry that I tend to either snack of little fattening things in between meals, or I eat too big of a portion for my lunch and then I feel bloated and guilty for eating so much.

New glasses

I need new glasses. I made an appointment with the Richmond Hill optometrist today. My appointment with the Richmond Hill Optometrist is on Friday. I need a pair of contacts as well as glasses. There is no excuse to not get my eye examination. It only happens once a year, so it is not that difficult. I actually like my eye doctor as he is better than the last one. The last one had the worst breath on the planet and this one does not.

I think I want to get colored contacts. My eyes are naturally green, and I would like them blue for a little while. There are all kinds of colors and what not for my to choose from. I can even make them like Riddick’s eyes from the Chronicles of Riddick movies. That would be awesome. They look like they can see in the dark they are so cool. Richmond Hill optometrist can help me with that.

Really

Why is it that men always expect you to do everything for them and then they don’t want to do a damned thing for you?

This man always wants my help with every little thing, but when I need him to work on my car or something its an issue. It is really pissing me off. How freaking hard is it to do the guy thing and try to fix whats wrong? Especially when I am doing everything I can to help you with the stuff you asked me to help with! Grrrrrr.

Side job

I got this side job working a convention. I really didn’t need the job, but a friend of mine needed some help because on of her people couldn’t make it. I am now in charge of crowd control. This should be fun. I get to tell people where to go. That is a woman’s dream job, well sort of. I know I am being a smarty pants, but I am in a great mood. I get to spend time with my friend and make a little money on the side. That is definitely a bonus.

I have to set up all of the stanchions and velvet rope that will direct the traffic throughout the convention hall. There will be a buffet as well as a lot of speakers in different rooms, so that means a lot of set up. I will probably help set up the tables and chairs as well. I am sure that my friend will have me doing all kinds of stuff.
