Last night I saw the show Roseanne Barr Nut Farm. I have to admit that I have ALWAYS liked Roseanne, despite of all the bad publicity and her her sometimes…okay, most of the time, crude behavior, and loud mouth. I don’t normally have any inclination to ever want to meet celebrities, but if I could, she would be one of the ones I’d love to kick back with and talk to. I enjoyed the show and also seeing her back on television, sans the make up and the scripts. It’s good to see her back.
Spending time at the lake
I decided to take off last night and grabbed the dog, his toys and my bags and went to the lake. I have always loved the cabin up here and I think needed the quite and peace for a few days. It might just be a short little get away, but for now it’s just what was needed! Course the place is now smelling like wet dog and lake water, but we can deal with it!
Herbal wellness
Recently a friend of mine became an Herbalife Distributor and totally is into it. I don’t blame her. I have looked over all the brochures and the info and I would be too. It’s pricey, but from what I hear from everyone else, it’s no more pricey that the regular health items on the market today. The nutrition systems they have and the folks who are trained to work with you and your needs are fantastic. A lot has improved since I used to use the systems years ago.
Since I hardly get a chance to see my friend due to the distance we have to travel, I checked out locations of other Herbalife Distributors, and there are so many in various states and even countries, that it amazed me.
While browsing, I looked to see if there was a distributor in my immediate area, and sure enough by doing a search, found Herbalife in Ohio. You can bet I’m going to be talking to more people and finding out more info on the products now that the company has grown so much since last I had been using the items. It’s a great way to stay healthy, loose weight naturally and start feeling really quite good!
Dreading grocery shopping
I have been procrastinating going to the market and grocery store and running the errands I have to do. Grocery shopping, even for one person scares the hell out of me anymore. I have noticed, as everyone undoubtedly has, that grocery prices are soaring and there doesn’t seem any respite in sight. I so feel for people who have to feed families of two or more. It’s nearly impossible to eat healthy with the prices as they are. What kicks butt is “Lady Michelle” (and I use that term loosely anymore) raves about eating healthy and our kids having healthy meals such as hers do. I’m sure those two girls indeed have healthy meals. Umm.. DA…they are the President’s children and have free access to all these healthy tidbits of nutrition. Normally I don’t speak like this about politics the President, no matter who he is, or in a negative nature about issues concerning our “Leader”. I have had enough though. I could go on and on and fill pages now about issues I’ve kept my mouth shut about. But for now…I have to write a grocery list that will not drain my bank account. I seriously doubt if I’ll be eating as healthy as I used to be able to though.
Shades of Oz?
We finally got the rain everyone has literally been praying for in these parts. Early this morning we had some hellacious winds, thunder and lightening. I was having my morning tea in my office and looked out the window in time to see the neighbor’s storm door fly off it’s hinges and go hurling across the yard. I must admit that the scene from Wizard of Oz flashed through my head…the one where the screen door went flying when Dorthy tried to open it. While looking outside, I did however notice it suddenly got very quiet, and everything looked sort of green. Like a green haze was in the air. Even as a kid living why out in BFE country, we were taught when we see that green haze, to take cover. Fortunately, things settled down and then it cooled off considerably. This is not to say that we are still having some major storms heading this way again later on. I’ve decided not to worry about it though. I figure the Big Guy is ticked off and disappointed with the whole world and he and Mother Nature, are in cahoots as far as the weather goes. My motto… Be prepared for anything now a days, where the weather is concerned.
Finding Alexa!
I’m contemplating looking at new custom address plaques. I’ve looked at a large variety and never knew there were so many to choose from though. Here is the kicker…I have a perfectly good mail box, with my name on it, and also the house number that the County gave out to residents. They are the kind that are mounted on the mail box post and have numbers that sort of reflect and glow in the dark. I personally think they look rather tacky, and people still drive right by the house, but hey, they were free.
I still haven’t made up my mind what kind of plaque I want, as there are so many residential address plaques to choose from. I have a hard time making up my mind what kind of pants I want to wear on any given day, so choosing something like this takes a lot of thought.
I did find some really cool Whitehall address plaques that I love. They have just the right amount of class without being over the wall with it, and they also compliment my house and gardens also. I’ll be pouring over plaques until I find just the right one though, I imagine. Until I do find one that I can’t live without, I’m having fun looking at them all!
Summer cold and ickys
I fought hard but have come down with the one and only (I hope) summer cold I generally get. I’m saying I hope, because so many of my friends have been complaining that they get a cold, get over it, only to catch another virus again. Right now, all I want to do is wrap up in my blankie, but unfortunately it is about 98 degrees outside and feels like it is at least that temp inside also. A great rain storm would be very welcome right now. 🙁

Old dog new tricks?
My little brother is still trying to teach me about web hosting. I sometimes am a really slow learner when it comes to the tech stuff pertaining to the computer. Hence, I have been reading up on and studying everything he has been kind enough to keep repeating to me, writing notes for me and also giving me all sorts of little tips and what not, for basic advertising for my small business that if I ever learn, will indeed boost my income considerably.
Recently I’ve been checking out and learning about web hosting ratings. Apparently from what I have gleaned from this issue, is that it is a pretty important part of this whole process. To be honest, it is really helpful and is written in a way that I, even not being a computer geek, can understand.
While looking at various options, prices and tech support, I being the person I am…clicked on Fat Cow Green Hosting. Reasons? Well, in all honesty I liked the silly name. Then I got to reading about the ratings, the fact that there was unlimited disk space and traffic, lots of free stuff, like domain and set up and also it was inexpensive…right in my budget range! With the help of my little bro, I should be able to figure all this out. Time will tell. As I have said in previous posts, I’m learning. Slowly but surely and finding all of this quite interesting, if truth be known!
The Casey Anthony case
I have been following the “fall out” on this case and the only thing I can say now, is that it seems that something is terribly wrong with the justice system. Granted a person has to be proven guilty within a shadow of a doubt, but in my personal opinion, there is just something, some sort of minor or even major evidence missing in this case, to have this woman get off on the charge of murder. Once again in my opinion, it all will come down to Karma. What goes around comes around…three fold. People don’t take kindly to child murderers, abusers or people like this woman who actually, despite of the other charges against her, will keep her in jail for awhile. From sources who know, she may not last long on the streets or in jail. One can only help feel, that on down the line, true justice will prevail. Enough said.
