Slow computer

Looks like I might have to get a new laptop soon. I bought this one for a bargain price of $300 in a Christmas sale so I’ve gotten my money out of it. The one I have now is so slow that I’ve nearly given up on taking it anywhere when I have to write and I’m away from home. It’s senseless. I have to wait for quite a while for things to load.

I’m going to have it gone through first by a pro and see what they say, because it isn’t that old and it’s got plenty of space on it. Still…I’m not happy with it at all. More money going out no doubt. šŸ™

Savings with online shopping

I had been trying to find a online site that had inexpensive deals with quality items and of course always read the reviews about the company’s, so I started reading the Nomorerack reviews, on a site I had been recommended. Great reviews and awesome sales, deals and prices! I personally haven’t bought anything yet, but indeed know a few friends who are members and have. There are no complaints what so ever with the products they have gotten. The savings also are incredible as being a member saves quite a bit of money and there are advantages.

I like sites that have reviews from real people like my, who sometimes are very leery about shopping online. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve bought items and various gifts online before, and they were really good deals, good service and fast shipping. But these reviews are from blogs from people who have used the site, and have blogged about them. I often am worried about scams and I found from quite a few peoples writings and reviews that this isn’t a Nomorerack scam. This makes trusting and buying from this company easier.

I personally would totally trust becoming a member like a friend is, and shopping on this site.

Stunning wallpaper

I’m about ready to buy and put up the new wall paper I saw yesterday. It’s beautiful and would be perfect for my spare bedroom. I’ve been doing a lot of improvements lately because I’ve been kicking around the idea of selling the house and moving someplace warm.

When I was shopping at a warehouse in town for carpet actually. That and a new area rug. The place also has roll upon roll of wallpaper that is actually inexpensive but high quality. I found an awesome print. I wish I could have taken a photograph of it, but had forgotten to put my telephone on the charger. The way I figure it, home improvement will indeed up the value of the house, so that is going to beĀ  helpful if and when I decide to sell, so I can’t go wrong on spending the extra dollars on improvement.

By knowing how to do most of the remodeling and improvement, I am also saving lots of money by not hiring someone to do these projects. This is a definite plus.

Bell ringers already

This is getting a bit far fetched. I went shopping today and at every store entrance and exit there were the bell ringers for Good Will or Salvation Army dressed up like flipping Santa, or standing outside the store freezing their butts off. I hate not giving, but this is too much. I give some at CHRISTMAS. Yet it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet. I can’t afford to shell out money like that. And also I’ve noticed that these people get really pissed off if they don’t get a donation.

Copy machine toner

I have a copy machine in my office that in all honesty, I have no clue how to use it. It is an older Dell, and when I was told I needed more Dell 3115 cn toner, the look on my face must have shown that I didn’t know what the person who looked at my copier and told me what the problem was, meant by this. I had no idea what toner was, and now feel rather silly because of it, but much more informed, so this is a plus.

I was told that most people buy cheap machines because the toner is basically very expensive. Then when it runs out of toner, that they just replace the machine. But in doing that, they don’t know that the toner cartridge only is 1/3 full when the machine is bought. I did some research to find out exactly what toner was, and also didn’t know it was a powder. It’s pretty interesting, actually. But what I had been told about people just buying new cheap machines is also true in a majority of cases. To order the Dell 3115 cn toner, is a bit less expensive than most of the others though.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet. The copy machines are expensive, but so is the toner. On the other hand, buying another machine, means that I won’t get the amount of toner that would be in a full cartridge. I’m thinking just keep my Dell, buy the Dell 3115 cn toner, and perhaps save some money in the process.

Great bedding

I have an over sized bed for the guest room, so I let my fingers do the shopping on the internet for bedding sets. We don’t have any stores around here or at least close to my home, that carry the bigger bedding, and believe me that I was getting rather discouraged going from store to store to try and find what I was looking for in the stores we do have.

With a antique bed the size I have,Ā  it’s rather hard to find bigger bedding sets that are the look and style that I wanted. After about five hours of shopping, I decided to go online. I’ve sort of become a fan of online shopping lately. This site I found even was much less expensive than the bedding I had looked at in the stores I went to, and I was really thrilled to find what I was looking for to use on the bed in the guest room.

Once I hung the wall paper yesterday after having the new carpet installed, I did find the perfect bedding sets for not only the guest room, but also my own bed since I saved a lot of money. All I need to do now is paint the trim, put up the bed and arrange furniture. I’ll add the accents and I do believe I’m going to be happy with the results!

Wall paper decisions

We have this great place in town that sells wallpaper and carpet. I sort of went a bit overboard and spent more money than I maybe should have, but (shrug) I want this room to be comfortable and inviting. It’s not going to be girly, since I have lots of guy friends also, but it will be sort of a mix. At least that is my plan, so I bought wall paper that would be neutral. It’s still nice though and I’ll figure out the boarder once I go shopping for paint and bedding and such. I have a antique dresser and bed, plus some other things out of storage, so now I’m working with those also. I’m so happy when I do these kind of projects. šŸ™‚ Good thing is, I do believe even though I spent more money than planned, I still saved a lot due to the specials that the store had!

T-shirts for a cause

My niece is into donating blood for people who need it,Ā  and she called me and asked if I would please help to find her, or at least look into finding some custom t-shirts for not only donating blood, but also for various cancers and other causes she is involved with. I have to say, that where I live there is no place that I am able to grant her request, so I had to do some online searching.

Custom t-shirts for her causes are important to me. My niece is so dedicated that I really admire her and when she does her walks and supports what she believes in, I indeed want to help her. While looking online, I also found that I could have shirts made up that I would like to distribute and also tell people where they could get them, considering the fact that the nearest big city from where we live is an hour and a half away, that has any shops that we could get these shirts from.

Of course because I wanted to help my niece, I went online. The custom t-shirts I found, not only could be made to pertain to her causes that she is interested in helping, but also the wording can be basically anything that a person would wish to put on a shirt. I like this idea, since I can also buy shirts that can be worn with my niece’s and nephew’s sports and activities to show support to them, or for the fact that I am proud of what they are involved in. I can also have the shirts made up as special gifts, at a great price.

Health and dental plans

I’ve been kicking around finding a new health plan for a long time. I’m not satisfied with the one I had and have found myself paying a great deal of money for it than what it’s worth. Even the co pays are out of my price range, to be honest. Even the thought of filling out all the papers that need to be filled out, and the waiting period that it takes to get approved along with the hassle just turns me off totally.

I know I have to also find a dental plan, because no matter how afraid I am to go to the dentist, lets face it…for good health one has to have a healthy mouth and it starts with the dentist and regular visits. My aunt suggested shopping around and I must say the net is of course a good start to do this. There are so many types of plans out there that it’s rather tough to find one that lives up to what their ads are. I did find and research Ameriplan and it seems to have what I have been looking for.

Of course I have to do more research and make some decisions, but I do know that soon I’m going to need a good plan, at least one that is better and covers more than the plan I have now.

Advertisement necessity

I’ve been hearing a lot of information about how people with businesses no matter how big or small would do really well with an Advertising Agency and I’m beginning to really realize exactly how true that is. Lots of people who haveĀ  even small personalĀ  businesses are basically going under and not surviving because of not having the time or the know how to advertise properly for themselves and their business.

I have to admit that I indeed have heard so much about how businesses really need proper advertising in order to survive, especially with the economy the way it is right now. Personally, my girlfriend told me that the reason her jewelry business didn’t succeed because she didn’t have the know how to advertise her jewelry and beaded purses that she makes. They are really beautiful, but she just didn’t have the time to do the advertising herselfĀ  and like I said, the “know how” to really make her items sell. I’ve gotten quite a few earrings and other items from her, and not only are they beautiful, they are also durable and not cheap looking at all.

Now a days, there is so much that can be done with businesses that need and want to be recognized that the best way to go is to have professionals do this for you.
