You never know

You never know where life it going to take you. I have been all over this country. Lived everywhere it seems, but each place I have been I have met great people. I have also met some not so great people. I miss those whom I have had to leave behind, but I try to keep in touch as much as I can, by phone or online.

I was fortunate to be able to talk to my brother a couple of days ago. He has his own lawn care company. He has had it for a really long time and has built it from the ground up all on his own. He does a really good job with it and I am very proud of him. I am hoping that he will come visit me soon. At least he said he was going to scoop up dad and head up this was in a couple of months. I can’t wait to see him. So anyway, I will let you go. Have a great day.

Dinner

Last nights dinner was amazing. My sister in law made this glazed chicken tenders entree that was to die for. It was so simple too. All she did was take some Zesty Italian salad dressing mixed with some honey and pour it over the chicken tenders in the skillet. Then she simmered them until the chicken was cooked through and the sauce turned a pretty brown color. I will have to remember that recipe because we really loved it. I like to learn how to make new dishes because eating the same stuff all the time can get boring. I don’t like boring food.

On the river

I wan to go out on the river this weekend so bad. I am waiting for my brother in law to finish fixing his boat, then we are all going camping and boating on the river. We have so much fun when we do this. We always set up on this island in the middle of the river and camp the whole weekend long. At the end of the island is a sand bar that everyone gathers at in their boats. There is a volley ball net set up that stays there always and we call the sand bar Party Cove. I love it here. I would not want to live anywhere else.

Olympics

Well the Olympics are coming up soon. I love to watch the gymnastics and such, but the rest I have never really been interested in as far as summer Olympics go. Now the Winter Olympics I really like. I love the Ice Skating and Skiing the most. The bob sled isn’t bad either. I hope we win a lot of Gold this year. I know that the Swim team is looking good. Maybe I will watch them, we shall see.

DIY

I used the diy sweepstakes for a little bit of fun and trying to win some stuff for remodeling my house. You all know how much a love to remodel. I swear I just can’t keep my house in one design or motif. My mom says I have a remodeling OCD bug. She is probably right. I just laugh when she says that. The diy sweepstakes was fun to play. I like to play games online, but they are usually MMO’s and not other kinds.

I sent a link for diy sweepstakes to my mom to see if she likes it too. She hasn’t answered my email yet, but I know that she has been busy today with doctors appointments. I hope all of the doctors appointments go well for her. The older you get the more you seem to fall apart. I take good care of myself because of it.

Slow computer

Looks like I might have to get a new laptop soon. I bought this one for a bargain price of $300 in a Christmas sale so I’ve gotten my money out of it. The one I have now is so slow that I’ve nearly given up on taking it anywhere when I have to write and I’m away from home. It’s senseless. I have to wait for quite a while for things to load.

I’m going to have it gone through first by a pro and see what they say, because it isn’t that old and it’s got plenty of space on it. Still…I’m not happy with it at all. More money going out no doubt. 🙁

Getting Crazy Around Here

Things have been getting a little crazy but at least my life is not boring. I’m not a drama queen at all, but i have a large circle of friends and family who keep me on my toes. This week has been a challenging one – but it’s never boring.

Celtic style jewelry

I have always loved Celtic jewelry. I love anything Celtic, actually. I think I was born a Celt in a previous life. Yes, I believe in reincarnation and subjects such as this. To me it’s very real and also many times proven. I am a big collector of anything that deals with the original Celtic era and also artifacts of such.

A friend of mine gave me a beautiful ring last year and I wanted to add to my collection of celtic jewelry. She suggested I go online and look for places that would deal with lines of what I was looking for. I hit the jackpot just by typing in certain words.

The Celtic jewelry site I found is awesome. They carry everything! Wedding rings, broaches, necklaces, bracelets and Claddagh rings,  (something I have been looking for) that is of very high quality. These are just a few of the items they have that one can buy. It’s the perfect site to find exactly what you are looking for if you are into the Celtic ways. I even found a perfect 17th Century Claddagh ring that I have wanted for sometime and it looks totally original. I’m going to treat myself to it. Heck, why not? My birthday is coming up soon and it will be my birthday present to myself. I’d be so proud to wear it also!

Started a new book

This week, I’m reading a new book I got at a used book store, so I guess it’s one of those “new to me” books, actually. It’s titled Sizzle and Burn, and the author is Jayne Ann Krentz. It’s great to pick up something at the used book store for only 50 cents and have something new to read. Even if I don’t like the book I don’t have all that much money invested in it and I can trade it back in for another one.

From the jacket cover and the information about the author, apparently she writes under other names also. Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle. She has written more than 50 New York Times bestsellers, everything from contemporary romantic suspense novels to futuristic and historical romance novels.

I’m not much into romance novels, but so far even though I’m only on page 106, this book is indeed a page turner. I’ll save the recommendation if I have one, until I finish, but for now…this seems to be well written and also very interesting.

Wet coffee grounds

First thing in the morning is coffee. I’m totally dependent on coffee to wake up and get myself in gear.

This morning I woke up early as usual, but wasn’t quite “with it” when I went into the kitchen to make my morning cup of coffee. I had forgotten to empty the coffee filter since I was in a hurry yesterday, and when I grabbed the basket out of the coffee maker, coffee grounds flew all over my kitchen. What a mess. If anyone has ever tried to clean up wet coffee grounds, they will tell you that it’s super hard to do. I should have just let them dry and swept them up.

Never again will I ever forget to empty the coffee filter basket before going to bed for the night.
