Cheap Eyeglasses Are A Reality

I learned so much about eyeglasses when I worked for the Christmas shopping season at the mall years ago at a small kiosk that sold sunglasses. I never imagined how many varieties, styles, brands, sizes, price ranges, and all of the options that are out there these days for eye wear. I enjoyed working there and the experience has made me more aware of the importance of sunglasses. But I have to say that I was surprised to see how much money some of these sunglasses cost and how many people were willing to shell out some big bucks for some of the famous designer sunglasses. They just felt the need to over pay for these items, paying for the brand name is what they were doing.

Anyway I came out of the deal with enough money to have a good Christmas as well as several pairs of sunglasses that I got while they were on sale and while using my employee discount as well. We all know how easy it is to lose or break your glasses and I’m no different from anyone else and I find myself down to only one pair and that will never do. So I’ve been looking around online to see what I could find there.

I ran across an article in the Examiner that was discussing Zenni Optical and how easy it is (and affordable) to find almost any type of eye wear on their website. You can even download a picture of yourself and they have it set up to where you can virtually try on all the glasses that they sell. You name it and they seem to have it there, good quality eye wear for cheap prices.  I’ve had fun experimenting with it all and I’m placing my order next Friday. I’ll let you know what I think when I receive my order. Might even post a picture or two!

It’s Always Been All About Shoes

I love shoes, actually I love any type of foot wear, my favorites are boots and flip flops. I must have a dozen pairs of boots and several dozen pairs of flip flops that are taking up a lot of space in my walk in closet. My mother has always been frustrated with my need for new shoes and my father constantly was threatening to throw all of them out, back when I still lived at home, man that used to really irritate me to no end. I’m so glad that I don’t have to deal with all of that nonsense any more.

But I have decided that I need to down size, just a bit. So this weekend I am going to do a major clean up and clean out of my closet and take what I don’t need or want anymore to the local thrift store so that some one else may enjoy and use them as I have done. Just in time for another donation before the 2013 tax year ends.

A Good Quality Raleigh Cleaning Service

Spending some time online looking at gift options for my sister. I think she would really appreciate a raleigh cleaning service that would come into her house and get it a good cleaning, from top to bottom. She has been very overwhelmed with the new baby and her two and a half year old, which isn’t allowing her the time that she needs to get everything done that normally she would be right on top of.

The Other Woman, Inc sounds like they would be the perfect fit for what sis needs and wants. I have heard about The Other Woman from other people and they all seem to be satisfied with them. Word of mouth is still the best way of advertising, with the Internet falling right on it’s heels. I hope that this gift from me to her will make her Christmas a good one and that we have many more Christmas holidays ahead of us all.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

A few years ago, while perusing through TV channels one Saturday evening, I discovered that my favorite Christmas tale of all time, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, was airing in its live action movie format. I’d loved the book and the cartoon specials as a child and thought they did a good job of fleshing out the story in order to accommodate the feature length format. I was living with my college roommates at the time and we waxed nostalgia while enjoying it on TV. The movie plot basically follows the book where the anti-Christmas Grinch tries to spoil it for the people of Whoville by stealing all of their presents. Realizing the true meaning of Christmas after the folks of Whoville were able to enjoy it even without presents, the Grinch has a change of heart. The movie was directed by Ron Howard and starred Jim Carrey. It originally came out back in 2000 at the height of Carrey’s popularity.

Anyway, watching it has pretty much become an annual holiday event for me. Now that I’m out of school and back at home, I’ve been watching it the last two years with my parents. We usually catch the weekend showing when the whole family can get together. The only other requirements we have are some snacks, drinks and some cozy blankets.

Online Shopping Is The Only Way To Go This Christmas

This year I am trying to purchase as many gifts as I can online. I hate everything about the holiday shopping madness that we find ourselves in each year and last year was the last of it for me. I can’t stand the crowds, the Christmas music, the loud and unruly kids, the weather, the parking and everything else that we have to go through each Christmas. There are plenty of great deals to be found using the Internet. You can find just about anything that you could imagine online. And more people are turning to the Internet for their purchases, what with free shipping, promo codes and coupons a plenty, merchants are bending over backwards to accommodate the growing population of online shoppers like myself.

My sister is also trying to avoid the mall and the other merchants like Walmart, Target and the like. So we are bouncing ideas and web site links back and forth to each other more and more as Christmas is fast approaching. She found some decent Best Buy promo codes over the weekend and shot me off a quick email with the link to Savings.com to see if I could find anything that I would be interested in. Right now that are advertising: 10-50% Off DVDs: Select Titles $6.99 And Under which is a good price, DVDs are always a good gift to give to just about anyone these days. I have found that they are offering “Save $15-$70 on Select GPS Receivers & GPS Accessories” which is a chunk of change to knock off of the total price at checkout time.

With deals like this out there who needs to go out to get ready for the holidays?

Leave it to Beaver

I love watching black and white television shows and movies. They are one of my favorite currently available and I find that I like the classic movies and shows better than ones that have been made in just a few years from now. One of my favorite shows to watch in HD on my Cable Television is definitely Leave it to Beaver. Many people may not know about this show because it was created about fifty years ago. It’s one of those perfect shows that consists of a good natured housewife and a good family with a hard working husband. In as few terms as possible, it’s an unrealistic family that has been set into a long television show. They have made about six different seasons and I have all of them on DVD.

My mother actually makes fun of me for watching this show. It’s completely outdated and most people don’t really like it because it is completely unrealistic. But that’s probably why I like it so much. It’s just one of those shows that completely takes you out of your normal life and takes you into a world that is based on complete perfection. I guess not everything is perfect, but most of the episodes are definitely based on that perfect family that almost everyone would love to have in their normal and everyday lives.

Fashion Jewelry For Christmas Gift Giving

You really have to check this site for fashion jewelry, for the up and coming gift giving requirements, that are looming right ahead of us, The Jewler’s Wife! I remember ordering several pieces from them last year right about this time and was happy with the whole process and the products that I received as well.

I really hate waiting for the last minute to get all of the gifts purchased, in my spare room, wrapped and ready to go for all the people that I end up buying gifts for each year. Online shopping is the way to go these days. You won’t catch me in any old brick and mortar stores during the long and tedious holiday shopping frenzy!

The Beatles

I was really surprised to find so many Beatle songs that have been done over by other artists. I guess it’s a good thing though, it might help to keep their music alive and going even though we seem to be losing them one by one through out the years. God Bless The Beatles!

Mesothelioma

The first time I had ever heard of Mesothelioma was at work, back some ten years or so. One of the girls that I work with came in to work all freaked out and upset because her cousin had just been diagnosed with Mesothelioma. We all got an education from her about this horrible type of cancer that is becoming a major concern for so many people.

These days the TV is full of attorneys that are advertising their specialities in the Mesothelioma Cancer area. I can only pray that this gal’s family found themselves a good Florida Mesothelioma Lawyer to help them with their expenses due to this type of cancer. It seems that her cousin was in the Navy in Vietnam and contacted this disease while on one of their submarines. Now how crazy is that? Apparently the subs had asbestos in them and now a good amount of our veterans are suffering from Mesothelioma, what a total bummer.

I’m glad that we have the Internet to turn to for information that we need for things just such as this. The more you know and the better informed you are the better it is all the way around. I hope that they start finding cures for all these types of cancer that we keep discovering that killing us off each and every day.

Peace Out……….

Rain Guards & Wind Deflectors

I can’t tell you how many times I have been driving down the road and the rains start coming down, and hard. That is when you see all the motorcycles pulling off of the road and waiting under a bridge or an over pass waiting for the down pour to end so that they can get back on their bikes and hit the road once again. I’ve been caught in the rain while on the back of a motorcycle and it can suck all the fun right out of a nice ride, whether you are driving are riding on the back.

Even in a car, the rain can certainly make driving a major challenge. I know that there are wind deflectors and rain guards available out there and I’m going to start looking into purchasing one for my only is spring a rainy season, but we have a lot of rain in the fall as well and I’m tired of dealing with it.

My brother-in-law is urging me to visit carid.com, which has been in business since 2003 and he has used them frequently. They specialize in custom and OEM car accessories and offer there products for interior and exterior custom styling for performance and your comfort.

I’ve never much been into the customizing of any my vehicles, but my brother-in-law is all about cars, motorcycles and trucks and he knows what he is doing and talking about. So I have asked him to check out the best rain guard for my vehicle and see what he can come up with for me and soon. Next thing you know winter will be here and then we have to deal with snow and all that goes along with that nonsense. I just want to get fall over and done with at this point.
