We had a wonderful day yesterday after school. I took the kids and the dog to the park and we romped and played for two hours. Afterwards, I bought a couple of pizzas to take home and we pigged out on the back porch. The kids were worn out and fell into bed with absolutely no complaints. I am so happy that we did this. WINTER IS OVER Yaaaay !
The garage
We decided to buy some acoustic foam for the garage walls, since that is where my son practices the most. Now that he is forming a band and they will be here most of the time as we have the only garage that is available for them. The foam should muffle the loudest of the sounds and keep things down to a dull roar. I know that the neighbors will appreciate this greatly.
Library
I came to the library to get some work done in peace and quiet and there is no quiet to be had. Usually this place is very quiet as you would expect most library’s to be. Apparently not today.
They are doing some kind of rearranging and the noise is almost as bad as it is at home. I am sure this was an excercise in futility, but I will persevere. Now to get to work.
I love Elves
I don’t mean Santas elves either. I mean the LOTR kind of elves. The cities portrayed in those kinds of book and paintings are beautiful. This is one of my favorites. I look online for them from time to time, just for the serenity they bring. I hope you guys like this one.

A little depressed
I don’t know what is wrong with my today. I just can’t seem to get out of this funk. Life has been a bit difficult lately, but I am usually not one to become morose over it. I think it is time to snap myself out of this and need a distraction to do it. I think I will take the kids to a movie this afternoon. Actually it will be early evening, but we can go for pizza and a movie. That will make them very happy. I hope they don’t have a lot of homework to do. We shall see.
Shopping
Well Easter is well on it’s way and the time has come to stock up on the supplies I will need for Easter Sunday. I have to make baskets, and dye eggs with the kids as well as prep every thing for Easter dinner. I have so much to do and want to get a head start in it so I don’t have to run crazy later. Sometimes that happens and then I am stuck running around like achicken with it’s head cut off. (eww) Bad analogy, but you certainly understand my reasoning. Why are some of the oldest analogies so gross? Oh well, gotta go. Talk to you guys later.

Road trip
I am going on a road trip to Memphis with my mom to see Graceland. I have always loved Elvis since I was a little kid growing up. I listened to his music, (mostly Christmas Carols) with my mom because he was her favorite when she was growing up. She told me all the stories about him and we watched all of his movies. It is something that we could enjoy together as mother/daughters should.
I have my own rituals with my daughter that we do. We watch the Grease, Dirty Dancing and other movies of the like, that I grew up with. One day we will have a road trip to see something neat like this. My daughter is going with us on this trip as well, but the boys will stay with dad for the weekend. They get to have some grandpa time and go fishing. All in all, it should be great for the whole family.
Got my tickets
The concert isn’t until March, but I bought my tickets today for the Charlile Daniels concert at the Gran Ole Opry. I am so excited. I know that he is and older performer from my childhood, but I have always wanted to see him in concert. I am finally goung to make that dream come true.
The most awesome website ever
I love this site. This woman is amazing in the house and home genre of blogging. She has built an entire business around it, complete with a show on the Food Network now. She is the Pioneer Woman. Her name is Ree and I just love going to her page for new recipes and ideas. I have thought from time to time about home schooling when I have kids one day, but I am not sure that I have the temperament for that. I keep up with her blog on homeschooling though because I have learned from my sister about how horrible the schools have gotten around here. It is a thought I will not throw out for the moment though. Anyway, I thought I would share with you all and I hope you like this page as much as I do.
