We had enough snow that I could roll up a few big snowballs and make this snow woman. I couldn’t figure out what to use for arms, so I decided to grab some things from the kitchen. She’s my Aunt Jemima snow woman.
Merry Christmas!
We have a white Christmas! Everything is covered with perhaps an inch of beautiful snow. How exciting!
My dogs think it is very strange and since they do not like wet feet, they don’t want to be out in the snow much at all. I can’t say that I blame them about being outside, cold and wet. I think we will enjoy the snow from our living room windows and have a nice Christmas day at home relaxing.
Merry Christmas!
A White Christmas!
The weather forecast for this weekend is for snow on both Saturday and Sunday, possibly starting as early as Friday night! That means a white Christmas for Tennessee! The news channel that I watch says that we have only enjoyed a measurable snow on Christmas 9 times in over 100 years of record keeping. I had not realized that until now. So this year will be very special!
Full Moon Monday
Did you see the moon at sunset today? Wow! It was a big orange harvest moon. Made the whole evening seem magical. Wish I had a good enough camera to take a picture of it.
Hello October
Last month just flew by! September is always busy for my family. Lots of birthdays, a kickoff long weekend, and school is back in session. So the days get shorter and cooler, and next thing you know it is October!
Looking forward to pretty fall leaves and maybe a trip up to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg this year. Just to get away for a couple of days and appreciate Mother Nature again.
State Fair Final Day
The State Fair was running all week but it has rained every single day. It has killed the fair attendance is everyone is mad that the fair is not making any money.
I’ve been to the Tennessee State Fair three times and each time it was a disappointment. Everything costs way too much money and it’s smaller than the county fairs that we had last month.
People are saying that today will be the last day of the State Fair being held in Nashville. I suppose they should start finding a new home for it – like Murfreesboro or Dickson. And they should make accomodations for most of it being under cover so that a week of rain doesn’t ruin everything.
I’m more interested in going to the county fairs anyway – they are so much bigger and a better value for my entertainment dollars.
Do the Dew
I’ve been turning to Moountain Dew an awful lot lately. I don’t really like sodas, especially any of the dark sodas like Coke and Pepsi. I guess I just lost my taste for them. But Mountain Dew seems to kill the thirst and it’s been so hot this week (every day in the 90’s and up!) that I have felt dehydrated every day. A girl can only drink so much water. So I’ve tried all the different flavors of Mountain Dew. I think I like the Voltage flavor best.
