Would this be good for a teenager?

When Shawna told me that her teenage son Justin was interested in learning how to compose and mix his own music, using his computer, I was quite surprised! I had no idea that there would be any kind of software available for a regular computer that would allow a beginner to do things like that.

Shawna told me that Justin was telling her that he might like to learn more about the sony acid music studio software, and see if that would be a good idea to get. I was trying to help out by finding some reviews on the product, but so far I haven’t seen any. So, if any of my readers out there have tried this, I’d like to know what you think – would this be a good program to buy for a teenager that is just starting out?

Planning Your Final Arrangements

It’s not something any of us want to think about, but it’s an important conversation we must have. Many people do nothing to prepare for the time when their final arrangements must be made, adding a burden on to their already grieving and stressed family. Everyone should sit down with a lawyer and write out their will. In it you can spell out your final wishes for your estate and your final arrangements. To make things even easier for those you leave behind, you should look into prepaying for your arrangements. Most funeral homes offer pre-paid plans that include a plot, service and everything else needed to lay you to rest.

If you’re not sure you want a big funeral and burial, or just can’t afford the expense, consider cremation. Companies like Clevelend Cremation provide high quality services with dignity, respect and empathy. They will even provide a customized memorial service, with special options for religious requirements and veterans. Cremation is less expensive than traditional burials, and families that move often like being able to take their loved ones with them. You can even chose the exact type of urn you’d like. So don’t put off this important conversation any longer, plan your final arrangements and give yourself and your loved ones peace of mind.

Repair the credenza

I don’t know how the drawer guides on two of the drawers on the credenza in our dining room managed to get mangled and torn off. Yesterday I was looking for a new book of checks in the drawer where I keep the old check registers and books of checks and deposit slips, and the drawer came crashing down onto the floor. I was lucky it didn’t hit my foot! I found the mangled drawer guide inside the drawer. I don’t know who put it there, or when it was put there, but I was quite annoyed that nobody told me that it was broken so I could arrange to repair it! I hate when things like that happen!

Valentine, Oh Valentine

I love romance! How glorious that we have a holiday dedicated to sweethearts and lovers all over the world!

Ever since I was in high school, Valentine’s Day has been a wonderful day of flowers, chocolates and special dinners with candles, flirting and memorable nights. I love Valentine’s Day!

Always get complete coverage

I was really pleased when my sister told me that she had found the perfect insurance policy for her son’s after she visited the allredinsurance.com website that I had suggested to her a few weeks ago. I had encouraged her to get complete coverage – especially since her son is a teenager who only had his license for a few months. But she did not listen to me, and only got liability. Yesterday he totaled his car in a single vehicle accident! Now they are in the very difficult position of needing to buy a replacement vehicle, and having no money to do so! I sure wish that hadn’t happened!

When Should You Conduct a Solicitor Review

There are many different areas of law and many different services that solicitors offer all over the world and in the UK. Regardless of the service or the area of law, it is important that clients are satisfied with the level of representation they receive from their attorney. Dissatisfaction based upon solicitor negligence can lead to a solicitor review and lawsuits against solicitors. The dissatisfaction can be based on any of these areas or services:

  • The solicitor in question may be engaged in private practise, which means they have their own firm or office engaged in providing services such as probate matters, family or civil law, conveyance, personal injury or criminal law.
  • Solicitors who are involved in commercial practice usually act on behalf of businesses or corporations. They are engaged in advising them on matters relating to employment, taxes, contracts mergers and the laws regarding mergers or the buying and selling of companies.
  • Solicitors who are contracted in-house, provide legal service and advice to the entity to which they are legally contracted. This may be with the local authorities, government, government agents, or private companies.
  • Solicitors that work on behalf of the government Crown prosecution. They examine evidence provided by the authorities and decide based on the merits of the case whether to bring cases before the court for prosecution.

No one is above the law, including solicitors. The actions of all lawyers can be held up for scrutiny and a solicitor review, if the client feels that they have been the victim of solicitor negligence. Regardless of the area of law that the lawyer specialises in or where he is employed. The client expects to receive service and value in exchange for the fees charged.

Here is a list of services that solicitors provide that can be reviewed if the client is dissatisfied:

  • The advice received from a solicitor regarding any legal matter may be the subject of a review if the client suspects negligence.
  • The solicitor’s representation of you in court should be above reproach and inspire confidence.
  • Preparing documents or files for court matters. Documentation should be  well prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Their instructions to another solicitor, insurer or any other third party on your behalf. Instructions, should be clear and in accordance with your expressed wishes.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed financial records. Records pertaining to billing and all monetary manners should be detailed and accurate to prevent allegations of misappropriation of funds or incorrect billing.
  • Legally constructing contracts, agreements, letters or any documents. Documentation drawn up on behalf of clients must be in accordance with established legal principles and the best interest of the client.
  • Conduct research, using past cases that may be similar in nature to your case. Solicitors perform research duties for clients using old case law and precedents to make recommendations.
  • Representing and safeguarding the clients interest at negotiations and meetings. Solicitor often attend meetings either with or on behalf of clients. It is their job to carry out the instructions of their clients and safeguard their interests.

Bite My Tongue

Why am I so hostile lately? It seems like I can’t find anything nice to say to anyone. I make comments on Facebook and get people all riled up. I send IMs and people just want to argue. I’m scared to send an email to anyone – I’ll probably just get my head bitten off for offending someone.

I’m going to just bite my tongue for a few days until my mood improves. After all, if you can’t say anything nice, you should not say anything at all.

Having the Talk

There has never been a good outcome for me when someone (whether friend, family, co-worker, or boss) has told me, “We need to talk.” When I hear that I want to run right home, crawl into bed and pull the covers up over my head!

My mother had a unique way of bringing up a problem. She would say, “I have a bone to pick with you.”

Dance lessons

When Sissy heard that I was thinking about signing up for some dance classes, and couldn’t decide between ballroom, clogging, ballet, tap, or belly dance classes, she immediately decided that she was going to sign up for private dance lessons in santa monica herself. When she told me that, I had to work hard to restrain myself from making a snarky comment about how it seems that every time she hears that I am thinking about doing something, that she immediately has to say she is thinking about doing the same thing, but it is always “up a notch” as if to make herself look like she is better than me.

I’m thinking about telling her that I’m going to have some exotic body art work done, and see if she runs right out and does it first, and then not do it myself at all – just for a good laugh at her expense!
