At Wal-Mart there was a big bin of movies priced at $5 each, so I took a look. There were a bunch of titles of movies there were big hits in the 1980’s and 1990’s. I thought it might be good to pick up a few kids movies and a couple sci-fi movies to have onhand in case of a rainy weekend. for $5 each, it was easy to find several and not spend very cash.
So happy
I had the best night last night with my honey. We had the house to ourselves and romped around like kids. Of course we are still kids if you ask anyone over forty, but that is okay by me. I made an awesome dinner for us we watched a couple of hilarious movies. The popcorn fight was fun, but cleaning it up later took some ingenuity. Boy that stuff really gets all over the place. I even found some this morning in the planter across the room. Not sure how that happened. Oh well, life is grand so who cares.
Spring break
Well it’s spring break and I am going to spend some time with my niece and nephews. I try to take them every so often to give my sister a break and to spoil them rotten. I am going to take them to see a movie or two and keep them for the whole weekend. I might even take them bowling, because I know they just loved that last time we went. Of course we have to hit up Chucky Cheese as well. That is kind of standard issue with them. Time to get the house ready.
Bad day at work.
It was a stressful day at work. All I could think of was the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. I tried hard not to pull a “Towanda” after listening to total back stabbing woman at each others throats. It would have been nice though!
At the movies.
I’m not a movie critic, but recently I saw a movie that was made in 1995 called, “Two for the Money.” I had read the regular review then watched the movie trailer, and because of the actors who starred in the movie, I decided to watch it on my movie night.
Al Pacino, Renee Russo and Matthew McConaughey are the actors in the film. I like Al Pachino movies, even though they most are pretty much the same. You know…a guy who sort of apprentices or does the bad deeds for higher up guys or thugs, drug lords, and guys who are so called, beating the system and are a unsavory, then gets into the greed of money and living the high life, and that is his downfall. Renee Russo is one of my favorite actresses, and I’ll watch anything she stars in.
This movie is basically about sports betting. A sports hero knows the inside story of the game and then has an injury and can’t play, then turns a pro betting person until greed and “the good life” takes over, but then ends up in the gutter. To be honest, I thought the movie as a B grade, even though the acting was good. The story line just didn’t make a person want to keep watching, but I watched because I wanted to see if it would pick up. Perhaps the book is better? It’s actually based on a true story of collage football player who had an injury and yet had an incredible handicap. He became a consultant of the largest firm in the United States.
The Illusionist
Folks, though this is an older movie, (I didn’t know it was.) some of you may have seen it. If not, I highly recommend it. I’m a movie freak, of course. But I am totally critical, from the costuming down to little things that I catch out of sync. This movie, is a must see. I had to watch it twice, matter of fact.
The Illusionist
Fact of the matter is, for some reason my ability to post the video isn’t working. But click and see if this works for you!
