Interesting Winter Tips

Here are some helpful hints that could make your winters easier to deal with …Here is to a safe and blessed NEW YEAR!!!

– Keep your headlights clear with car wax! Just wipe ordinary car wax on your headlights. It contains special water repellents that will prevent that messy mixture from accumulating on your lights – lasts 6 weeks.

 – Squeak-proof your wipers with rubbing alcohol! Wipe the wipers with a cloth saturated with rubbing alcohol or ammonia. This one trick can make badly streaking & squeaking wipers change to near perfect silence & clarity.

– Ice-proof your windows with vinegar! Frost on it’s way? Just fill a spray bottle with three parts vinegar to one part water & spritz it on all your windows at night. In the morning, they’ll be clear of icy mess. Vinegar contains acetic acid, which raises the melting point of water—preventing water from freezing!

– Prevent car doors from freezing shut with cooking spray! Spritz cooking oil on the rubber seals around car doors & rub it in with a paper towel. The cooking spray prevents water from melting into the rubber.

 – Fog-proof your windshield with shaving cream! Spray some shaving cream on the inside of your windshield & wipe if off with paper towels. Shaving cream has many of the same ingredients found in commercial defoggers.

 – De-ice your lock in seconds with hand sanitizer! Just put some hand sanitizer gel on the key & the lock & the problems solved!

Tool Time For Christmas

Well I’m all ready and good to go for Christmas. Got all of my last minute shopping done. I’m so glad that I did most of my holiday shopping online this year. We got some crazy weather last weekend that would have had me up in arms if I hadn’t been a smart shopper this year.

Most of my gifts this year were to men, how odd is that? I picked up some great Tools and Hardware for my father for his Workshop and Home Improvement plans that he has in mind for this up and coming year. My step father wanted one of the new Circular Saws that have just come out recently, which I found online way back in the spring. He loves his Power Drills and Hand Tools!

My brothers also wanted Workshop Accessories, so I bought them both new Miter Saws that I hope that they will be happy with. My mother was the only female in the whole deal and was the hardest to figure out. Luckily we were at the mall together a few months back and she showed me a nice pair of boots that I managed to go back and pick up for her, so with that said and done and Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope it is a good and safe one for all.

Don’t Pay Full Price

I try and make a habit out of not paying full price for anything. And I have been doing more and more purchasing products online. I can tell you that you will not be seeing me at the mall or Walmart for any of my holiday shopping this season. Online is the way to go these days. With all the free shipping offers, instant cash back, coupon and promotion codes that are available to the growing population of online shoppers, like myself, it only makes sense. Nothing like getting in a bad mood while tending to all of the shopping that is needed for all the holiday preparations. It can take all the Christmas cheer right out of a body in no time.

I’ve found myself running low on the ink cartridges for my printer and of course I immediately went online and found some decent OfficeDepot.com coupon codes that I’m going to take advantage of this pay day. I found these coupon codes at bestonlinecoupons.com, they have over 1,500 online merchants that are always offering promotions for online shopping. I use promos from Target, Best Buy, Old Navy, LL Bean and Overstock.com quite a bit and I’m sure I’ll be checking them even more as the holidays approach.

Technology and Christmas Shopping!

Being in the customer service field can be a challenge, as so many of us know that deal with the public day in and day out. Since I have to provide excellent customer service, I expect to get the best in return and can be an aggressive consumer if needed. I don’t hesitate to call a manager and complain, but on the other side of the coin, I’ll be the first to turn to a supervisor and give an “atta boy” to some one that goes the extra mile and makes me a happy customer.

With technology so heavily emerged into our daily lives, it can make a customer service rep’s tough job even tougher when you can’t get a piece of equipment to work. At the mall the other day I witnessed a sales rep(in training) in one of the kiosks that was having issues learning all the equipment that she needed to use in order to check out her customer. The customer was getting uptight and the new kid was getting flustered big time. I felt so sorry for him, been there done that before!

I noticed that he was trying to use the same Motorola-Symbol MC 5574 handheld mobile computer that I use at work. Too bad that his manager didn’t see fit to help him out of the jam that he was finding himself him. Computers are wonderful if you know how to use them. The holiday season in right around the corner. There will be a lot of new sales assistants working the Christmas holiday shopping season. We all need to be patient and keep the faith, ’tis the season to be jolly!

Today’s Military

My friend who has a son in the military once in a while sends me photos of our troops over in the Middle East. It’s good to know that they can keep a sense of humor while living in hellish conditions.

It’s All Good!

I’m having a blast helping a gal that I work with, plan her very large and formal wedding. One day, I hope, I’ll be planning my dream wedding, so this is good practice. She is such a nice gal, I’ve enjoyed working with her for several years now and we have gotten pretty darn close and I’m proud that she is allowing me to get so involved with the whole wedding process. What a hand full this has turned out to be though, I had no idea all that it entails to pull something like this off.

Right now we are looking at wedding invitations. Thank God for the Internet, I can’t imagine taking on something like this with out all that the Internet has to offer. At 123print.com they have a really great selection of invitations that we have been eyeballing and showing around the work place to get ideas and suggestions from. It really has brought a breath of fresh air around the place and the excitement is becoming contagious between us all.

We still have a lot of work to do, but things are being checked off of the list here and there, so it’s all good!

Jay Leno at 10:00pm

I think that Jay Leno’s new 10:00 time slot is a hit. It is so good to see him back on the air and at an earlier time to boot. I was so bummed out when Conan O’Brien took over the Tonight Show, it just isn’t the same without Jay. We really needed a bit of comedy at 10:00pm and Jay was the perfect choice as far as I’m concerned!

A New Harley D

My best friend just called me and told me that she just came back from her local Harley Davidson store with a brand new Super Glide! That really caught me by surprise, but I couldn’t be happier for her. Once she gets a few hundred miles under her you’ll be seeing me on the back, just a grinning.

Change Can Be Good

Seems that my aunt has changed her mind on where she wants to settle, instead of Lexington S.C. she is now considering the Greenville area of S.C. instead. She has found a website that allows you to view 19 channels of high definition, full screen videos that bring into the focus of what the community of Greenville has to offer. It’s appears that it is a vibrant community that has a lot to offer some one just like my aunt.

A man, Edwin McCain, who grew up, moved away and then returned to Greenville appears on one of the videos that I watched. He has made it his mission to promote his hometown, which I think is pretty darn cool. He is an alternative rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist who performs all across the U.S. of A. but still performs in Greenville and just released his first major label recording. You can actually see him perform on the video.

I’m sure my aunt will find the perfect place for her to settle into and enjoy her “golden years.” Any place would welcome this lady into their community. She is a first class lady, with a great sense of humor for an old broad!

Thank God for The Internet!

I have to admit that I really don’t know all that much about life insurance. My folks have been urging me to check into starting my own policy. They have one on me for $2,000 that they started when I was born. The policy was actually a gift that was presented to my parents from an aunt. A nice present, but unfortunately $2,000 isn’t all that much anymore, most likely not even enough to bury me with.

So I’ve taken upon myself to educate myself on the whole subject, thank God for the Internet. I need to learn what the best options are for me on a decent term life insurance policy. It shouldn’t take too long and I’m a pretty quick learner.
