Finally Sunshine!

It looks like it’s going to be a nice day today, finally. The sun is shining and birds are chirping. I might be able to get out and do some yard work I’ve been itching to do, get some fresh air, and some sun. I hope it lasts.

Last years Zinnias.

Therapy

I went to my therapist today. She said I was stressed out. Umm… DUH?? Lately I’ve had a lot on my mind. It didn’t really take a therapist to tell me this, but I thought I would get some words of wisdom or at least something that was constructive, instead of the words, “Alexa, you are stressed out.” And here I am, paying all this money to hear something I already know. What the heck am I doing spending an hour of my time, trying to work things out and yet, not a think is happening. I’ll go hug a tree or something, and no doubt feel better. AND, not even have to pay for it. That is, if I was a total tree hugging type of person. If its nice out tomorrow, I’m going to give it a try.

Enough already!

I realize that April showers bring May posies and all that, but we have had heavy rain, and storms for days on end, and from the looks of the weather channel for my area, were to have some pretty heavy thunderstorms for the next four or five days, unless…which I doubt, Mother Nature decides to give us a break. I’ve “talked” to my blogging buddies and they are saying their weather is the same where they are also. It would be nice to see sunshine for once.

On a Rant

I can not believe that a week ago, I was basking in the sunshine, even caught a tan and now it’s snowing. What is up with that? Of course, I can go on and on about how shooting big objects up into the atmosphere to see what they can see and also bombing the moon, not once, but two times may have something to do with it, as far as I’m concerned, but I’ll try not to depress myself even more by dwelling on it. I’m a sun baby, pure and simple. I hate the cold as much as I hate going to the dentist, which says a great deal right there. Okay, so my rant wasn’t really a full fledged rant, but a few more days of this will send me into one for sure!!

Garden Idea

Oh the wonders of the internet. I had heard from a friend about straw bale gardening. She told me that she’d never tried it and really didn’t have the time to start a new project. Me? I say… Bring ‘er on!! I think that I have read darn near everything I can find on this subject and I’m ready to go for it! Just because. Give me a way to garden and I’m right on it! Since I have a guy friend who owns a farm and I work out there now and then like barter system type work, I have access to the bales of straw and extra twine…name it! I’m really looking forward to it. I have ten bales of straw out in the back yard now, and itching for warm enough weather so I can go out and play.

Ahhh Sunshine!

It’s been a totally glorious day today. I even caught a bit of a suntan!! Got a full dose of Vitamin D and Melatonin, plus felt great!! I putzed in the yard and sat in the sun making plans for which flowers and such, I wanted to plant where. Tomorrow it will no doubt so something funny and get cold and snow again, but at least for today, I was in 7th Heaven!! Sunshine is great for the health and soul!

My Snow Woman

We had enough snow that I could roll up a few big snowballs and make this snow woman. I couldn’t figure out what to use for arms, so I decided to grab some things from the kitchen. She’s my Aunt Jemima snow woman.

A White Christmas!

The weather forecast for this weekend is for snow on both Saturday and Sunday, possibly starting as early as Friday night! That means a white Christmas for Tennessee! The news channel that I watch says that we have only enjoyed a measurable snow on Christmas 9 times in over 100 years of record keeping. I had not realized that until now. So this year will be very special!

Watching the Snow

We had snow showers today. I’m not sure how you define “snow showers” versus “it snowed.” There was nothing on the ground or the roads – it just blew around and fell as big wet flakes for hours and hours. I liked it, especially since I did not have to go anywhere all day and was not worried about bad roads.

Tar on the Beaches

The oil spill keeps dragging on with no fix in sight. This is baffling to me. Why are these people so cavalier about the amount of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico? I believe they are trying to find a way to collect the oil and still sell what they can get from this oil well instead of trying to find a way to stop the oil from polluting the water, shoreline, beaches and wetlands.
