Aspiring Musicians

A very good friend of mine I grew up with, is an aspiring musician, and is brilliant when it comes to tweaking his voice to sound like absolute heaven. When I moved to this town when I about twelve years old, he was the first friend I made that lived right next door. Ever since we have been inseparable.

I even remember the first day we moved into our new home, I turned on the music in the garage and started doing cart wheels in the backyard, while he was jumping up and down on his trampoline in his backyard with a friend. Both of them were about 10 years old and had toy microphones in their hands, something I found later to be his sisters toy microphones. They were both singing and raping while jumping on that trampoline, it was too funny.

We noticed we all loved music, and we all started hanging out and playing together. I have watched him grow from that young boy into the talented man he is today. The last time I saw him was two months ago, before he moved about forty miles away to live with his girlfriend, whom is also a good friend of mine since forever ago. Before he left he invited me to a show his was performing at, and I was ecstatic to see him perform finally after all these years.

He expressed an interest in finding a microphone he could find for an affordable price, so he could practice at home before his show date. I remembered the night before coming across a site that offered just that, so I told him that there were microphones for sale as well as some sweet looking new and used mitchell guitars at M F’s, and to check their site out.

He called me a few days later and told me that not only did her order a microphone but he also ordered lehle amp that he found that he is absolutely thrilled to have now. I’m happy I could help him prepare for such a great event I can see him perform at, and see how he can change the world with his beautiful voice.

Green Issues

I figure that we need to go as “green” as we all can possibly become these days. I’ve been told that there are website hosting companies that are doing what they can in order to become environmentally friendly, which I think is pretty darn cool. I’ve always been a recycling freak. I grew up with parents from the “hippie” generation and recycling has always been something that just came naturally due to their generation and their lifestyles.

There is so much more to being “green” than recycling, but it is something that we all can do and should be doing as much as possible. Where I live our taxes pay for our trash removal and recycling pick-ups. They provide us with the bins, one for plastic and glass, the other one for paper.

Each week all we need to do is place the containers on the curbside and the truck comes and picks them up and hauls them away. The only way that they can make it any easier would be to provide a person to stand in the corner of the kitchen or garage and separate and dispose of the items, and that just isn’t realistic now is it.

So I don’t understand why there aren’t more blue bins on the curb on recycling day. It really irks me to know that people are just to darn lazy to make such a small effort that would make such a difference to us all in the end.

Sweets as a Substitute for Nicotine

I would really like to quit smoking. A friend of mine suggested eating Jelly Beans when I finally make the decision to put them down once and for all. After all President Ronald Reagan used them successfully when he quit smoking back in the 1960’s and made the Jelly Bean industry a pretty penny with a major come back due to the publicity of it all.

Jelly Beans, from that time on on were not just for Easter any more. Starburst Jelly Beans are and have always been my favorite and if I could find an online Wholesale Candy company that I could buy some in bulk, in anticipation of the “quitting date” I would be willing to place an order for a decent price. Something to put on my ever growing, never ending, to do list.

If I find myself having a craving for chocolate I can always count on a Clark Bar satisfying the immediate desires. Clark Bars haven’t changed a bit all these years, along with the Snickers Bar they both have always been on top of my list. Some things thankfully never change.

I’ve been smoking for over 20 years, I’m sure that if I quit I’d feel much better all the way around, mentally and health wise as well. I know I’d save a good amount of money that could be put to much better use.

Famous Birthday Quotes

I was looking around online for a free leap year birthday card to send to a friend who is celebrating his birthday this year on February 29th since there is actually a February 29th this year.

I couldn’t find any birthday leap year cards at the few stores that I’ve frequented in the past couple of weeks and now that the big day is here I’m reduced to send an ecard. There is nothing wrong with an ecard, but there is nothing like the real thing for some folks. I used to be able to find all kinds of good quality free ecards, years ago, but then so many places started charging and I’m not into that scene. So the free ones that are left aren’t all that good, funny, cute, etc….

Hallmark.com used to be my favorite, they used to have the best free ones. But I don’t even go there anymore, why walk into what you know will be a disappointment. Anyway while searching today I found these cool Famous Birthday Quotes and though I’d share it here.

Tattoos

More and more as I go throughout my daily chores and errands, I see a lot more people with tattoos! Honestly, I don’t understand the popularity of them at all. Most of the people that I know that have had tattoos for a long time tell me that they wish that they had never gotten them. The tattoos have faded, or run, and don’t look good anymore. And a lot of times people have been discriminated against because of the tattoos that they have gotten.

Although I have seen a lot of really pretty, nice looking tattoos, I think that it is a mistake to get them, it costs a lot to have them removed and that procedure hurts a lot more than getting the tattoo in the first place.

Monitors A Plenty

Big Brother has become a major reality these days. I heard somewhere that the average person is video taped between 8 to 12 times each day. What’s really weird is that in Britain the norm is 300 times a day, now isn’t that just crazy?  Makes me wonder why and how there is just a drastic change in the numbers between the two countries. That would be an interesting subject to research and do a paper on for school. But since I don’t attend school and don’t have any reason to believe that I’ll be attending any type of school it looks like I’ll just have to look around a bit online to do some research for my own curiosity.

I do know that I see more and more video cameras every where I look. Some places even have multiple monitor stands that are full of all of the monitors necessary to keep an eye on everyone, like at the mall or big office buildings. You know the type that they hire someone to sit there and keep a look out for shop lifters, out of control teenagers and now we have to worry about people going wacky and shooting up the place and as many people as they can before either turning the gun on themselves or trying to run and hide. I really think that if more people carried weapons/guns that there wouldn’t be so many of these random shootings. It isn’t that there is too many guns on the streets, it’s that there aren’t enough so that people can protect themselves when stuff like this happens.

Merry Christmas or Season’s Greetings!

To All My Democrat Friends………

Please accept, with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2016, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes.

To My Republican Friends:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Make An Impression With Vistaprint

Who isn’t familiar, by now, with Vistaprint and their very affordable business cards that so many of us have ordered and are using right this minute, some where, by somebody out there. I mean think about it –  having a business card is a very big deal and business is booming for Vistaprint who is well established and well known from all the attention that it has received via the Internet and the TV.

What gets me is that I had no idea that they had other products and items for sale, which I found online at Vistaprint dot com only because I was looking at BestOnlineCoupons dot com, which is a site that I always look at before buying anything online. The have the best coupons and coupon codes, promotions, free shipping offers, all kinds of special offers for online shoppers like myself. So I’ve made it a habit to look there first and I can tell you that I have saving a good chunk of change by getting into that routine.

This time around I found Vistaprint coupons and tons of other listings for savings for Vistaprint orders, like a Vistaprint free shipping code along with some Vistaprint coupon codes that can add up to real savings. Codes are becoming the way to go online these days. It drives me crazy when I order something that I found on the Internet and when I’m filling out my name, address, etc it asks if I have any coupon codes and I find myself lacking one I just don’t feel right and take a peek at BestOnlineCoupons dot com and see if I can find one, most of the time I can, considering the sheer amount of online merchants that they have listed there to be taken advantage of.

Red Skelton

Red Skelton–Patriot and Prophet

Red Skelton was one of the greatest comedians of his time. I used to watch his television show as a kid. He was a great entertainer, but was much more a Christian and a gentleman.

Watch this clip from one of his TV shows from 1969.  He always closed his show with something of inspiration. He was a great role model.

Hope you enjoy this, because he was a “prophet before his time”! This is one of the most touching and patriotic items I have seen in a long time. This one will touch your heart! Enjoy and remember. Help spread this important message:

Red Skelton–from his television show in 1969 WOW! Just think, he said this on his television show in 1969 and really had no clue it would ever come about. SAD, isn’t it? What a wonderful and worthwhile clip to watch and share with all your friends and acquaintances!

Web Hostings

I was doing some looking around online this afternoon at work. Most of us had a few minutes to spare before heading out into the rush hour traffic so it’s time like this that we take advantage of having Internet access at our desks. The topic of conversation lately has been web hosting. I had no idea that there were so many web hosting companies offering so many varieties of options. One of the girls at work discovered that there are several webhosting sites that are going green, which we all thought was pretty cool, so we checked them out real quick like.

There is a great web site that has ratings and reviews of various webhostings at webhostingrating dot com. It really has a lot of good information that we have all enjoyed and learned from. When we get our teeth into something we really chew on it for a good long while until we spit it out to be done with it and we have just about worn this subject out at this point. But I am going to look at a few more options and I want to read some more of the reviews and then we can move on to another subject for next week. Lord knows what that will be!
