I’ve been having lots of conversations with my favorite aunt, and she is having some health problems, so she wanted to discuss funeral planning. A lot of people may think this is kind of morbid, but it is a subject to address and get out of the way. I didn’t know it, but Auntie had been looking into resources for seniors because she is of course at that age. I’ve got to remember this as she seems so ageless to me. I think what got to me was that she fainted in church last Sunday and was rushed to the hospital. After staying there for a quite a long time waiting for test results and a doctor to come in and tell her what was going on, she got impatient and threw a fit. I don’t blame her. She wanted answers and since it was on the weekend, they were taking their sweet time getting any information to her or my mom who was with her. They sent her home with no real info and told her to see her family MD, as her blood pressure was low and so was her potassium.
While we were talking on the phone, Auntie told me about already getting a Burial Insurance quote. That, I pretty much expected she had done a long time ago, as she is pretty much the type of person who is up on these type things and gets it all done in advance. I must admit though, it got me thinking in the long term sort of way for myself.
Burial Insurance for seniors is a must, I believe. I mean, I wouldn’t want anyone in debt over me kicking off. The Big Guy willing, I plan on hopefully living for a good long time, but still…one never knows and once I hit that senior age, I want to be prepared, so I did indeed listen to all of the info my aunt gave me.
