Old friends

Social networks can be a lot of fun and re connect people who have seemingly disappeared from your life. People move and we lose track of them as the years pass by, but not anymore. Now we find those who were lost from our lives. I have made a lot of re connections over the last couple of years through Face Book, but I have had just as many sad moments when I find out someone is sick, dying or passed away already. There have been quite a few of those lately and I am starting to feel a little old.

Two days ago and old friend who was part of a group of friends I used to hang out with had a massive stroke. He is only forty nine years old. He was always one of the older members of our group but he isn’t old by any stretch of the word. I am worried for his recovery right now, as he cannot say any other word but the word no and cannot move the right side of his body. It is very sad for his daughter who is having to deal with her father in this condition at such a young age. I hope and pray for his speedy recovery.

So pretty

Oh he is just beautiful. I wish I had a horse that looked like that. I have always loved horses. Like most girls, they fascinated me when I was young, and apparently I have not outgrown that. I doubt that most women really do. Once you fall in love with horses, it stays with you for life.

Glad that’s over

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I know that we still have the New Years celebration to do yet, but I don’t really count that as part of the holiday. After all I am back to work before then and it’s just another day. Fortunately for me I am not in retail or service and don’t have to worry about being inundated with customers because of it. I really feel sorry for those who work in the industries previously mentioned. They get so busy they barely have time to breath.

Once New Years passes, we can officially get back to normal life. That will be a good thing. I am so tired of the holiday season already. People just act too angry during the holidays now. It get really annoying. I remember the days when people used to be happy and sing carols and such, but not anymore. It has become so commercialized that everyone is just running in place to keep up. Enough ranting about that though. I have a lot of work to do and very little time to get it done.

Florida Gators Like Santa, Too

I just couldn’t resist posting this as it was too funny. I have a feeling all of the football fans that like the Florida Gators football team really like it too. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. I know that we are going to have an awesome holiday ourselves.

Movie tonight

I need a break. I am going to go see a movie with the girls tonight. We will probably go out to eat as well, but the plans are still semi up in the air. I hope we go to the Outback Steak house. I am so in the mood for a bloomin’ onion and some shrimp on the barby. I haven’t been there in so long and when I saw a commercial for it last night on TV, I have been craving it ever since. I plan on pigging out if we get to go eat. I wonder what movie we will see though? I am not even sure what is playing right now. I guess I will find out when we get there.

Busy at work

Gosh I have been so busy at work lately. It seems like we are just over loaded with a ton of paperwork that has to be done by the end of the year. I know that a lot of it has to do with making sure everything goes to the accounting department, but I cannot figure out how so much did not get turned in by people. Almost all of these accounts are from my co-workers. I have only had two that I didn’t get turned in and they are from last weeks work. Trying to keep up with everyone else’s work and mine is putting me behind and really irritating me.

My boss is aware of the situation and has already promised me a bonus for handling all of this on top of my own work. I am laughing a little bit though. The bonus is coming from my co-workers paychecks, since they are being docked for not doing their jobs. I should feel bad because it is happening right before the holiday’s but I don’t. It is their own fault for their laziness. Anyway, I have a ton of stuff to do so far well for now.

Almost over

Well this year is almost over and there is so much yet to do. I have a ton of Christmas presents to buy and a list as long as my arm. I know that I should have gotten some of it done sooner, if not all of it. I can’t help it, I always wait for the good sales to hit. They always run from Thanksgiving to Christmas and are a great money saver for me. Occasionally, I will shop right after Christmas and get those sales, but I usually use those things that I buy for birthday’s and such. Oh well, time to get cracking on that list. Later Gators!

Back to work

Well I am back to work and the kids are back in school after a well deserved holiday. We went to my sisters for dinner on Thanksgiving day and really enjoyed spending time with the family. Now I have to start really working on my Christmas shopping list. I don’t have much time left, plus this weekend we will put up the Christmas decorations and tree. I am going to be so busy over the next month, it is already making me tired just thinking about it. I love the holiday’s, but I can’t wait till they are over.

So much to do

There is always so much to do as the holidays begin to arrive. Starting with Halloween, there is decorations to go up and then back down. Toss some stuff out for Thanksgiving and bring it down as well. Then of course the major decorating for Christmas immediately following Thanksgiving. Lights to put up, picking the perfect tree and decorating it. This is a lot of work. In between each one, as you remove decoration, there is the cleaning process as well. By the time New Years gets here, I am usually exhausted. Then again, so is everyone else I know.

Housing

There are so many people having a hard time right now. The economy has made it difficult for many people to even afford to have a home. Low income housing can help families maintain their independence. I have a few family members who have recently needed to apply for this service. Losing your home can be devastating to everyone involved, especially for children. With low income housing, a family can feel safe and secure again.

No matter where you live, there is a program to help with housing. The minimum amount of income is generally around forty thousand a year, but can fluctuate depending on region. Low income housing can be found in every county, in every state.  Finding the information for it is not difficult at all. The Housing Authority is where you go to apply and they will give you all of the information that you can possibly need. The application process is relatively simple as well. I urge anyone who is in need of housing, to go see them for the assistance they need.
